Randall looks down at the headless leader. Probably for the best. Even if they had taken him back to some proper authority, the result would have been more work and then a noose for him. Still... something about cutting down someone who was at your mercy just left him feeling off.
Willing to take the surrendered man at his word, Randall starts to toss the tents, looking for anything of use... maps, books, weapons, etc. He is also wondering if there are clues as to what they guys were doing out here in the woods? Investigation: 14

Olaerys wipes his axe off and searches the pockets of the leader, looking for anything that could help them in their task. After that, he follows in the path of Randall, searching the tents, looking for anything that he calls “evidence.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
You come up with about 200 gold in assorted coins and jewelery; They appear to have been robbing people. Most of the tents are what yould expect from highwaymen but one tent is meticulous, and contains a book entitled "Powers of the Deep: a guide to the Elemental Plane of Water". There is also a note that lists the description of 5 people, descriptions that are clearly of you. The note is marked with a symbol, an X with a line connecting the bottom.
Olaerys takes the 200 gold and splits it evenly among the party. He flips through the Powers of the Deep : A guide to the elemental plane of water and then hands it to Melchor. He looks to Ankita and Melchor to decide who should have the scrolls. Lastly he looks at the note and the description, wanting to hear how they are described, particularly Shrek. He starts to chuckle.
”I think we should learn of this entrance to Rivergard Keep, but also I would like to visit Summit Hall to check on the Knights of Samular. What do the rest of you think?”

“What note say? Shrek can’t read. Does it say me handsome as heck?” as her preens and flexes his hairy pectorals.
When finished with his showing off, he continues “Shrek vote for taking little pipsqueak here to Rivergard. Shrek really smart inestiagator…err, envistige-tator…err, damn. What ever. Shrek gooder at figurin’ stuff out.”
Ankita thanks Olaerys for her share, looking to Melchor to see what scrolls he wants.
She looks over Olaerys's shoulder to read the descriptions and laughs, "Well, at least they got the fact I'm blue right. And yes, I'm good with going to Rivergard."
"Yeah," Randall says. "Rivergard next. I'm not happy that we walked right through their base and failed to realize they were wrapped up in this. Also... if these scrappers are any indication, they seem less dangerous than those Earth Cultists. This could be a warmup before we head back to the monastery and that temple beneath it."
After a pause...
"Hold on a second. Shrek - if you can't read, how in the Realms do you deliver mail?"

Shrek nervously laughs off Randall’s question, and tries to deflect the discussion away to another topic. “Shrek hungry too. Olaerys…you find any food? Need fill me belly before we head to River place and do more es-tigating!”
Hearing a rumble that sounds like an earthquake, Olaerys looks through his things for a ration to satisfy the hungry Goliath. He searches through the tents again for any leftover food to satisfy the postman’s grumbling stomach. ”Shrek, there will be more where we are going. This is just a snack to tide you over. Ok, on to Rivergard I guess. Hey you, shit for brains. (Looks at the warrior left alive) Have a seat, let’s rest here for a moment before we leave. What is your name by the way? We will head out shortly.”
Olaerys sits down to have a bite himself and a brief rest.
(Short rest ok here?)

Shrek is dumber than a rock, but I’m going to check to see if he thinks the warrior is lying or telling the truth-

There are 3 scrolls, labeled: Water Breathing, Absorb Elements, and Ice Knife
Options:
1) Go to Rivergard Keep with the bandit
2) Go to Summit Hall to see about assisting Renwick or get Knights of Samulars help
3) Go back to below the monestary
4) Back to Red Larch (or another town)
5) Go see what these hippogriff riders are all about
6) Anything else you feel like doing :)
Olaerys takes the 200 gold and splits it evenly among the party. He flips through the Powers of the Deep : A guide to the elemental plane of water and then hands it to Melchor.
