Concerned, Crom gestures for Calantha to be ready with her weapon in case it's a trick as he sheathes one of his swords and leans in to check the Bugbear's pulse.
As Crom checks the bugbear he sees a large pool of blood has gathered on the other side of the body. He double checks just to make sure, but just confirms that the bugbear must have bled out.
Calantha stands beside Crom, her sword unsheathed. However, the bugbear doesn't move. She looks at its unnaturally still form. It seems quite dead.
"Well, there goes that plan," she says. "Seems our only choice is to slay the remaining goblins in order to claim our friends' bodies. We stand a much better chance now that we are recovered."

Crom bows his head for a moment of silence as he kneels before the bugbear. He then stands and says to Ink and Calantha, "I'm with you on that. But we need to be smart. If they were able to best Ragnarok and Mal, then their numbers are not to be taken lightly. If we could find some oil, we could douse the bridge, bait our enemies out, and light it when they cross. Do any of you have oil on you? Or was there any lantern oil among the supplies you found, Ink?" Crom looks over at Chensica, wondering if she might have any on her. But unresponsive as she is, he is reluctant to search her pack without permission.

Crom puts a hand on Chensica's shoulder. "Don't worry, we're gonna get you out a' here," and then he turns to follow Calantha. Upon reaching the bridge, he removes his shoes and silently gestures to Calantha to pass him the flask. He then makes his way over to the rope, barefoot to dampen his footsteps, and unties it before beginning to spread the oil across the bridge, covering 5 square feet in the middle of the bridge.
I'm not getting as close as Ink did earlier, I think, but here is a stealth check if you need it.

Crom then returns to the safe side of the bridge by Calantha, unties the cloth around his now-healed leg wound, and uses it to wipe a few spatters of oil from his feet before replacing his shoes.
Calantha nods at Crom. Now it's time to lure the goblins onto the bridge. But they need to be ready to light it. She retrieves her torch from her pack and lights it with a spark from a flintstone. She turns back to Ink.
"Do you think Master Po can lure the goblins onto the bridge? As soon as they step onto the bridge, I'll throw my torch, and hopefully that will be the end of the nasty creatures!"

"Master Po? Possibly,"replies Ink. "He might need to snatch up something of importance in his mouth so the goblins will have a reason to chase after him."
He draws the tawny-colored weasel from his robe pocket. "Well, shall we then?"
Crom pulls out his bow and takes up position just around the bend of the path leading up to the bridge, prepared to lean out from behind his cover and fire at the goblins once the trap has been sprung. He nods to Ink and Calantha. "For Mal and Ragnarok,"he whispers, his voice firm with resolve.

Inksets his familiar on the cave floor and sends the little fellow into action. Closing his eyes and allowing himself to see and hear what Po sees and hears, he directs the weasel toward the goblins and the various items that are near them. (Stealth: 4)
(Does Ink see anything that Po can attempt to steal?)

As Poe walks up, the goblins are standing around the pile of goods and talking. Their voices have dropped from when Ink sneaked up before, but they are still discussing this pile and one of them reaches down to grab something. It looks like they've got small piles in front of each of them, but this one looks and sees Master Po as it bends down and it lets out a small shriek and picks up its bow and starts to take aim at the weasel.
(Go ahead and make stealth checks and take a turn. If you beat a 9 you get a surprise round. Then it is the parties turn, so surprise round people essentially take two turns at once.)
Crom levels his bow and fires at the first goblin he sees, and then turns and runs back toward the bridge, getting as far across as he can, readying another arrow as he goes.
His bag of tricks still nearly empty, Ink relies once again on his mind sliver cantrip. He speaks the spell's word twice, targeting the lead goblin each time...
First spell attack:1 psychic damage (on a failed DC14 INT save)
Second spell attack:4 psychic damage (on a failed DC14 INT save)
As fast as his legs can carry him then, he follows Crom toward the bridge.

The arrow flies past the goblin, it shrieks as it spots the waiting party, but continues charging. It makes a confused face as something infests its mind, but you can see it shaking its head as it continues charging, unaffected by the second invasion.

((So I take it we are not trying to light the oil on fire anymore?))
Calantha is only slightly disappointed that the plan didn't unfold correctly as she runs across the bridge to attack the first goblin she sees. She unsheathes her longsword and slashes at the nasty creature.
Attack 18 / Damage 9

The closest goblin is still chasing after the elf that shot arrows at them and does not see Calantha, who springs out and strikes it down in one slash, blood spraying on the cave walls. As the goblin falls dead, you can see behind it the rest of them charging towards you all.

The bugbear doesn't stir, standing this close you realize it doesn't seem like it is breathing.

Ink nods in agreement with Calantha. "We shall do this."
Crom bows his head for a moment of silence as he kneels before the bugbear. He then stands and says to Ink and Calantha, "I'm with you on that. But we need to be smart. But unresponsive as she is, he is reluctant to search her pack without permission.
Staring ahead blankly with arms wrapped around her, Chensica reaches into her pack and throws out a flask of oil without looking up.
Calantha picks up the flask of oil. "Brilliant idea, Crom," she says excitedly. "Let's light those bastards up, make them pay for Mal and Ragnarok!"
She notices the way the poor halfling woman Chensica is still almost catatonic and then adds, "For Chensica too."
She starts heading off in the direction of the bridge, glancing back over her shoulder to make sure Ink and Crom are following.

Eager to bring a conclusion to this foray into the goblin caverns, Ink treads lightly behind Crom.
