"An undead hoarder... How quaint." Adaliza looked at the rune again. "Will come handy, though. Especially if our necromant decides to show up." She looked around. "Anything else we need here or should we move back to that room with the sign?"

Serandis Thieves Tools (Inspiration from Adaliza[BlueBayou]): 17

"I would love to study that wand, if it is allowed," Serandis says to the group. "I am very interested in such items and how they work." 

After a moment of struggle, Serandis is able to get the lock picked and open the chest.

Inside is an empty bag, a sack that jingles slightly when you touch it, and a note written in Elvish.

For those who read Elvish and look at the note:

"All yours," absentmindedly answered Adaliza giving the wand to Serandis. She, herself, was deep into the letter. "Now this is interesting! And very disturbing. Whatever Queen those necromancers mean, we need to bring it back to Warlord as fast as possible."

"Wait, if they planned to keep a hundred skeletons here... A magical bag?"

"Thank you, Ada. And I agree, this is very disturbing." The bag is heavy in Sera's hands, thinking about the darkness that was inside of it. She inspects the bag and the sack. She will read the note outloud for those who do not speak her native tongue.

"So this is where all the skeletons came from, but what in the Mabarian hell is The Avaestasi? Any ideas?" She asks of the group, trying to glean what they may and may not know.

Nobody has any idea who or what the Avaestasi is, unfortunately.

Arcana Check on the bags: 20

Serandis: The bag is empty, and definitely extradimensional, as evidenced by you opening it, looking inside, and being faced with a yawning void. The sack has 30 gp, 150 sp, and 300 cp in it.

"Any Skeleton seeds in there?" Citron looks at Serandis "maybe we grow a few of our own to help deal with The Avaestasi..."

"No skeleton seeds, whatever those are," Serandis drops a few coins out of the sack, "there is some coins in here, though. And this bag, I am sure is extra dimensional. What kind I am not sure at this moment. Would anyone like to hold on to this bag? Could come in handy."

"We will keep it, of course. Can show to the Warlord but I do not think he will insist on taking it, not after it was in the hands of a necromancer." Adaliza would gladly take the thing, for now, one never knows when some extra space will be needed.

"Shall we check downstairs?"

As you make your way downstairs, you find yourselves in a dark basement. Piles of bones are laid out in rows through the room, as if there were skeletons here that just...collapsed.

Petra spends another use of Divine Sense to try and detect if these are just skeletons or if they're dormant undead.

Citron starts to count them

Adaliza looked at the remains and shook her head "Guess, this is the "raw material". We should inform the temple too, for conducting proper rituals here." She checked if anything can tell how "fresh" the skeletons are - something from recent burial or very old from ancient battles around.

Perception: 10

Petra: These are not undead. Also, this area is no longer desecrated.

Citron: There's about fifty skeletons down here

Adaliza: There appears to be a mix of old and newer skeletons. You suspect you may have found what happened to people who got dragged off in the attacks in recent weeks...

Sera reels back from the swath of bones covering the floor down here. So much needless death, so many lost souls touched by Mabar. It wasn't right, nor was it fair. 

"Let us do what must be done down here and be gone from this dark fortress of damnation," she says with audiable unease and discomfort in her voice. 

"The desecration that was here is gone and these skeletons will not rise again. But we should let the warlord know what was happening here."
