Coljin goes to take a much closer look at the needles.

Knitting tools?   Sewing tools?   Some type of odd dart weapon?

He just tries to figure out why someone would spend the energy and gold to enchant them.

(No idea what roll you'd exactly want for that)

Are they all the same size?   or different in some way?  (They were listed as 7, and 4 others)

((Planar warrior says 'all damage', but I'd be willing to entertain it acting somewhat like an acid splash, where the target takes the piercing and force as acid, and that creature and any within 5 ft make a save or take acid damage.))

They are all a bit different, though the 7 in the case are smaller and more similar to one another, and to 1 of the 4. Those 8 total needles are about the length of a human index finger, and taper sharply from the circumference of a pinky down to point. The remaining 3 are more than twice the length and more ornately etched than the smaller ones.

Randy takes a quick look around to see if there are further passages that need to be explored.

On seeing Randy start to check things out Dornikal will, gently, put away the necklace and help in checking there isn't something else nasty lurking in the shadows.

None that are easily explorable, a few seams and cracks that extend away from this chamber, a few filled with blue growth that seems to still be holding it's shape...

Dornikal will stab any healthy looking mold.

Dornikal does a bit of cleanup, but none of the patches are large enough for him to get hit with overspray.

Dornikal is pleased.

"Ha! No more of this thing whatever it was!"

Some new gear of questionable utility in hand, you can all head back towards the swamp unless you wished to spend more time resting in the cave before venturing forth again. It's probably middle of the afternoon or so now.

Dornikal expresses a strong desire to get back to the tower,

"Before something else tries to eat meh today."

Randy is agreeable with going back to the tower. He wants to rest and get his spells back at this point. 

You head out of the cave and out of the swamp into the clearing, the monster hunters looking at the acid etched Dornikal and Randy questioningly.

"We're not going to be heading out until the morning, maybe not until closer to noon, but you're welcome to share our fire and the road with us tomorrow if you wish, but otherwise wish you safe travels."

Randy hesitates a minute, thinking. He sighs and signals to Whoopsie. "I need to discuss a modification to my order, if you don't mind?"  Trying to be as circumspect as possible, Randy requests the addition of a 3rd lens and some dark tinting to the lenses if possible. "I understand that will affect the cost and I'm willing to pay the extra for it."

Whoospie looks at Randy in confusion and the ranger in putting a hand to his forehead, realizes that the eye has been reabsorbed sometime recently.

"Oh. Never mind. Looks like the problem took care of itself. Just what we agreed on earlier then."

That being the case, he lowers his hood and joins the rest of the world again, looking distinctly relieved.

Messy pat's Randy on the shoulder reassuringly from its perch on on top of the ranger's pack.

As you make your way back to the tower, Coljin and Dornikal see a flit of movement up in the trees.

"Dumathoin be blessed."

Dornikal mutters.

"We got company in the trees."

He readies he shield expecting a flock of harpies or a dragon to come at him given his day so far.

No such attacks are forthcoming, eventually Dornikal's neck gets stiff from looking up into the trees.
