Before the caravan started up again, Ariana shared what she saw during her watch with everyone, repeating that they're in no apparent danger, but to keep an eye out for them at night.
When she gets the gold pieces, she smiles wide and pockets them. Ariana has grown comfortable with, and perhaps even fond of, this group. She's ready to continue the adventure with them, waiting for someone to take the lead and suggest the next course of action.
Kulogall takes his 50 gold and smiles, puts it in his pack. "Thank you Isadore, it was a pleasure working with you. A little too ... busy.. for my liking, but I'm glad that we could help."
After he says goodbye to the dwarf, he turns to everyone and says, "Look, I need to share something with you all, but I can't right here and without some ale in my stomach. Or two or three. I do hope that we can stay together, I think we function well as a team, and I genuinely like all of you." This comes out as a little stiff and formal, but you can all tell (Insight DC 2) that he truly means it.
"I saw something in my dream that night after my watch, and I think that I need to discuss it with you all. How about we head to the Wicker Goat? I'm buying the first round." He turns to Daveth and says "You too, you fit in nicely with us, please come as well. Unless you still feel too baaaaa-d." Then you hear the tall Triton laughing, a weird guttural laugh coming through his gills.
Ruby blushes at the praise from Daveth, not really knowing how to respond. "Of course I was scared. I would never fight such a beast head on, I was lucky to have these guys take it´s attention away, would´ve been it´s dinner if I was alone." She says as she looks at everyone and a huge smile appears on her face.
"I am definitely up for some drinks!"Says Ruby after pocketing the gold, feeling intruiged by what Kulogall has to tell them and happy that maybe their adventure is not over yet. She tries not to but giggles at the joke anyway.
All - With coin pouches bulging and Daveth and Larby in tow, you bid farewell to the mine and continue northward along the coast. The salty sea breeze is invigorating and it's another beautiful morning. The view of the Trackless sea is splendid, you all can't help but admire its beauty as you venture forth. You find yourselves in good spirits, chatting and jesting with one another as the day winds to an end. Another camp is set up and more merriment is had. Elwyn is at his best, entertaining you all with hilarious renditions of your experiences thus far. His lute sings beautifully as the sun sets and the stars begin to shine. You all stay up a bit later this night, perhaps subconsciously not wanting the revelry to end, but eventually the weariness of a ten-day of travel and a few close calls sets in. Watches are established and those not keeping watch fall asleep quickly. The night passes uneventfully and though you all sleep in a bit later than you have been, you're back on the road again by mid-morning. A few hours after setting out, Larby tells you all the path will diverge soon, one leading on to Saltmarsh and the other to his village. You find the fork in the road and Larby thanks you all for helping him again and for the company. He turns to head home, but Daveth stops him, "Wait, Larby! Just hold on for a second, okay?" He turns back to the group and says, "What did we decide about the junk that elf was trying to sell us? Are we going to give it to Larby?"
Kulogall says "Yes, I thought it best that Larby have the items and sell them, or study them further. I wouldn't want any of us to try and use the junk that charlatan was selling. Unless someone feels differently about it?"

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
As they move north along the Trackless sea Elwyn occasionally looks out over the ocean, almost like he is expecting to suddenly see something out there, but then quickly returning to another tale, now about the Storm giant fortress Maelstrom that according to legend rests somewhere on its floor.
"Well...I admit I was a bit curious about using that stone, but I know what they say about curiosity, you all decide." Elwyn says to the others.
"I think it would be best that Larby keeps the items. But I would like to take one or two of those weird mushrooms, if that's not a problem?" She asks, realising how that sounded she adds: "I wouldn't use them on anyone! Just thought they could come in handy."
All - Larby accepts the items and bids you all farewell. You watch as he whistles and heads homeward, waving the wand around as he goes. You take the left path and continue on your way. You top a rise and see Saltmarsh below and before you. The Trackless sea stretches out to the horizon on your left. Nearer to land the sea is churned into foam at the base of the cliffs on which you stand, and laps against the wood and stone of the many docks that line the Saltmarsh shore.
You all approach the town of Saltmarsh from the east, walking along the dirt path that hugs the cliffs at the top of the above map. The first structure you pass appears to be a temple. Daveth chuckles a bit as he sees it and smiles to you all. You see a symbol in bas-relief above the heavy steel-banded wooden doors, it resembles the prow of a boat cutting through the ocean, with foaming waves of water curling left and right.
A successful DC 10 Religion or History check will reveal the following:
The symbol is commonly used throughout The Sword Coast to represent Umberlee, Goddess of the Sea.
Behind the temple stands a field of tombstones and monuments surrounded by a simple fieldstone wall, the graveyard of Saltmarsh. Further up ahead on the same side of the street you see a wooden building with a red roof. A small porch sits in front of the building and a wooden sign swings on a couple short lengths of rusty chain from the porch roof. The sign says Winston's and the establishment appears to be a general store of sorts. The road continues westward at a slight decline and you see that the buildings become more and more numerous along the street as it snakes its way toward the center of town. What would you like to do?
Ariana squints at the symbol on the temple, and after a few seconds, a look of recognition washes over her face.
Ariana jingles the gold pieces in one of her pockets and asks timidly, "Can we stop in at this shop, Kulogall? I'll be quick, and then on to the tavern."
Wake hesitates and stops walking before crossing in front of the temple. “I may be a source of conflict in this community as Selune is in direct opposition to the Bit… err… the Queen of the Depths.” He says in a distasteful tone.
”I would prefer not to hide my Holy Symbol, but sometimes discretion is preferable. I don’t want to make trouble for you fine folk.”
If there is no objection, Wake will drape his blanket over his shield to conceal the filigreed silver eyes and seven stars.

