You come to a dusty balcony with carved oak-paneled walls, like the rest of the house. A fortune must have been spent on decorating the house so thoroughly. Here the walls are carved with woodland scenes of trees, falling leaves, and tiny critters. Morbidly enough, there are tiny corpses hanging from the trees and worms bursting up from the ground.
A suit of black plate armour stands against one wall, draped in cobwebs. As you walk past, the visor swivels to face you with a hideous screeching noise and it lunges forward, arms reaching for your throat.
Rose checks each of her scrolls carefully. "These are just for the house and the old windmill, saying who owns them." she says. She sneezes. "Blegh. They're really dusty."

Xai'Bo sneaks up the stairs and seeing everything in such a dishevelled and undisturbed manner decides to carry on along the balcony. He hears the armour moving before he sees it and when he turns around it is already reaching for his throat....
Ruel stares in wonder at the scroll as it becomes legible, his limited knowledge tells him that not even his brothers in the monastery could cast such a spell. He smiles surely this means that Torm is smiling on him, and I such a dark place as this it is the little Ray of hope he needs.
His thoughts are disturbed by the clattering from up the stairs, he had spent too long in reverie and his wits were dull and slow to react to the upcoming danger.
Melantha's initial attention to Rose reviewing the mundane scrolls was interrupted by what sounded like a screeching noise and heavy footsteps. They immediately head towards the stairs!

Sirron continued his way towards the stairs but stopped when he heard the screeching noise and the heavy footsteps coming from the floor above. "That..." He trailed off slightly and shook his head before he began to head up the stairs.

The screeching staggers Mavis. It is the first unnatural sound from the house that he personally hears. He hurries his step upstairs, hoping that the one that has been scouting ahead is still alright.
(OOC: Is it already in Melee with Xai'Bo? I am assuming so)
Xai'Bo lithely avoids the hands reaching for his throat, and retreats to the stairs, moving down them far quicker than he ascended them. He gets as close to the group as possible, saying, "I don't think they want us up there, there is a working suit of armour headed this way!".
He then turns around with his staff and shield in hand, and as he waits speaks some words of power and his staff gleams and grows twisting branches around it.

Sirron sighed in relief as he saw Xai'Bo heading down the stairs. He was going to ask him if everything was alright but when he heard him talking about a working suit of armour he moved back as well so he could be closer to the others. "So the sounds were coming from a suit of armour that was moving?"
He pulls out his dagger from his coat and takes a breath.

'With the number of armours decorating this house, and their rather impeccable state, it is not an impossibility that one of them still holds its enchantment,' Mavis comments.
Mavis takes in a deep breath. He puts down the lantern he has been holding, away from foot traffic, but still illuminating the passage in front of him. He pulls his longsword out at the ready and primes his shield.
Reaction: Fighting Style: Protection in case anything attacks the group (imposes disadvantage to one attack roll toward a creature within 5 feet of Mavis)
{{Will take the rest of the turn after DM's turn.}}
Oron, when given the chance, will close the distance between him and the suit of armor. Taking his Greatsword, he lifts it, and attempts to bring it down hard on the armor.

Xai'Bo, more confident now with allies around him, darts forward once again. Keeping his shield between himself and the suit of armour, he feints as he moves in and travels around it. Spinning his magically enhanced staff one handed he aims a blow at the back of the armour's helmet.

Melantha, seeing Mavis in front of them take their stance, peeks out from behind him to see the animated armor. Not taking their eyes off it, the green one takes a few steps from behind Mavis, pointing their hand towards the runed opponent. A beam of crackling energy soon escapes from their palm and streaks toward the suit of armor.
Ruel seeing the Armour advance and a number of his comrades close the distance and attack with steel and sorcery. He feels that the best form of defence would be to attack.
Closing the distance Ruel, shield already readied draws his Longsword and with practiced skill makes a vicious sweep.

Inching closer toward the shambling armour, Mavis brings his sword to bear and strikes. The corridor and the armour position on the stairs make it an unfavourable terrain for a fight, but he feels that the armour is sturdy enough that a fight on even ground would be just as hard.
