Dyumi listens to Mohdrak and racks his brain about events six years ago.
History Check: 15
As would be expected from someone of his age, Dyumi's memory proves to be almost worthless. All he can remember is an acorn pie recipe he learned six-ish years ago.
"Or was it sixty? Wait no, it was walnuts, riiight? Walnuts? Ah, yes, it was actually trail mix, not a pie, my bad. Say, have you ever tasted a Goodberry?"

(Hey gang, hectic morning over here so just getting back to post now. Also, I screwed up the years in my previous post and corrected those. Current year in Haven is 1497 DR, not 1491 DR, and that makes the pattern of constellations depicted on the star map match up with the night sky over the Sword Coast in 1491 DR instead of 1485 DR. Although Mohdrak and Dyumi's History checks were nothing to write home about, I'll give you all this one as a freebie since I botched the years and it's not important to the completion of the adventure. Just something to further link the adventure to Haven.)
Doing the calculation as well, Mohdrak realizes that this map is seemingly frozen in time at 1491 DR, which he recently learned was the year that Haven was "discovered". Perhaps it's not a coincidence that Fistandia was separated from her mansion (and likely from her book that led the party here as well) around the same time as Haven's first appearance in the histories of the multiverse.
Cerlinde, Syd, and Ollezall's combined efforts don't garner any great new revelations, but the position of the golden sunburst directly over the closed door is probably suggestive of something important. Cerlinde does find that she seems to have a greater sense of certainty when contemplating closely examined objects while wearing these new spectacles. Things further away, however, are starting to seem a bit hazy.
Syd opens the door. Without getting too far into the room, he sees a dark, open space offering a view of the starry firmament of the night sky. Five telescopes mounted on bronze plates point toward the constellations above. In the middle of the space, a one-foot-diameter sphere of clear crystal sits in a circular brass stand. The floor of the room appears to be a grassy knoll.
Syd raises an eyebrow. Searching through the cobwebby unused corners of his memory, he seems to recall a grassy knoll being the location of some important historical event, but it eludes him for the moment. Or maybe it was a gassy gnoll?
Nevertheless, detecting no conspiratorial cover-ups, he enters the room, and gazes through one of the telescopes.
Ollezall enters the room, walking towards the centre of the room and gazes around. As Ollezall comes about, truly perceptive people may notice a faint glow in Ollezall's violet eyes, and under the illumination of starlight/ moonlight, flecks of exposed skin appear to catch and shimmer; as if pale silver skin wasn't enough to make an outsider of me, Ollezall might think. Ollezall pulls on his sleeves subconsciously as he notices the shimmer of his skin.
Passive perception 15. Ollezall casually looks for anything that catches his attention such as hidden doors in walls, or books on shelves.
Taking more notice of the crystal in the centre, Ollezall thinks he knows what this does, and will ask Cerlinde to look to see of she thinks changing the orientation of the crystal will change the constellations in the sky. Ollezall will also ask Dyumi if this is druidcraft he recognises .Ollezall will help Cerlinde/Dyumi with this check, and give them (both actually) guidance (roll 1d4 to add to the check).
Nevertheless, detecting no conspiratorial cover-ups, he enters the room, and gazes through one of the telescopes.
As Syd sidles up to one of the telescopes to take a peek, he feels the springy turf compress underfoot and the starry night sky is visible in all directions. When grasping the telescope, he finds that it easily swivels on its base and the angle can be changed as well. It appears to be quite finely crafted and the bronze housing has a lovely patina, as though it has aged through years of sitting outside in this lovely area. What would Syd like to look at through this instrument?

As Ollezall traverses the out of place outdoor space, he notices that anything more than 10 metres away seems slightly hazy or out of focus, while the night sky above is incredibly crisp and clear. The stars seem unnaturally bright, while the grass beneath Ollezall's feet feels just a bit off in the way it deforms and recovers as he walks on it. In his exploration of the space, it is notable that there are no shelves or books, or furniture of any kind. Even the door through which they entered can only be seen as a faint, shimmering outline. They truly appear to be in a natural, outdoor setting, even though Ollezall knows that to be impossible.
What would Syd like to look at through this instrument?
Assuming there are no open windows available for voyeuristic spying, Syd will aim the telescope heavenward. Do the stars here seem to match the map in the previous room? If so, he would try to locate one of the stylized silver stars, or even the central sunburst, and gaze at that. If not, he will just do some random planet peeping and stargazing.

Cerlinde enters the space with an expression of joy and wonder. She seems at home in the starlight. She carefully examines the crystal and experiments with it.
25 plus 3 for guidance. (Either an investigation or Arcana check, same bonus)
she will attempt to ascertain if we are actually on another plane from the rest of the demiplane, or just another space within it.

Having observed no windows, Syd scans the sky for the silvery stars and finds that there are five, just as there were on the star map in the previous room. However, there is no sunburst. Fixing the telescope on one of the stars, Syd observes that the star is shining very fiercely, with its light streaming intensely toward him. Backing away from the telescope, Syd can now see the light from the star creating a visible path through air, tracing first to the telescope and then from the telescope to the crystal sphere. The light seems to be captured in the sphere, causing it to glow slightly.

Coupled with Ollezall's observations, Cerlinde and he deduce that this apparent outdoor scene is merely a well-crafted illusion used to transform a room in the mansion. As Cerlinde is examining the crystal, she finds that it seems to be firmly fixed in place and can't be manipulated in any perceptible manner. It appears to lack any enchantment. Cerlinde is probably startled when the light beam resulting from Syd's use of the telescope causes the crystal to illuminate.
Feeling a bit reckless, Syd will proceed to one of the other telescopes, and train its lens on another of the silver stars. Unless any team members object, he will continue this process until each of the five telescopes is focused on one of the five stars.
(Thought I might get another post or two from the party during the EST overnight period, but I guess everyone's just waiting with bated breath.)
With each telescope that is aligned with one of the five silvery stars, a new beam appears, blazing through the darkness toward the crystal sphere. The sphere glows brighter and brighter as each beam arrives, mixing with the others in a brilliant maze of refraction within the crystal. As the final telescope is aligned and its corresponding beam strikes the crystal, a diffuse luminescence is cast from the sphere toward one of the horizons of the illusory meadow. At the farthest reach of this new glowing emanation, the party can now see the outline of a door, previously hidden from their investigative attempts.

There are no traps, but I believe only Syd has the ability to open the door, thanks to his well-timed epic fantasy reference and my decision to have the language be in Orc. It is magically sealed.
Upon Syd's proclamation of "Lug", the enchanted door swings slowly open, revealing a room that is bare except for a bookshelf covered in chains against one wall. The bookshelf also has a plain wooden bench and a reading desk built into it. A familiar book with the bust of a mage on its cover sits on the desk. The setup is reminiscent of the chained stacks found in Drusilla's Forest that the party encountered way back at the beginning of the adventure.
(I'm glad there's a word in Orcish for "friend"! ;-)
