Stena picks up a few words, and Lia begins to respond before being shushed.

Galingal slips back to where Jimjar, Neth, Kolose and Yuk Yuk are. He points upwards. "Darkmantle waiting. One caught in web. May be spider coming. Safe here for now."

Galingal turns back with his rapier out, standing guard at the entrance, listening for any sound that would indicate which way Stena went, or if they may be coming this way.

Perception: 9  

Galingal worryingly can see or hear nothing of Stena or the others. That may mean she dropped well beyond his ability to detect her, or that she's trying extra hard to be stealthy and go undetected, which if there are darkmantles and spiders about, wouldn't be the worst strategy.

Galingal settles back, waiting for whatever is coming along the web to become visible to him.

It's a few minutes, but his sharp eyes catch a twitching of the silk as a pair of legs come into range, 60 ft or so away, tapping and plucking at the silk. He no longer picks up on any scuttling of darkmantles, perhaps indicating they have frozen in the presence of a superior predator, or have already dropped off and flown away.

Galingal nudges Jimjar and the others, pointing, quietly, at the spider.

For now he waits to see if it comes closer.

It spends a few minutes laying some silk as the pair of you watch, before pausing and settling low and orienting somewhat in your direction. You tense as the spider leaps... above you, its body impacting the stone, some scrabbling and a gurgling chittering from something, then the continuous, repeated rustling that suggests that one of the darkmantles has been captured and is being bound in silk. If the spider above is wrapping and eating its prey, you may have a bit to wait until it departs.

Galingal sits quietly, waiting. They could probably take the spider, but without knowing how many more are lurking nearby it seems best to wait and then continue on quietly, hopefully finding Stena and the others in the process.

It seems ages, but eventually a shriveled silken bundle topples down, landing and bouncing on the silk outside the retreat you are all hiding in, and with no spider re-appearing, a while later you hope that it  has moved on, and isn't merely waiting you out while you try to wait it out.

Realizing they'll eventually need to make a move, Galingal slowly eases his head out of their hiding spot and looks up and around for the spider. If the coast is clear, he'll climb down and assist the others in getting down too, then listen for signs of Stena and the others.

The coast seems clear, not just of spiders and darkmantles, but also of halflings, kuo-toa, shiny humans, and dwarves of both varieties.

"Should be good to continue on, bruh. Spiderbait'll find the others, if they didn't fall through or get snagged by something.", Yuk Yuk says confidently. 

Stena keeps on keeping on.

Kolose is grateful to the pair of goblins as he follows along. Even if he truly does wonder if this couldn't all have been avoided if they had just been cordial... Or at least not attacked first-

The two smaller parties continue onward, carefully crossing strands of silk, the upper party based on Yuk Yuk's guidance, the lower party based on Stena's determined lead.

Galingal and those with particularly good hearing above hear a soft sliding sound that builds a bit before Spiderbait lands on the silk nearby. Alone.

"Totally spider food.", he shakes his head sorrowfully.

"All of them? Bummer dude.", Yuk Yuk asks.

"Fish dude and dwarf bro. Total bummer."

Galingal looks at Spiderbait.

"What about the others?" Galingal asks. "The angry dwarf, and the aasimar. Where are they?"

"Somewhere. Not sure yet."

The two confer in goblin, before Yuk Yuk expands, "He didn't spot them, found the duergar and the KT, but didn't see the dudettes or the little dude. He didn't want to get too far away, and let us know about the others, but will go look for them. Totally likely that they kept moving, bruh, we'll find 'em."
