“Belial does not permit me any medicinal talents, only those that do harm to others, if only they would stay still long enough!” Weber says to Gus frustrated at himself being unable to hit anything. He moves again to a better position and releases another blast of infernal energy.
Durthon steadies himself, shakes his head to clear his thoughs and mutters a prayer to Hanseath. His hands glow for a second as he casts healing word upon himself, healing for 4. Finally he grabs the warhammer firmly and swings at the bugbear again. Attack: 7 Damage: 7
The large bugbear attempts to dodge the sweep of the legs, he almost makes it but slips and falls with such force his head cracks like a whip on the stone floor. He's out cold at best, worst case he'll never get up again...
Gus’ shoulders slump slightly as he realises the fight is over, letting the weight of his hammer hit the stone floor.
He turns to the others, “You all okay?”
He prods the bugbear slightly with his toe, “He still looks alive. We should tie him up and and take a rest. If he wakes up, we c’n question him about this weird place. An’ why he was torturing that poor dragon upstairs.”
Weber rummages through his pack and pulls out a length of rope. “I’ll see about securing the bugbear, if someone wants to check on that” he points in the direction the new voice came from and begins tying up the bugbear.
"Cheers Web'. I'll go find out who's comin'. And see if this is a safe place for us t'rest up." Gus manages a smile at his friend as he hefts his hammer again.
He cautiously walks toward the passageway, looking for whomever shouted.
The floor of this rough cavern is stained and smells of blood and animal musk. Light from glowing fungus reveals the eastern niche, which holds a pallet of matted furs, a wide wooden board on which a variety of weapons are affixed, and a great cloak of patchy black fur hung on a slender pole. To the edge of the niche are two large nests made of hair, dry fungus, and refuse.
You also happen to see a gnome trapped in a too small cage, looks like he was on the menu...
“By Oghma, what’s with this lot and locking up innocent people and creatures?” Gus speaks disdainfully when he sees the gnome. Taking his hammer, he smashes the lock to free the captive.
”How did you come to be here, friend.” He asks kindly, approaching the bedding to investigate the mentioned stash.
The gnome unfolds himself out of the cage... he appears quite calm, almost amused, as he stretches and looks around...
You find a strongbox with numerous (240 or so) silver coins and 54 gold coins.
"I am quite happy you all came along. I wasn't worried of course but this shave was a bit close than I expected"
“Months past, I was on my way to find a dragon, I had no idea why but it came to me in a dream, I took the Old Road. My bad luck that the goblin bandits caught me; I’ve been here ever since. My deity’s blessings have kept me healthy; otherwise I’m sure I’d be dead from starvation and abuse.”
Durthon looks at Weber tying up the fallen bugbear and replies to the gnome "just barely enough to answer questions later. About the goblins, we fought some and bribed a couple. We were looking for a pair of humans that got lost around here before getting tangled with the goblins and kobolds. Have you seen them?"
"The goblins caught three of them over a month ago, and they were captives with me for a while. They said their names were Talgen, Sharwyn, and Sir Braford. The goblins kept them about a week before they removed them. Belak wanted them, and that's the last I've heard about that."
"You can ask all the questions you want, the goblins and he can't be trusted. They will kill us when we try to leave. Oh well, I am sure it will all work out."
Once he is happy with the bindings on the bugbear, Weber checks the creature over once more to ensure it is still alive, before attempting to drag it into the room with the rest of the party.
Atillia easily ducks his clumsy attack!
New round!

from the passageway in the direction the bugbear came from you hear someone yelling...
"Hello??!?! Is anyone out there???"
Durthon checks himself before turning to Gus "I think everything's in the right place."
Coming closer to the fallen bugbear, he kicks the spiked mace away from their foe.

Looking around, you see..
Two spears, six javelins, one longsword, one greatsword are affixed to the weapon rack.
The gnome speaks:
"He keeps his stash in his bedding!"
ooc: Please level up as well!

"How did you all get past the goblins?"
points to the bugbear...
"Is he still alive?!?!"
