"No I don´t think you did." She says as she slowly aproaches the big majestic creature in front of her, slowly petting it after it calmed down.
"You seem to know a lot about animals." Ruby says to Elwyn almost admiring what he just did. "I am not very good with animals as big as this guy, guess the rider chose the right person to watch over his mount. I definitely would´t be able to keep it calm."
Wake - The City Watchman turns his attention back to the man in front of him. The gnome groans and writhes in pain, hands clenching and unclenching the now bloody cloak beneath him. His legs are obviously broken and judging from the amount of blood across his face and in his hair you're sure he has a laceration or two somewhere, though you wonder about internal injuries.
Make a Medicine check to ascertain the extent of the injuries.
Elwyn - The large beast stops pulling and vigorously sniffs the morsel of dried meat in your hand. It's about that time that you take notice of just how sharp its beak appears to be... Blessedly, a wet tongue darts out from its mouth and snags the treat. You pull your hand back quickly and the griffon begins investigating your pockets earnestly until it is distracted by Ruby.
Ruby - You see a feral intelligence and curiosity in the griffon's eyes as you approach. Tentatively, with outstretched hands, you gently brush your hand along the feathers on its neck. The griffon bristles a bit a first, unsure of the strange woman touching its neck, but calms and allows you to continue petting it. You pull your hand back and the griffon whines and runs its large head under your hand again, clearly wanting you to continue.
Elwyn & Ruby - The horse and carriage pass at a brisk pace, both horse and driver keeping a wary eye on the griffon. After a few minutes the City Watchman returns. "Thanks again," He says as he takes the reins. He smiles and lets Ruby pet the griffon a bit more before climbing back atop his mount. "Here, for your trouble." He tosses you each a silver coin before taking flight.
"Oh, you think this one is big. Then you should know there are beasts called mammoths up north in Ice wind dale. I've heard they're so big that the Frost giant jarl Snurre had one as a mount and accidentally levelled an entire camp of Elk tribe Reghed nomads witout even noticing them." Elwyn tells his halfling friend, clearly exaggerating somwhat as usual. "Now where did that city watchman go. We don't want to be late for that caravan, or they might start off without us Ruby."He says, looking for the rider to come back.
"Well that was an adventure my friend. Let's go on to that caravan now and hope we have no more interruptions. Still, you can´t really be surprised by anything in the city of wonders." Elwyn says smirking as they head on to the meeting. "Did I tell you about that time one of the walking statues of the city went off sleep walking one night..."
"Oh right the caravan" Says Ruby as she pockets the silver coin, her mind wondering how big a mammoth must be and hoping they never get to meet it. "We should probably pick up the pase a bit then." She says as she walks side by side with Elwyn.
Wake - As you finish your prayer a sense of calm washes over you. You feel a comforting presence and instinctively look upward. The moon still hangs in the morning sky, though close to slipping below the buildings across from you. Your mind is calm and clear in the midst of the storm around you. A quick inspection reveals a large laceration on the man's scalp above his right ear. In fact, the ear hangs down along with the fold of skin it's attached to, revealing bleeding muscle beneath it. Both his legs are broken, the right leg broken twice below the knee and the left femur bulges sickeningly through the meat of his thigh. You attention feels pulled in another direction though, like the tidal effect of the moon. You carefully feel for the man's pulse with your fingers. It's erratic and weak. You gently bring your ear to his chest and hold your breath as you focus on the sound of his heartbeat. Something is wrong, seriously wrong. The heart sounds like a drowning man thrashing to stay above water.
You believe the man's heart has been displaced within his chest, likely forced aside by the collision. Possible torn valves and pinched arteries. He probably only has minutes of life left in him.
A larger than normal Triton wearing a blue robe and worn tan traveling pants is standing beside the second wagon. He holds a quarterstaff and has 2 daggers in his belt. He seems distracted at first, missing the initial conversation between Ariana and Isadore. He gaze appears to be on something in the distance, far away. He holds his left hand up to his temple, closes his eyes, an imperceptible shake of his head, and then he opens his eyes and focuses on his surroundings. A single word escapes his mouth subconsciously during this, "Xolo" you hear him say, just above a whisper. Then his eyes clear and he is looking around, taking it all in.
"Hello, Ariana, it is nice to meet you in person. I have heard of your martial arts skills when I was given this assignment. I shall be helping you on this journey. If you would like I can ride in the second or third wagon." He turns and nods to Isadore, saying "And a pleasure to meet you sir. My name is Kulogall. I will be riding with you to Saltmarsh." He pauses, saying "If any bandits think of robbing us, they will certainly "get more than they have been bargaining for" as you say. I used to work for the coast guard of Alaron and I can certainly defend myself and others. Is everything in order? I think there were others who were assigned to our wagon team, am I correct?"

Wake lifts his head from the man’s chest and looks into his eyes. He smiles once more, hoping to give him hope or at least a friendly last visage before he slips from this mortal realm. He then focuses his spirit to become a healing conduit for his diety.
Moonmaiden, help me. Is the quick mental prayer Wake makes as he begins the casting of Cure Wounds. His hands weave in the air and words, not arcanic or celestial but some combination perhaps, are uttered in a tone of reverence. His face turns upwards and eyes close momentarily.
Towards the end of the casting, Wake places one hand on the gnome’s chest and the other on the side of his head.
Healing energy flows into the man to knit him together and restore him. (7 hp)
Wake takes a deep breath. “Thank you, our Lady of Silver.” He says before looking again into the man’s eyes and saying with a smile. “Now then, let’s see how we did.”
