Stormraider Keep (A M.E.T.A.L. Campaign)

"But these are aberrations Triserla, you wanted us to cleanse this place of them, did you not?" Elyria asks, seemingly intent on battle. She is content though to slip into the bushes behind her and hide (Bonus action Stealth: 26) and readying a shot with her elven long bow should any aggression from either side occur.

Triserla says to Elyria, "Yes. As I said, they had attacked us before.  And certainly the spider-like creatures were very aggressive.  We do not want them in our forest!"

Creatures 3, 4, and 5 do much the same as Creature 2, making a step forward but hanging back for the most part.  (Creature 3 should have taken its turn before Triserla.) 

(End of Round 1) 

Round 2

Creature 1 holds in place, seeming a bit uncertain about Flynt.  But it is very clearly eyeing the crossbow he is brandishing.

(Flynt is up.)

Aurelius asks, "Flynt, I believe that once before you used magic to be able to understand the Elvish language, do you think that would help in this situation?"

He sighs, "I am loathe to simply resort to violence if there is some other way to accomplish our goal, but we must fulfill our commitment to the guardians.  If we cannot communicate with them, I am out of ideas.  Unfortunately, I don't have any spare magical items that I am willing to give up right now in trade."

He will attempt to pantomime a simple message like "We stay, you go!" to the leading creature.

Flynt fires a warning shot into the ground five feet in front of the lead Nothic and sternly points away into the forest.

Round 2

Creature 1 appears to cower back a little from Flynt's shot.  

Acorn moves to be just behind Elyria.

Creature 2 suddenly rushes forward (DASH Action) coming straight at Flynt.  It is still about 15 ft away. (This could be considered "aggression" if Elyria wishes to use her reaction to make her readied shot.)  

(Aurelius is now up.)

This is definitely considered aggression according to Elyria and she loosens an arrow at Creature 2.

Round 2

Aurelius shrugs, "Well, I tried."  He draws his sword and ignites it, and charges at creature 2.

First Longsword Attack: 12 Damage: 11 + 2 fire damage

Second Longsword Attack: 24 Damage: 9 + 6 fire damage

Round 2

Aurelius' attacks both hit the creature.  It is still standing but looks greatly weakened. 

Sozi moves over next to Acorn trying to stay to the bushes.

Creature 3 charges forward, ending up next to Creature 1. 

Triserla stays where she is at, watching the combat warily and ready to flee farther if necessary.  

(Elyria is up next.) 

Map Update: 

Elyria swiftly moves into hiding again (Bonus action Hide: 9) before firing another arrow at Creature 2.
Longbow: 21 Damage: 5 (Go with first roll if hiding unsuccessful) (Nevermind :-P)

Round 2

Elyria's shot just misses the aberration.  

Creature 4 and Creature 5 both charge forward (DASH Action) but do not quite reach to where Aurelius is at.

Round 3

Creature 1 moves a little to the south, seemingly still wary of Flynt.  Its gaze focuses on Aurelius instead.  The single large eye seems to gleam with an eerie light.  (Aurelius CON Save DC 12 or take 6 necrotic damage.)

Betsy's string thrums so fast in succession it sounds like one shot instead of three.

Creature three is the target.

Attack: 23 Damage: 21

Bonus  action Attack: 22 Damage: 15

Attack: 4 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Round 3

Flynt's first two shots miss, but the third strikes Creature 3. 

Acorn charges forward and attacks Creature 2 it then blinks back to W34.
(Attack: 6 Damage: 5)

Creature 2 is taken down by Acorn's attack.

Round 3

Seeing the nearest opponent felled by the blink dog, Aurelius turns to the next nearest (Creature 1? whichever is closest), approaches and attacks.  He will add a Divine Smite to each attack that hits.

First Longsword Attack: 21 Damage: 5 + 4 fire damage + 6 radiant damage

Second Longsword Attack: 15 Damage: 11 + 10 fire damage + 6 radiant damage

Round 3

Only one of Aurelius' blows lands on Creature 3 (it is closest, same one Flynt attacked).  

Sozi also charges forward, like Acorn, and attacks Creature 3 before blinking back behind Elyria. 
(Bite Attack: 19 Damage: 4)

Creature 3 swipes at Aurelius with its claws.
(Claw Attack: 20 Damage: 9)
(Claw Attack: 19 Damage: 9)

Triserla casts Entangle covering K34 to N37.  
(Creature 4 STR Save: 18 vs DC12 or be restrained)
(Creature 1 STR Save: 11 vs DC12 or be restrained)

 Both Creature 1 and Creature 4 are restrained.
