Cadence and Frelon, both of you notice Lockes arrival but are more interested in the Newsletter put in front of you.
Grelin, There is a few moments after Locke enters into the room that you notice a faint shimmer coming from his left arm, It has no source nor general direction. Just a low shimmer that flashes for a few seconds and then vanishes when Locke folds his arms behind his back. When the shimmer fades you spy a symbol that seems to be seared into his left bicep, a brand of some sort. (Religion check from Grelin to see if he knows what the symbol means.)
Vanessa huffs and throws another log onto the low burning fireplace, she stokes it and gestures for Solace to move closer. Which she does. "So, I want the 3 of you to find the one responsible for this and kill them." Vanessa says in a commanding tone, as if giving you a order. "You will be compensated for the time spent hunting the individual, 5000 gold a piece if brought back dead. 7500 if brought back alive, So as we can make an example of the culprit." Vanessa's face was one of sorrow and sleep deprivation, Now it is a stern, almost sinister face. It's not hard to tell that she wants Vengeance for the fallen Slayer.

In the few seconds the symbol is in view, Grelin you instantly recognize it. It is the symbol of the Stormlord, Kord. A god representing strength and Discipline. You know Locke is a worshipper of Kord as he is A Member of the Trial forge, A Temple dedicated to the worship of Kord. While this is common knowledge, As Every Dawn marshall since the creation of Vassielheim has been a worshipper. The symbol is a little off. Usually the symbol is that of a Cobalt disc with a pair of lightning bolts striking it. The symbol on Locke's arm is of a single bolt striking a much smaller disc. It's odd to you because you know that he should have the actual symbol and not this smaller version of it.

Vanessa lets out a yawn as she leans back in her chair once more. "ugh, sorry. I desperately need sleep. I would say that you begin your investigation at the velvet cabaret in the duskmeadow. In the morning of course, The establishment should be closing soon." Vanessa rubs her eyes and stands up from her desk. "Return to me in the morning, Ill have the contract made and ready for signatures. Solace dear, If you would please follow me so I may show you where you will be sleeping." Solace wipes the remnants of tears from her eyes and stands to follow vanessa, Giving you all a gentle bow as she passes.

Frelon gives a short bow as they leave. "This is a right mystery. And that's a fair sum of gold. Sure we can get to the bottom of it though. After some rest."
"Rest?" Cadence repeats, the word rolling melodically off her tongue. She walks closely beside Frelon, keeping her voice down, her eyes containing a hint of mischief. "You don't want to see what else we can learn tonight?"

Frelon whispers back, "Well, if you think there's anything to be learned..."
Cadence and Frelon, Whats the plan? You gunna get some rest or search for more information?
Grelin, Locke has not left Vanessa's office. He nodded to each of you as you passed by him and helped Vanessa direct Solace to a empty bed chamber. After that he stayed in the office, So you walk back into the office to find the Man slowly prodding the Fire with a poker. He Seems deep in thought but does notice your arrival. He looks to you, In this light you can truly see how old the man is, He looks weary and tired. Not physically tired but mentally. "Oh, Grelin. pardon me, I was just thinking of this Contract laid before you and your friends." The Elder lays the poker against the brick of the fireplace and turns to you. Folding his arms behind his back. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Locke lets arms go to his sides as he walks past you Grelin. He has noticed you laying your hand on the hilt of your blade, He doesn't say a word to you. He steps out of the room and you are left alone with the sounds of the Fireplace crackling. You take it that by even coming close to your sword was a Sign of Disrespect to him. With Locke being a man of pure discipline and Respect, He would not act kindly or hospitable to such an act.

Outside the Take's HQ, Cadence suggests to Frelon that it might be worth taking a look around the Cabaret tonight. "If it is closed already, well we shall see..." she purrs.
Cadence and Frelon, you both exit the Slayers Take Guild Hall and make your way towards the Duskmeadow, The district in which the Velvet Cabaret is housed. It takes a good 30 minutes to come to the district. On the way you discuss what the Contract could entail and how unusual it is for a contract to take place within the city. After a little while you can see a large 4 story building. The building appears to be made of a fine oak-like material and stone, It is a impressive building. Multiple windows line the walls, most of which show no light except for one. On the fourth floor, towards the peak of the building you see a small circle shaped window. From that window you see a light with shadows moving in front of it. You reach the front entrance and note that the door is massive compared to the rest of the building, easily encompassing atleast 2 of the floors of the building. No one is standing outside but you do see Pipe ash and a couple empty bottle next to a chair just to the left of the large double doors.
Grelin, you are 10 minutes behind your party members. After Exiting Vanessas office, you saw Locke step into his quarters and close the door behind him. Once outside the hall, you attempted to catch up to your friends but it has taken some time for you to do so.
Frelon and Cadence, The Large double doors are locked.

Frelon, The ash is definitely from a Smoking pipe. You find what looks like a very dried piece of leaf next to one of the bottles. Luckily you have seen this Leaf before at your forge, This is Fericus Suude. A Very strong and potent leaf used for Pipe smoking, it has some medicinal use. Mostly for numbing pain. It is considered illegal in some parts of the continent as it is a Illicit substance but it is well traded in Vasselheim and not out of the ordinary to cause any sort of suspicion.
The bottles are all Long neck, green tinted glass. there are no labels or corks of any kind, You take a sniff at one and get a strong scent of Alcohol. Some sort of Spirit that you are unfamiliar with. As you rummage threw the 5 empty bottles you hear a clink from one. Peering into the glass bottle you see a key, Simple and brass. It's a small key, it dosent appear to be the key to the door of the Velvet Cabaret.
At this point you hear footsteps coming from the walkpath Frelon, Turning you see your Dragonborn companion Grelin walking towards you and cadence. He is about 50 feet from you.
