Hidden around the corner, Leelan takes a moment to observe the creature, its movements, its reaction to assault. He tries to analyze it for weaknesses.
Action: Hunter’s sense
Learn his damage resistances, immunities and vulnerabilities. Also learn what they are (but figured that one out already).
He will then move along with the group towards the exit.
[Some of the movement confused me... it sounds like Rohuzarwent into the ritual pool room, but then Guilimsays he falls back, but passes Rohuzarin the process. I think Rohuzarwas advancing while everyone else was falling back and that is how I interpreted things.]
Rohuzarfights his way through the living water and takes another swipe with his axe. This time, the water parts around is blade and he fails to connect.
Aubreycries out his warning to fall back, but connects once more with a blast of eldritch energy. Then he withdraws into the dining hall to prepare to fight on better ground.
Guilimchannels righteous power into a terrible smite. While he is still not sure how much damage his halberd is doing, he sees the water withdraw in pain from the power of his smite.
Gruggawithdraws into the dining hall to prepare for an attack... that doesn't arrive immediately.
Water Form. The elemental can enter a hostile creature's space and stop there. It can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
Freeze. If the elemental takes cold damage, it partially freezes; its speed is reduced by 20 feet until the end of its next turn.
Furvus grants Aubreya vision of what is occurring. Rather than following the rest of you into the dining hall, the elemental follows Rohuzarback into the ritual pool room. It surges around him, trying to envelope him inside itself.
Whelm (Recharge 4–6). Each creature in the elemental's space must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failure, a target takes 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If it is Large or smaller, it is also grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained and unable to breathe unless it can breathe water. If the saving throw is successful, the target is pushed out of the elemental's space.
The elemental can grapple one Large creature or up to two Medium or smaller creatures at one time. At the start of each of the elemental's turns, each target grappled by it takes 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. A creature within 5 feet of the elemental can pull a creature or object out of it by taking an action to make a DC 14 Strength check and succeeding.
Rohuzarneeds to make a STR save DC 15 or take 17 bludgeoning, be grappled and restrained and be unable to breathe.

Realizing their leader is not coming Aubrey steps back into the corridor, unleashing another beam of golden eldritch crackling force towards the watery monster. Eldritch blast: 12 Force: 7 Necrotic: 1 He then moves back to where he started.
Grugga whistles Zap back to its old position (to the right of Guilim) and orders it to attack when it has a shot down the hallway. Attack: 12 Damage: 4 force
Grugga rounds the corner and wails, "It's got him! We've gotta get him out of there!" He moves as far as he can in these close quarters (3 above Guilim... 2 below the door?) while still readying himself to avoid any of this strange water monster's attacks ((action dodge)).
Guilim will move up to the door and reach in with his halberd, using his 10 ft of reach to stay out of the room As before when he swings he will call upon the divine power to sheathe his blade if he strikes the creature.

After some success previously, most of your attacks fail this round, with the water parting, shifting and dodging to avoid your blades and spells. Only Leelan'sarrow seems to hit, penetrating deep into the living mass of water before stopping as though it his something solid... and then slowly sinking to the floor of the ritual pool room. You all get a glimpse of Rohuzar, suspended and struggling just off the ground within the elemental's body.

The water elemental surges back down the hallway. Water rises around the feet of Guilimand Grugga, and Rohuzaris dragged into the doorway to the ritual pool room. Rohuzartakes another 16 bludgeoning damage.
The elemental surges its body around Grugga, trying to seize him as well, and trap Guilimin between his friends!

With more desperation now Aubrey steps back into the corridor, unleashing another beam of golden eldritch crackling force towards the watery monster. Eldritch blast: 17 Force: 7 Necrotic: 2 He then moves back to where he started.

Cursing loudly as he does not want to be stuck between the two and the elemental but seeing little choice, Guilim will once more slash at the creature.
Grugga charges in, sword aloft in an aggressive and unprofessional stance, and is whipped off his feet by the sudden movement of the surging tide around his legs. He falls bodily into the living water and splashes straight through the churning off-white seafoam. Feeling incapable of fighting off this thing with his sword, he tries desperately to "swim" out of it.
Athletics check vs DC 14: 13
Grugga manages to stick an arm out just far enough to order Zip to fire before he's sucked back into the living ripcurl. Attack: 15 Damage: 23 force
((Clearly that's supposed to be 3 damage, not 23))

With the situation getting rather dire, Leelan takes a deep breath and centers all of its attention on this single creature. His weapon might not be as effective as he wants, but maybe a few key strikes at certain weak spots could help turn the tide.
Bonus action: Slayer’s Prey
You designate one creature you can see within 60 ft. and the first time each turn that you hit that target with a weapon attack, it takes an extra 1d6 damage. This benefit lasts until you finish a short or long rest or if you designate a different creature.

He confirms this is, in fact, a water elemental.
