Stormraider Keep (A M.E.T.A.L. Campaign)

Aurelius will kneel by the fallen Oni, and cast zone of truth (CHA save 15) centered on the location of the creature.  He will hold a dagger to the throat of the ogre mage and then lay hands on him for one point of healing. (two actions but I think we're out of initiative now?)

"If you want to keep your head, do not move," he snarls. "Betrayer, you will answer our questions, or you will perish, it is that simple."

He then waits for his companions to interrogate the prisoner.

Elyria steps out of hiding, keeping her concentration on her magic for now, listening to the interrogation of the ogre mage.

"Did you know Lady Sylmare is a hag? Tell us of her plans for Leilatha." Flynt demands.

(CHA Save: 17)

(Aurelius would be aware that Niikag made the Save and is not compelled to tell the truth.  I presume the rope is still in place.)

"You think you are all clever to have discovered Lady Sylmare's secrets. Her plan for Leilatha is simple, she expects you will defeat her for us. It would be the least you could do in return for getting your companion out of Lady Leilatha's clutches."

"What about the amulet, how exactly did the ritual you performed change it?" Elyria says sternly, taking a step forward.

"What does she want from Rakeshi? 

(Rope is still in place)

(I'm sure you noticed, but the ogre mage will have to repeat the CHA save at the beginning of each turn when he is in the AoE of the spell)

The paladin continues to hold the knife menacingly at the throat of the bound Oni.

(Aurelius knows that now Niikag is compelled to tell the truth now.)

Niikag responds to Elyria, "I did not change the amulet." He then looks at Flynt. "As for Rahkeshi, she carries part of an artifact that she wants."

"What is the artifact? Describe it." demands Flynt.

"Describe the artifact?" the ogre-creature says. "It is not simple, for the artifact is many pieces.  It consists of a crown with large elk antlers, a cloak of leaves, bracelet of thorns, boots of mountain goat skin, an eagle feather charm, a talisman made of amber, and armor of a large serpent's scales.   But the smallest bit is perhaps most important.  It is a simple pearl. Together, they can grant immense power."

Aurelius says to Elyria, "what he says is the literal truth about the amulet, however it does not rule out that someone else changed it."

Elyria nods at Aurelius. "The ritual that was performed in Alvahollow, what exactly did it do to the amulet?" She asks the ogre mage.

(CHA Save: 21)

(Aurelius again senses that the ogre has resisted the spell's magic and is not compelled to tell the truth.) 

Niikag says, "The amulet was not really changed.  All that happened with amulet with the ritual was to allow your companions here to join with you in passing Lady Leilatha's wards."  

The paladin shakes his head, and presses the knife a little tighter against his captive's windpipe.  "Try again."

Niikag doesn't move, but tries to glance toward Aurelius. "Try again? The amulet does what it does. We cannot change that."

Elyria thinks the oni has been mostly truthful, perhaps even always technically telling the truth.  He is clearly trying to be evasive though.

(Aurelius would know Niikag is compelled to be truthful at this point.)

"Our only recourse would be to affect the wearer. But really, thus far you seem to be paying right along with our wishes. Despite your foolhardy disrespect to Lady Sylmare."

Aurelius nods to Elyria Confirming the truth of what the Oni has said. 

"So what happens when all the raiments of nature are brought together?) asks Flynt.
