As Garu recites from her scroll, the wounded owlbear dissipates, its purpose served. In its place, a newly summoned spectral owlbear descends into the pool with a loud splash, immediately shredding a Dokkalfar limb from limb as two of its companions tear into its flank with their claws. Aisha evades her attacker and fires two arrows into the Dokkalfar attacking Garu. The demon hisses, fighting against the pain and batters the paladin's armor in a feral rage. Harmony turns her attention to the glowing cultist, stabbing at the man within the vines with her dagger. The blade is stopped short by the mystical protection surrounding him, but the man suddenly howls, matching Kayel's beastly rage within the image. The aura pulses, and as it does so, Ginan is thrown backward painfully, though Tylyn's moonlight still sunders the beast while he seems held fast by invisible vines.

"You are too late! Cowards! Weaklings! You stuck to your pact, letting mortals do the work of deity. It has made you weak!"

Harmony dodges at the last second, feeling a nick as the Dokkalfar who had been attacking Aisha turns his claws against her. Maintaining her protective magic, she sees the Cyndari turn its tentacles again to almost everyone within the chamber except for her. Aisha, Garu, and the owlbear are slapped hard by the barbed tentacles; the cultist and shrine are struck as well, but remain protected against the mundane damage.

If the Dokkalfar in front of her is still up, she would have used Hellish Rebuke in response to getting hit by them. "Thanks!" Harmony calls out to Aisha, casting Healing Word on her. Then she would have heard Kayel, annoyed. "Shut up!" she yells, going to stab at him again.

The herd thins further as Harmony's hellish rebuke and Aisha's arrows take a Dokkalfar down. Garu cleaves through another and the owlbear pierces the throat of one in the water with its beak. The creature is struck hard by the Cyndari's flailing tentacles, and begins to buckle beneath the onslaught. Harmony's dagger, and the Cyndari's tentacles, are yet again turned away from the restrained cultist's divine protection.

Yet within the image, Kayel still remains held by the mundane vines of the Material Plane. Dark mystical energy flows around him as he rages, coalescing around Ginan and throwing him to the side violently, rebuffing a meager spell attempt from the weakened Gabrielle, then darting like an arrow toward Tylyn. Diving to the side, her radiant beam falters, leaving an angry and smoldering Kayel.

"Can you feel it, children of Toril? Champion of Tylyn? Kayel is coming. Your gods cannot help you now," the cultist shouts through gritted teeth, mirroring Kayel's beastly form. On cue, Rajiira screams atop the shrine. The image begins to grow, now overtaking most of the air above the shrine.

Normally, Aisha might spend time to heal the owlbear .. if only to make it last longer but every second wasted on such things was a moment another cultist wasn't dying and getting out of her way. Aisha had no idea if killing the cultists would actually work, but at-least with them gone.... they could do things... try things without a knife in the back.

Harmony knew that she can't attack the Cyndari, so she decided to try yet again to stab at the cultist. This protection has to end at some point already!

One of Aisha's arrows grazes the remaining Dokkalfar as it holds the owlbear at bay. It throws itself at the owlbear in turn, forsaking its claws in an attempt to sink its fangs into the spectral creature. Garu enters the pool; as her jian cuts into the thick flesh of the Cyndari, it bristles with evident rage. Its tentacles thrash through the chamber, at least one striking and stinging every member of the party. Harmony loses the concentration on her heroism spell, still thrusting her dagger at the chanting cultist near the shrine. The barrier continues to be impenetrable to the blade.

The vines entangling the cultist recede back into the ground and water, and inside of the image Kayel is released from his invisible prison in turn. He rushes, howling, at impossible speed, and suddenly holds Ginan by the neck. The god of stealth and twilight cuts his dagger into the arms of the beast as it taunts him.

"You hold power no longer. It is my time now," Kayel thrusts his bleeding arm through the chest of Ginan, his claws tearing a hole clean through his middle. Gasping in pain, Ginan and Kayel alike are thrown to the side as Tylyn bull-rushes the pair with her shield. A blast of divine energy ripples through the image and the cavern as energy explodes from her shield. Kayel returns to his feet grinning as the goddess advances on him. Gabrielle rushes to Ginan's side, pouring healing energy into him. Though his wound heals, he looks visibly weakened along with her. Both look toward Tylyn as their final hope, and Gabrielle closes her eyes.

Harmony hears the voice of the beautiful goddess in her mind. "Child of Toril. Time is running out. Kayel's strength is unmatched. If he emerges on the Material Plane, our struggle is over. Please...stop his ritual. We can hold him back no longer."
