"Nice to meet ya!" again parroting back the most recent voice, Klurch stops for a moment to ponder the right words "I had a,Friend, He said'My sister disappeared when the family home was burnt down and killed my mother' we asked around, WATERDEEP, they said she, kidnapped!, taken to, Phandalin, likely by a gang, Klurch and friend, Separated, on the walk to, Phandalin" recounting his story and especially the recent separation from his friend Klurch deflates slightly letting a small amount of sadness wash over his face before smiling again and awaiting a response.
For anyone wishing to insight;
Klurch is trying to hide his emotions currently because he feels very alone, as you look closer at his body language he seems very young, if he is an adventurer then he is very very new at it. but doesn't want to outwardly seem like he desperately need help.
Ink's face shows that he is sifting through what Klurch has just said. "So your sister has been taken captive by a gang of some sort, and you were separated from your friend during the journey between Waterdeep and Phandalin."
After a pause, Ink adds, "That stretch of road didn't show us an overabundance of kindness either."
Ink, aside, then speaks to Calantha and Crom, making sure to keep his voice low. "Gundren's been captured, and now this fellow's sister has been captured. Coincidence?"
"Friend, had a sister..." Klurch corrects Ink, "but you have,Captured, PERSON, Too? Have you gotten any, Clues? any, LEADS?" as Klurch continues speaking several voices come up again and again,
One deep and timbered voice of a wiser older male than Klurch (Grey),
and one that sounds more youthful and angry, quicker to be hasty, the voice of Klurch's missing friend (red)
"Not so much in the sense that we captured someone, but more so that they were captured, and now we have them." Crom thinks for a moment, scratching his chin. "We... are pursuing some suspicious goings on in the area, and people have gone missing, but there's no guarantee it's related to your friend's sister. Did did this friend or his sister..."Crom picks his words carefully, "happen to have any connection with dwarves?"
"Dwarves!?, not that I know... I have heard rumours, OF, the area, Though.
It may be connected! MAYBE, If we find your, Gundren, We may find, My friend's, SISTER. Do you have need of anything?Whats yer names?"
As he asks, using the different cherry picked voices of his past and current company, he gestures more toward Crom and Calantha than Ink who has already introduced himself by name.
Calantha smiles at the kenku's strange speech patterns. They are a bit confusing, but she also finds Klurch strangely endearing. She's not exactly an expert at reading kenku body language, but something about his demeanor makes her think he is on the younger side. Without Mal and Ragnarok, they are short two adventurers so in her eyes it only makes sense to accept more help, even from an unexpected source.
"Apologies, Klurch, for not introducing myself sooner. My name is Calantha," she says. "I for one would not turn down your help. Perhaps our investigations are linked and searching for Gundren or your friend's missing sister will lead us to both of them."
As Calantha utters the words I for one would not turn down your help, Ink nods in agreement. He then looks at the half-orc inquisitively and says, "Crom?"
"Hmm? Me? Oh yeah, I've no issues with an extra set of eyes and an extra pair of hands. M'name's... well, as Ink here just said, it's Crom. Welcome to the team, Klurch!"
Here Crom has been, feeling sorry for himself as an outsider. But until this morning, he hasn't even had a word for what Klurch is. Crom is eager to receive some help on their dangerous task, and if he is being honest, he is intrigued by their newest addition.
"thank you, Calantha, Crom, Ink. walking these roads alone can be treacharous, I am Klurch Quaark cleric of the temple of Aerdrie Faenya on the elemental plane of air my task here is to help the material plane in any way I can!"
the last sentance is a flowing practiced one that Klurch seems to have recited (a little too fast) in the wise old male voice a few times, it comes out unbroken and uninterrupted, there is an air of pride as Klurch's back straightens and he looks up prideful whilst reciting it.
"Well this is a bit awkward, but one of the first items is burying a couple of our former companions. Though it would actually be nice to have a cleric looking over the proceedings."
Klurch unbuttons the leather straps on his side that hold a sky blue tome in place at his hips and slowly raises the book to hold it tightly against his chest "If I can have, TIME,Preparing today's spells, I'll offer my services"
He looks around for somewhere to rest before nodding towards the tavern and continuing, "If you would,PREPARE,Former companions, I shall be waiting, Here, when yer ready."
You lead the wagon just across the road towards Barthen's Provisions and as you're getting off you see a young man looking at you from the door. A few moments later an older man joins him and waves at you, "Greetings! I recognize one of my wagons when I see it, you must be delivering Gundren's goods?" You see him straining around the sides of the cart, "Where is that old good-for-nothing?" He says this with a big smile as he looks over the three of you.
Calantha steps forward with a solemn expression on her face. "I'm afraid we have a bit of bad news. We've brought your goods here safe and sound, but we had a bit of trouble on the way. It seems Gundren may have been taken by goblins."
Calantha studies the pair of men and concludes they are a father and son. "Apologies, my name is Calantha. These are my companions Crom and Ink. We were hired by Gundren and Sildar. Sildar is recovering from his injuries in the inn across the way."
The young man had already started to move towards the wagon, looking to unload it. At Calantha's words he stops and stares and you see the older man go a bit slack jawed. At Ink's words he gathers himself and says, "Well I'm glad to hear you're going to find him. He's a good dwarf and I hope he's alright." He thinks for a moment and then shakes his head, "Can't say I've heard of a Castle Cragmaw, you honestly might have better luck with Gundren's brothers! Nundro and Tharden, they've been camped somewhere outside of town, but..." He thinks for a moment and then shakes his head, "I haven't seen them in a tenday... they should be by any day now to resupply." He looks over towards the cart at that and says, "Your payment! Come in while I fetch you your coin." He leads you into his shop where you see many different goods on the walls behind a counter as he walks behind it. He squats down behind the counter and you hear the clinking of coins, standing up he places three small belt pouches on the counter and says, "Ten gold each! As promised!"
"Yeah..."Crom says, not reaching for his pouch yet. "I don't know that we can wait that long. People have been going missing, and we don't want this Nundro and Tharden to join their number. If you know where they set out from, we can go try to pick up the trail. If they've been making regular trips back and forth, they'll have left their mark"
"Oh and listen, while we're here, think I could trouble you for a bundle of arrows and two flasks of oil? I happen to have coin." He smiles sheepishly at his own attempt to lighten the mood with a little joke. Looking at Ink and Calantha, he says "You two want anything? now's probably the time to stock up."
Ink shakes his head. "Nothing for me, Crom. I'll save the gold for now."
After placing the coins in his purse, Ink says to Calantha and Crom, "Meet with Klurch and say farewell to Rag and Mal? Then off to find Gundren's brothers?"
Calantha thanks the merchant and takes her pouch of gold, adding it to her meager coinpurse. It's a start, she thinks. Anything to keep me one step ahead of Dex and his thugs.
She nods at the gnome. "That sounds like a plan to me."
Turning back to Barthen, she says, "I'll take a Healer's Kit if you have any available."

"We do intend to find Gundren," adds Ink. "A place known as Castle Cragmaw might be where we begin the search. Have you any knowledge of it?"
