"I'm not familiar with this Ostani, sorry. I've been on the road a few months, Last Hope is actually the end of my route, closest I have to a home. Some of you mentioned Baron von Baraskin, it'll be a good season if he's in town, he owes me quite a few ducats from when I left in the spring.
I wonder, would you lot mind acting as formal guards for me? I had a foretelling done and it spooked me about this last leg of the journey? Say 5gp a head to act as guards on the way to somewhere you were going anyway?"

Guard? Bremita has never been anyone’s guard before, she was just a measly Innkeeper who does like to go out for adventures time to time. But sure, she’d give it a try, always good to earn money when she was away! “I’d be happy to help you out! Would you like some music to accompany us as we walk?” She looks at her companions with a hopeful look as she pulls out her pan flute.
Jerius twitches, and has reservations about being a guard. He has had to defend himself before, but has never been paid to do so. Ever striving to be helpful, he says "Of course! I shall do what I can to assist against any dangers that would befall us." He then curiously eyes the flute that Bermita has produced and thinks of happier times in Last Hope when lively music was played during celebrations.
"What, like just for entertainment?" Stonewall asks Bremita, a little caught off guard. "That depends," He then turns to the centaur. "You know these parts better than I. What sorts of threats're we lookin' out for? I'll gladly defend you, but I'd like to know what's in these parts afore we go drawin' attention to ourselves."
From what you've seen of Stonewall so far, the best word to describe him would be 'stiff.' While some people wield seriousness like a weapon, exuding a commanding presence, Stonewall's brand of seriousness and professionalism seems to be born of discomfort and awkwardness.

“Well yes for entertainment.” And hearing no actual objection, she starts playing. She stops briefly and adds, “Stonewall is right, it would be good to know what is in this area that we should be keeping an eye out for.”
And on that note, while playing she takes a good look around at her surroundings, perception: 5

He responds, "Just that woe would follow me if I made this trek alone. As far as threats... There are bandit raiders occasionally, the occasionally animal attack I suppose. Heard a crazy rumor that a demon was seen in the woods near Last Hope, but I doubt that's true."

"I wouldn't be so sure. Have you heard about why we've been summoned? There's word of some kind of blight taking the land. Details were sparse, but it hardly sounds like bandit raiders." Stonewall looks the centaur in his eyes and says in a grave tone, "I'd say it's a good thing we're here. I don't know about no fortunes, but what I do know is that bad things can happen to merchants who travel alone."
Lightening up a little, he says, "By the way, I don't know that I caught your name. Or your human assistant's." He turns his attention to the road ahead and keeps an eye out for danger.
Bremita stops playing her tune to talk with them, "Pleased to meet you both! And if your prophecy warns you from traveling alone, we should be good!" she states cheerfully. Bremita continues. "And as for the blight Stoney here is talking about, let's worry about that when we get there and in the meantime enjoy the beautiful walk we are all on." She continues to play on her panflute.

Quietly approaching Stonewall, Jerius looks up at the man staring out at the distance and says "You, uh, don't really think we'll see any...demons, do you?" Ears rotating to listen all around, Jerius also scans the horizon for signs of danger.
As Stonewall looks about, his face is hard. His brow is furrowed, his jaw is set, and well-worn lines of concern crease his weathered face. He looks down as Jerius speaks, and his features soften a bit. "I don't know about demons, per se," Stonewall says trying for a reassuring tone. "Rumors have a tendency to transform a creature's nature. I've encountered many 'demons' that turned out to just be sick, angry animals."
He continues walking for a few paces in silence. "But... tragedy's happen when you aren't prepared for the worst, so I won't rule demons out."
"I don't put too much in foretellings, as even the most devoted to the seers will admit the future is always in motion, but I figure a little extra caution won't hurt. This seems like as good of a time as any to head out, eh?"
Stonewall reaches over his shoulder to grab the hilt of his sword, and pulls it a few inches from its sheathe to make sure it is drawing smoothly. He slides it back in place and nods. "Best to make use of the daylight while we have it."
Another adventurer approaches Stonewall, and the man with the pig cloak begins to speak. "May I be of your assistance, too? I suppose I could use a bit of adventure in my life, and if there's money involved..."
He looks around to the others. "Oh, sorry! I haven't introduced myself yet. I am Wilbur, former magician of The Flying Pigs! How does everyone do?"

Aldrith is confused because he doesn't see what everyone is worried about. "Alright, let's get going then. I'll guard the rear."

"I uh... I'm sorry. I haven't heard of The Flying Pigs. What kind of group were you?" Stonewall asks apologetically, but genuinely curious.
