Randy shows Hank how to adjust the breast plate and then goes to his room as well. "Bacon and an egg along with tea for breakfast, please." He'll also take advantage of a hot bath.
((Sorry, end of quarter crunch got to me, and I neglected to give you all a heads up. On spring break now, but at a conference. Will have forum time in the evenings, goal would be to get things moving back and a more regular pace here.))
The inquisitive gnomelings lead you to your respective rooms, the large folk rooms near to one another, where the gnome rooms are deeper in, and if the various groups were able to compare, it would be clear that the gnome room is an older suite, perhaps part of the original dwelling here. You're able to drop off gear to be secured in your rooms, and unload it to take an inventory, and unload some of it on less armed and armored traveling companions starting a new path. Those of you that express an interest in baths are led to a side building where it becomes apparent that while Evelyn herself is of forest gnome stock, the bath system is likely designed by a rock gnome, at least to Ulmwin's eye. While not extensive, there is a small furnace that heads water that is carried out to the trio of wooden tubs, flowing in through pipes set into the bottom, where it can be joined with cooler water being plumbed in to provide customizable soaking. All three tubs are unoccupied at the moment, and the young helpers run off to get an older cousin(?), who seems to be a bit more trusted not to inadvertently scald guests.
"How hot's your preference?", she asks.

Ulmwin seems more enamored with the mechanism than the actual bath for a while. It's been a long time since he's been home and really got to see such handiwork, even if he rarely did it himself. He's glancing over it like a part just wants to see the particular quirks of his fellow rock gnomes work, another part seems like he's holding himself back from mentioning that maybe this or that part needs some maintenace. The bard side of him that wants to be polite eventually wins out over his rock gnome side to potentially end up in a debate should the original builder still be around.
"Quite hot for me, please. I've been warming my baths with a whiff of magic, but it's a while since I've had proper heat!"
The bath attendant adjusts some valves, and there is a whooshing of water as it gurgles through pipes and circulates into the baths, two of them throwing up a fair bit of steam as they heat up, the third pleasantly warm but not scalding. "Dip a hand in and make sure it's to your liking, and I'll leave you to it. If it cools off on you, if you turn this one, it'll give a you a bit more hot, but won't be enough to overdo it. Towels are on the rack over there, enjoy!"
The three of you are able to claim the first soak in the tub, soaking out the last traces of desert dust and sand that might be clinging to your scalp, the warm to hot water relaxing tired muscles. You have some time to discuss party business (minus Coljin) if you wished, or just let the quiet wrap you in the water's warm embrace and enjoy the soak.

After a few re-heats you're all well wrinkled from soaking, and feel clean and refreshed. You likely have some additional time before dinner service if you wished to convene with the others, inventory gear further, rest in your rooms, explore the city, or anything else.

Ulmwin had spent his time in the bath gradually upping the heat until he looks slightly reddish when he comes out, regaling whatever poor sap on the staff that helps him with the story of the frog in the boiling pot. He's probably fine though.
"So, what is the plan for now? Short and longterm I suppose. I was thinking of browsing the market today other tomorrow; got some supplies I want to buy, and see if there is anything interesting..."
Randy looks thoughtful. "I suppose I should make my way over to the university and do some research. There are several things I'd like to look into." He looks over at Hank. "Do you want to come? I suspect you'd probably be bored to tears since I'd be mainly in the university library, nose deep in the books. If you have other things you'd like to do, feel free to take the time."
"So many folks to check in with! Need to check on the temple too. Aye can take ye by the market tomorrow Ulmwin, just as well sell all this and aye need to say hello to a dozen or so merchants down there."
"I will go to the temple area with you, I'm interested in seeing what faiths are represented strongly here, and see if there even is one here for the Lady of the Forest."
Coljin then turns to Ulmwin, "Yeah, if you hold off until tomorrow, I'd also like to check out the merchant areas. And see if they have a few magic shops. I need to spend some of the gold we have earned. I wonder if we have enough that we found to possibly by a wand or a stave?"
((As long as the rooms are clean and comfy, and the food is better than decent, yeah, prices are good.))

((He wasn't going to say anything either way, but for future recommendations it was good to know.))
Ulmwin briefly remarks over his shoulder at hearing Dornikal.
"It's true. I'm not sure how they carry those things sometime!"
He seems all too glad to go enjoy a nice bath. It's been a while...

"Quite hot for me, please. I've been warming my baths with a whiff of magic, but it's a while since I've had proper heat!"
Dornikal notes the tub arrangement and decides it is too fancy. Alternating buckets of hot and cold water work just fine.
"Hot."
Is his response to the temperature question.
When Randy's turn comes up: "Warm. I want to relax a while."
The bath attendant adjusts some valves, and there is a whooshing of water as it gurgles through pipes and circulates into the baths, two of them throwing up a fair bit of steam as they heat up, the third pleasantly warm but not scalding. Dornikal is happy to just sit in silence, enjoying the luxury.
Randy is about half asleep in the tub. If anyone talks to him, he'll answer back in a sleepy voice.

Dornikal would spend the time cleaning gear, in preparation for selling it.

Ulmwin nods amicably.
"Sounds like a plan. I've nothing that is in any particular rush."
"I can always ask Whoopsie about wands and staves when I go collect my goggles from him. He should have an idea who sells them."
“Thanks. Yeah see what they have to say.”