"Queen of the Depths? Can't say I've heard of her." She says while looking at the symbol. "Is she a patron of sailors or something?" She asks Wake who seems to know a lot more than she does.
”She is a lesser goddess of chaos and fear. Vain and evil for evil’s sake. Superstitious sailors pay homage to her to appease her fury. It is understandable for those who make their lives from the sea, but it is critically short-sighted as her influence ceases at the shoreline.”

"Oh, he's just referring to the ***** queen Umberlee, Ruby. You´ve heard me singing her shanties, they're well known along the Sword coast. But as Wake says, she is mostly worshiped out of fear, and can you really blame the fishermen for fearing her wrath. Sailors know that when storms hit their ships, and the winds or waves carries sinister cold laughter or hissing words, they are facing the cruel goddess herself." Elwyn says to Ruby in a dramatic tone at the end, while waiting for Ariana outside Winston's.
Ariana enters the shop and looks around at the various wares.
"Excuse me. Do happen to sell tools for..." she trails off, realizing that what she's asking for might cast her in a bad light, and in a strange town at that. Perhaps that's not a wise thing to do before establishing yourself as the hero you hope to be, she thinks. She decides to wait on what she really wants.
"... fighting beasts?" She blushes. "My friends and I are new to town and were attacked on the road. I'd like some daggers I could throw."
"And a suggestion on the best tavern. We'd like some ale as we rest from our journey."
All - Daveth raises an eyebrow and looks back at the temple to Umberlee as Wake answers Ruby's question. He turns back around with a frown on his face, "A place of worship for an evil goddess? I guess drowning men will pray to Asmodeus himself if it would save their lives..." Daveth's consternation evaporates quickly in the presence of the general store. "Yes!" He turns to you all and excitedly says, "I need clothes that fit!" Daveth quickly marches forth and into the general store without waiting for permission or a reply. Any that would follow him inside will find a large, open room with tables and shelves full of various supplies. Two large windows in the front of the shop provide ample sunlight to fill the space and offer a dazzling view of the sea. An older halfling man sits behind a counter top in the back of the room, his booted feet propped up on the counter. He says, "Hail and welcome to Winston's. I've solid goods at honest prices. Let me know if you've any questions." His attention is focused on the paint brush and wooden ship he has in his hands as he carefully applies a stroke of bright red paint to the hull of the vessel. He holds the model out and rotates it a bit before blowing on the paint he just applied. Winston drops his feet from the counter top and sets down his hobby supplies. He looks to Ariana with dark brown eyes and smiles, "Aye Miss, I have a fine selection of pretty tools for ugly work. To your left past the maps and cartography supplies. As for the best tavern, well that depends..." He looks to you all and smiles again. You see that his face is weathered and scarred in spots. His nose appears to have been broken more than once, leaving his profile rather flat when viewed from the side. He has thin blonde hair that he collects in a short ponytail. "Generally, most folks here in town are suspicious of outsiders. Lately, they can be outright hostile. If you're looking for a place to do some carousing you can find that and more at The Empty Net, though the clientele are... unsavory. To put it bluntly, it's a haven for smugglers, mercenaries, assassins, and pirates. Town guard only goes there if called and it doesn't sit too high on their priority list. The Snapping Line is a respectable and popular Inn and Tavern. Can't say I care much for the décor, but out of town folk find it charming or something I suppose. Mostly a haunt for sailors and fishermen. You can expect a decent room at a decent price and though it's decidedly less rowdy than The Empty Net, I'd caution you to be mindful of what you say. Like I said, folks around town have been testy since the mining operation started and the crown decided it needed to take an interest in the affairs of the area. The Wicker Goat is probably the safest space for outsiders such as yourself. It's the oldest tavern in town and the most welcoming I'd say. Miners and off-duty town guardsmen tend to make it their preferred watering hole. There's rooms to let upstairs and it's on the outskirts of town so it's a sight quieter than the other two." Daveth finds himself a couple of sets of clothes, a set of hide armor, and a simple but well made longsword. Winston accepts Daveth's coin and gives him his change before making an entry in a thick ledger, "Okay, thank you very much young man." Winston turns to Ariana and says, "How many daggers would you like Miss?" Winston carries a fair amount of supplies found in the Player's Handbook at their listed prices. There are some things listed that he does not carry though. Feel free to list the items you'd like to purchase and I'll let you know if it's available or not.
Ariana replies, "The Wicker Goat. Of course. It's been recommended to us before. Thank you for the information."
She peruses the items in the location to which the old halfling directed her. She runs her hand over various shiny new kits and tool sets, especially the thieves' tools and disguise kit, but decides again not to spend the money. She looks at the plain daggers and shortswords, but nothing catches her eye.
After Daveth pays for his goods, Ariana takes the opportunity to exit without buying anything. She says cheerfully, "Thanks again, Winston!"
“Hello. I would be interested in a pair of boots. Or possibly upgrading my entire outfit with Traveler’s Clothes. I also would be interested in a Healer’s Kit, if you carry those.” Wake informs the proprietor.

"Yes, gold well earned I would say." Elwyn says smiling and pockets his pay before taking farewell of the dwarves.
"Excelllent, revels with ale and a good tale." Elwyn says as Kulogall finishes. "Lead on Kulogall."
