“The open Roads are always treacherous my young Halfling lass,” Added Gundren teasing Sariel. “All manner of bandits creep their way up and down the High Road, Goblins too. That’s why we asked for adventurers.”
Sildar nodded in agreement. “Speaking of dangers, we never got around to what your specialties are. What can you ladies do in a fight?”
After a long period of silence, Naomi says, "I'm a wizard. I'm proficient at casting spells, though I do know how to use a crossbow and a quarterstaff."
“Magic users eh,” Gundren mused. “You’ll be needing some back up on the road. Sildar will be I charge off that.” Gundren directed his attention to Sildar. “I hope you can find someone who can work well with them.”
Sildar took a moment to think before smiling. “As a matter of fact, yes. I do know someone who can round things out for them.”
When the hell can I cut the manners? Sariel thought to herself
That would be very helpful. Especially if the trail there is as treacherous are you say. What is the preparation process going to include? Oh yeah.. and the payment.
“You three will be pulling a wagon loaded with all of our essential equipment. Gundren and I will be going on ahead to prepare our operations as well as a place to keep our supplies. You’ll arrive the day after we do. As the flier said you’ll each get 10 gold pieces for getting the cart to Phandalin. Afterwards, if you wish to join us we will fill you in on the specifics of our expedition. If you do I promise to make it worth your while.” explained Sildar.

Naomi nods and says, "Alright, sounds good to me."
“Oh well, I am actually a member of the Griffon Cavalry of Waterdeep. I’m playing the sellsword as a favor to Gundren and i have my own stake in this little expedition.” SIldar replied.

What kind of stake do you have in this journey?
“A private one.” Sildar said in a polite but matter of fact way.
Sounds interesting. I'm in. I can certainly understand secrets
As the conversation continued onward, and Sariel began to contemplate, the door behind everyone began to open. A figure crossed the guild threshold and made his way to where the group were. He approached quickly and quietly behind Sariel and began to speak. “Are these the folk you got to do your dirty work Sildar?” Said a youthful voice.
Hm. Ten gold, huh? Felix thought. Not too bad. I could get some decent jerky with that. But it begs the question: what are they transporting?
He checked his cloth mask and hood to ensure they were still secure, glad to find they were. He learned early on that, to truly get people to speak honestly, it was best to hide his good looks and racial ancestry. And more often than not his looks were a nuisance to him. Besides, he quite enjoyed the air of mystery his attire gave him. Even if the monks and townspeople from back home would give him grief over it.
Speaking of attire, he wore the hood from a winter cloak, a mask that covered half his face, hand wraps, and simple long-sleeved monk clothes converted into traveling clothes. He was of medium height, with brown hair tied in a braid just touching his back, silver eyes that he tried to cover with the hood, and skin of decent tan. His traveling pack was slung over one shoulder, with a short sword strapped to his side.
After reading the note, he looked around to see if he could find the dwarf who posted it. Too bad the note did not give an address, but at least it gave a name to seek out. So, with a shrug, he turned and spoke aloud.
"Excuse me?! Where can I find Sildar Hallwinter?!" he exclaimed to whoever would hear him.
“Treacherous? How so? I have never been down that way.” Sariel asked with curiousity.
“The open Roads are always treacherous my young Halfling lass,” Added Gundren teasing Sariel. “All manner of bandits creep their way up and down the High Road, Goblins too. That’s why we asked for adventurers.”

Sariel rolled her eyes at Grunden
“I am a sorcerer and I am decent with my daggers and crossbow. I focus more on my spellcasting however.”
Motmet speaks up.
"I'm a cleric. I provide defense, magic support, and medicine. I also fly and I have acquired javelin."
After a long period of silence, Naomi says, "I'm a wizard. I'm proficient at casting spells, though I do know how to use a crossbow and a quarterstaff."

Sariel stands with her hands on her hips thinking deeply.
Won't you tell us a little about yourself Mr. Hallwinter?

A passerby directed Felix to the Rockseeker Company Guild hall where the missive came from.
"Poor saps getting roped in like me. My name is Eion, good to meet you all. I'll be your ranger for this outing.
*Turning attention back to Sildar and gesturing to the person calling his name from across the room.
"Sounds like your popular tonight Sildar. Anyone want to call the yelling person over to join our party?"
