The next morning after everyone is done sleeping, you come to the Inn's common room to find what looks like a metallic dog sitting next to Case. Gears, plates of metal, oil, greasy rags and all manner of tools are laid out all over the table near him. His bag looks considerably lightened of raw materials. The metallic dog sits still next to Case while he works on its inner gears. "We can finish that up next time..." he says, apparently to the dog, before screwing in a few last bits and baubs and then bolting down a plate covering on teh dogs side. His mechanical flying winged creature crouches on a cross-beam above, watching the dog with curiosity. Case goes about cleaning up his tools while the group has breakfast. Once done, he begins verbally ordering the automaton around. It gets up, walks, jumps, and otherwise follows his orders to the letter. Seemingly pleased with his work...and why should he not be, having created such a thing over night....he stands up. His growing number of automatons obediently follow behind him as he trails the group back to the mummy.
With this now elevation of the importance of their mission, Case nods to Drego, "Indeed. With much haste. We have tarried here too long. Let us depart immediately."

"I am ready to be off." Robin agrees with Case. She glances to the mummy. "Hopefully you have things ready for your own protection. I would not expect the assassins to return soon, but I fear they will return." She nods her farewell and is ready to leave.
With that, you all head out of town for Atur again!
OOC: Congratulations on officially completing Adventure 2! Everyone gets an inspiration!
The next few days of the journey aren't too eventful. It's evening when you arrive in Atur. You pass through the gates and immediately feel a quiet chill steal over your skin as you get into the Mabaran manifest zone. Entering Atur, you quickly realize that the sturdy Karrnathi architecture is the only thing familiar about it. Walking through the streets are zombies and skeletons, and you even catch the linen-wrapped figure of an oathbound here and there. The living members of the city seem unfazed by the presence of the undead, and you realize that among them are likely vampires, difficult to tell apart from the living in the gathering dusk. You do, however, notice suspicious gazes traveling your way--the Seekers of Atur are accustomed to hostility from outsiders. But even the medley of living and dead on the streets only holds your attention for a moment before your gaze is drawn to the pyramid of blood-red brick and black mortar towering at the center of the city. The Crimson Monastery is a sight to behold, looming over the rest of Atur and glowing faintly in the twilight with a magical red radiance.
You have arrived in the City of Night.
OOC: Atur is a Mabaran manifest zone, meaning the plane of Mabar, the Endless Night, is particularly close to Eberron here. Because of this, the following effect will be active until you leave the city.
Necrotic Power: A creature has disadvantage on saving throws against necromancy spells. An undead creature has 2 extra hit points per Hit Die and advantage on saving throws against being turned or frightened.
Drego forces his feet to keep moving methodically as they enter the city. His body wants to stop, to freeze, to stare at every turn. Instead he focuses on drinking in all the details, studying the alleys, the streets and the buildings, cataloguing every detail for some unforeseen future need.
'Well, best be about our business eh? We can rest once we've delivered our message'
Upon arrival to the city, Pieste Mor flie about 5 feet above the others heads and uses their Wand of Pyrotechnics to ensure it is a grand entrance indeed! Bright, popping flashes of color and sound rain down upon him and the party members in spectacular fashion which cannot go unnoticed! All seven charges are expended to really make a show of it…
6 “…we have arrived…” the dragon then needlessly points out to the others.
The only thing Jax says to Vorik before departing is: "I do not know what those omens mean at all. But do all you can to make the time we have afforded you worth our sacrifice. Do not make us regret it."He offers his hand to shake.
He's unnaturally quiet on the journey to Atur. Smoking his pipe at night, formless, smoky shapes dancing around him. He's not much for conversation, even with PM, answering with grunts or monosyllables. Doing his share and trying to protect the group from danger, deter threats. And not having really any answers about what the elves said about him, or the spirits that manifested around him during the fight. It's clear as you spend more time near him that in the past, he's been able to just move from one place to another without having to grapple with answers, electing instead to forget and seek something new.... but this time, he's not running. He's along for the ride, working up the nerve to find out more.
In Atur, the undead backdrop barely fazes him, though his eyes do run across the likely martial abilities of those he sees. When PM unfurls his dramatic entrance, he nearly rolls his eyes, and half-smiles. Ready to deter anyone who doesn't take kindly to fireworks.
"So where are we headed? That big pyramid, or somewhere else?"
Case looks about the skyline. "Atur is not our destination Jax. We are headed for Korth. Atur does however have the lightning rail. We seek passage on the lightning rail to Korth. The station should be simple enough to locate."
He begins walking across town looking for signage to the rail station or trying to spot the line or station himself. If they have difficulty, he will inquire with a local. His dog creature walks along sticking close to his side while his winged man sits on his shoulder.

Jax nods placidly, not unaccustomed to being lost. "So it is."
As they walk, if Jax sees an armorer store, he'd stop in to see if there's aa chain shirt that fit him. That last fight did some work to remind him he was not indestructible.
“… pardon, the rail station is which way?” Pieste Mor would quickly ask, flying up to and next to various pedestrians to do so. He would pick out a gaggle of children if he saw such, and a couple or three undead. For the former, for the fun of having smoke whisping out his nostrils and seeing their reactions to a tiny dragon.., The former yo get a closer look and to see what kind of read he could get on them. Undead - just like regular folk?
The dragon would likewise inquire about an armory “… on the way, if possible…” and gladly offer up his 35 gold to help properly outfit Jax. “… hells us both, in the long run…”
PM makes the shiny fireworks, drawing some confused or interested looks from those around you. Jax, you are undoubtedly able to find an armorer's shop and acquire a chain shirt for the typical price (I think it's 40 gp, but don't quote me on that). PM, as you fly up to people, the undead do mainly seem to be like the other people, if a bit more stoic in terms of expression. Then again, most of them are mummies, so expression at all is difficult to ascertain.
As you all make your way towards the lightning rail station (easy to spot thanks to the giant illusory unicorn prancing back and forth above it and navigate to due to directions you get from passerby), can I get a Perception from everybody?
(He does buy the chain shirt, sniffing at the metal but running his scarred hands along it with some satisfaction that he's now covering areas that had recently been injured.)(Deducted 40gp from my inventory.)
"...we are being followed," Pieste Mor points out, jumping off Jax's shoulder and turning to point their muzzle at the being in question. "... let's see what they want..." Pieste Mor will then fly over to within 20 feet or so of their follower. It's probably just a guard or someone that they were supposed to check in with or something.
Robin sighs as the small dragon immediately goes to face off with whomever was following them. "Sometimes it is best to just let them be and know they are there." Robin mutters to herself. "Cannot exactly reverse the situation if they know you know they are there after all..." She glances to the others. "Seems like we are confronting whomever is following us." She says in a louder voice. "Shall we see what they want?"
