Caine rests one hand on the hilt of his rapier as the feral looking person comes up to them.
”Oh this gets better and better,” Caine says. Then he calls over to the lunatic. “Um. Hey. Can you tell us where we are?”
Then Caine notices the ground moving. He steps back, trying his best to still look dashing and brave whilst clearly not wanting anything to do with a bunch of moving twigs.
As he waits for a response from the lunatic, he starts fishing in his pack for a torch.
Razi moves up beside Caine. He holds his lit hammer high but does his best to maintain a non-threatening posture. "We come in peace, Strange One. We seek Madame Eva. Is this the way?"

Razi steps forward, lit hammer still held high. "Please. Whatever madness plagues you, be still." Turning toward the crawling twigs, his smile and gentle words for the madman falls away and his eyes grow cold with contempt. He extends his left hand, utters "Sanction," and a golden ray of light erupts from his palm and shoots toward the twig monsters. Attack: 10 Damage: 8

Another shiver goes up Caine's spine. He back pedals to make sure he stays out of the grasp of the lunatic, pulling his bow off his back as he does. In one smooth motion, he plucks an arrow from his quiver, nocks it and lets it fly at the center of the lunatic.
Short Bow Attack: 10 Damage: 7
@DM
I don't think Caine was close to the lunatic to be in melee range, but if he was, I would adjust the above, not wanting to trigger an opportunity attack. Likewise, I don't think anyone else was either, so no sneak attack bonus here.
