"What are you doing?" Jim shouts over the noise of the chanting. He then runs on to the altar grabbing hold of Nelyna's arms. "Don't just stand there. Help me!"

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Caine watches in horror as the pile of garbage and debris in the corner of the room comes to life. He then watches in even more horror as instead of doing the smart thing and all getting the heck out of there, Sleet charges the pile of vines and trash and tries to stab it with his sword.
"I'm suggesting a strategic but really damn fast retreat," Caine says to the others as he fumbles with his bow.
Should have just killed the damn dog, he thinks to himself.
Caine keeps his wits about him enough to see how quickly the shambling mound of decay moves. Or rather more accurately, how much slower it moves than the rest of them.
"If we get up to the attic, it will take forever to get up those stairs and we can rain down arrows and dollhouses and whatever else we find," Caine shouts.
Being already by the exit to the chamber, Caine turns and bolts back into and then through the 'trinket' room and then out the other side and up the stairs. He slips his bow off his shoulder and grabs an arrow out as he runs.
Move: 30' Action: Dash 30' (Is the map 5' squares or 10' squares?)
Nelyna begins to come to in Sleet's arms. She stares up in confusion at the dragonborn. He seems to be running away from something. The last thing she remembers is entering the ritual chamber with the altar.
Razi looks to Jim with a mixture of pride and admiration. Before he himself had a chance to respond, the young rogue defied the darkness of this place and refused to play along with a sacrifice. It would have been easy to offer the pup's life to secure our own safe passage... but that is how evil triumphs. It can never prevail when thinking beings have a fair choice... but put good people in seemingly hopeless situations, and then offer them a devil's compromise - and darkness can seem to be the only option. He smiled, filled with new confidence as he turns toward the hulking, evil presence rising from the garbage. He searches for the appropriate spell to attack... and then he notices his allies are all fleeing for the exit.
Oh well. Spurning the darkness is accomplishment enough, he tells himself. Perhaps we will yet have a chance to confront this evil when we stand on firmer footing.
He turns and flees as well, looking for the stairs back up, and watching over his shoulder in the light of his hammer to check the creature's pursuit.

Seeing the big hulking monster start to move towards them, Jim also starts bolting towards the door running after everyone else.
"The pit?" Jim shouts back. "Forget about that we just need to get out of here. I studied the dollhouse. I'm just trying to recall if I saw a quick way through the mansion."

"We have the honor of being chased by a new horror of this place and you passed out for a minute, Jim and Caine are working up a plan besides running up into the attic. Can you run?"
Razi doesn't really remember the way out, so he will let the others proceed up the stairs and then follow behind as quickly as he can... keep a lootout behind and ready to blast the mound if it should find a faster speed and begin catching up.