Wake will again call upon guidance to aid in his medical assessment.
Ariana can't hide the look of confusion that crosses her face when the triton suggests that he's heard of her and that he knew details about the job. She thinks, as if speaking to Wesley, Why does it seem that everyone else knows more about this job than me? Ah. Perhaps Bravid got the details and kept them from me. I guess it's another lesson to learn, Wesley.
At the thought of Bravid, her confused look is replaced with a strong sense of resolve. Just below the level of thought is the idea that Bravid told this merchant that she had excellent martial arts skills, and a pulse of pride washes through her. She makes eye contact with the triton and answers his question with a shrug rather than words, motioning to either wagon.
Kulogall sees Isadore starting to look under the second wagon at the axle, he squats down and has a look as well, also looks under the first and third wagon, examining for any similar damage or other issues that would need repair. "I see you are looking underneath, is the wagon damaged? Let's have a look before we head out."
Perception : 10
As he stands up, Kulogall looks at Ariana and sees the shrug when he asks about which wagon. "Maybe I'll sit in the third wagon, bringing up the rear." Underneath his robes, he points a finger at Ariana and says to her in a message, "I can communicate this way, so that we can scout areas silently and communicate back. I find that it is very useful."
Ariana's eyes go wide. She sits up straight and stares at Kulogall. She thinks, "Wha... how..."Then realizing that he may be able to hear her thoughts, she whisper-thinks, "What a neat trick. It will be quite useful, Cool-oh...call." She trails off and tries to play it cool, but can't hide her admiration for the triton.
Kulogall - As you approach you see a Dwarven man standing next to a tall woman with long white hair. You hear him say the name "Ariana..." clearly referring to the woman but most of what else they are saying is lost to you as a trio of horses gallops by. The riders appear to be of the City Watch, two men-at-arms and a cleric by the look of it. After they pass, you see the Dwarven man and the woman looking under the second wagon. The man turns to you as you approach and says, "Must be another escort, hold on..." before pulling out his spectacles and list of names. He nods as you tell him your name and says, "Glad to have ye Kulogall, but we might have a bit of a problem here..." and he squats down to peer at something under the wagon. You also take a look and see that the front axle is clearly very rusted.
Arians & Kulogall - Isadore takes one look at the axle and says, "Aw, hell! It's this damn humidity and salt air. Eats up metal better than a gray ooze." He then places his hands on his hips and spits before continuing, "I don't suppose either of you got any magic about you? A couple castings of mending should set it right."
Kulogall looks down, somewhat disappointed, in himself. "I do not know how to do that magic. I can do many other things, but that is not one of them. Can we use two wagons for the trip, readjust the load? Or do you know anyone that can replace the axle?"

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Wake - The gnome gasps and his eyes open wide as the healing magic settles on him, soft as moonlight. You see the flesh mend on his head beneath your hand and his breathing becomes steady. You look back at his legs and watch as they are outlined in a gentle glow that intensifies until it becomes hard to look at. When it fades you see his legs appear to be healed. You check his pulse again and find a steady, strong rhythm. The gnome sits up and touches his legs, then looks up to you, "You healed me? Thank... Thank you..." He takes a deep breath and stands, shakily at first, so you reach out and steady him. "Well... Doesn't look like I'll be heading to Saltmarsh today..." He says as he looks over the twisted wreckage of whatever contraption he was piloting. "I've gotta make this right. But the caravan leader should know I won't be coming along. You've already done more than I could repay, but if you aren't too busy, do you think you could head up to the North Gate and let Isadore Ironkettle know that Gimble Geargrease won't be making it? Here..." Gimble finds and pulls a pouch from beneath a piece of wreckage. He hands it to you and says, "For your help. Thank you again." He then heads over to the City Watchman and the irate man, leaving you with the pouch in hand.
Wake accepts the thanks (for Selune …), the pouch, and the assignment with a slight bow. “I’m glad I could help” he says as he brushes the dust off his knees after regaining his feet. He looks around at the wreckage to confirm no one else is injured then excuses himself from the scene. “I’ll leave you folks to the cleanup. I have another duty to address.”
Only after walking away and approaching the cordoned off boundary will Wake slow his gait and open the pouch to inspect its contents. After, he will make his way to the North Gate.
Pleased with his ability to bring honor to Selune his stride and attention is interrupted when he steps on an oddly shaped rock in the roadway. I really must replace these cloth wrappings with something more suitable.
Kulogall & Ariana - Isadore shrugs and says, "Might have to adjust the load and go with two wagons..." He strokes his beard thoughtfully as he thinks out loud, "That'd put a strain on the mules though... We'd have to rotate 'em out along the way, some folks would have to walk... We'll definitely arrive later than we're supposed to." He then sighs and says, "Let's wait for the rest of the escorts to arrive and decide together. I think I see a couple of 'em now, hail!" Isadore waves to a half-elven man and a halfling woman coming up the street.
Elwyn & Ruby - The two of you continue on your way toward the North Gate, Elwyn chatting the whole way and Ruby diligently listening. You arrive at the North Gate to find a group of people standing around a trio of wagons. A Dwarven man with black hair waves and calls out to you. He introduces himself as Isadore Ironkettle. He checks his list and informs you both of the situation with the axle. "Any ideas? We can split the load between two wagons, it'll make for slow going though and our route isn't the most well patrolled. We'll be an easy target. But, I guess that's what you're here for isn't it?"
Wake -
You open the pouch and find 5 gold pieces inside.
You also head over to the North Gate and find the caravan. A Dwarven man introduces himself as Isadore and asks, "You must be Gimble?"
