Anvil’s head swivels from side to side again at the questions.
”It was unusual. Normally when humanoids communicate, the answer follows the question but in this case the answer appears to have preceded the question. We are meeting tomorrow at dawn where the southern road exits the city as our employer has said.”
"We are meeting at the south road outta town at dawn" she finishes off he tankard. "I'll leave ye to your night. Be ready bright and early." She gets ups goes to the bar. You see her talk to the keep and point to you all and drop some coin on the counter then she heads out the door.
A few minutes later the server comes around "Ms Battlehammer paid for you drinks and nights lodging for you all." She drops 5 room keys on the table.
It is currently about 7-8 in the evening. You are welcome to do whatever else you would like.
Anvil watches the dwarf depart and then turns back to the group at the table.
He begins speaking, as if he was reciting from a list.
"Gaetana the bounty hunter, Gruno the very light footed, Sulfas the proud, and Golwing the healer, also called Saethu but what name is preferred is still uncertain." Anvil then pauses and lets the list sink in.
He looks to the door and around the room to see if anyone is listening.
"With the variety of skills present, our scholarly employers must expect for more danger than Flax anticipates."
Gruno nods at Anvil with a sobering look, "Agreed, I joke and laugh, but business is business as they say. A formidable grouping like this can only mean they expect trouble ahead I would think." He gets silent as he ponders this further.
"Well! Let's enjoy this night before we get started!" Gaetana puts her boots up on the table, leans back and calls to Leonard, "Hey pal! another round!"
More ales are brought to the table, curtesy of Flax Battlehammer and a good evening is had. Unless anyone wants to do anything else we will say you've all retired to sleep and awoke ready to go. Breakfast is had and you are headed to meet the caravan.
"I don't know about you fellas," Gaetana says while they head to their rendezvous point, "but I had a good time last night, hadn't laughed that much in a very long time. I thank you." Her demeanor quickly changes, "Now.. for the real fun." and a sly smile creeps onto her face.
During the evening, Anvil continued to push any drinks brought for him into the center of the table for the others to claim. In his room he sat on the bed, facing the door, processing the events of the day and committing his new working partners to memory.
Come morning, he passes on breakfast but takes the time to meditate quietly on a few metal coins laid out in front of him, searching for the connection to the voice.
When he meets up with the others, he remains quiet until the group heads out of the inn to go to the south road.
Sulfas will drink what is put in front of him as it comes, "Never a expect a job to easy. Expect hard and be surprised if it's easy as an old clansman told me once," Sulfas will crash into his bed should there be no more talk and drag himself out for the job.

To that I'll drink. Not only are your scales golden, but so is your wisdom. Always expect the worst. that way it can only be better
The next Morning before heading to breakfast Golwing checks his equipment. He tightens the straps of his armor, empties his chest-pockets and neatly reorganizes everthing where it belongs: scalpels, string, needles, bandages and salves. At last he puts a translucent bead into a watertight compartment.
Gruno had drank a few more before heading to bed himself. Sleeping lightly and waking early, he packs his things the next morning and heads down to meet his new traveling companions. Before opening the door to leave though, he turns and nods to nothing in particular. "You always had the silver tongue brother, help me with that today if you will..."
With another nod and a smile, he turns and opens the door and heads down to the common room, ready to be on the way.
Its not a long walk to the southern road out of town, you all pass by townsfolk going about their morning routine. Some stop to gawk at such a motley, but impressive group.
A caravan begins to come into view. You can see easily 4 carts and wagons and about 15 people milling about putting various items into the carts or tying things down.
As you get closer you see Flax talking with an older grey haired individual.
"Hey Flax! Are these the clients!?" Sulfas hollers as soon as he can see what's going on.

Anvil stops and stares back at one of the townspeople who gawks at them as they go by. He turns his head from side to side, taking in the townsperson. Finally he shakes his head.
"Being dazed by the unusual indicates you will likely be little help in a crisis and will probably die," Anvil says then continues on to the caravan.
He looks at Sulfas after he yells across the distance, pauses for a moment, then walks over to where Flax and the strangers are.
Without speaking he looks at what is being put in the carts.
Gaetana looks at Anvil with interest as he spoke to the townspeople. When they reach the caravan, she says, "Be sure to let me know when you think I am little help in a crisis and will probably die. I think it would be good to know beforehand, warforged."
She then turns to Flax to greet her, "Well met, my lady. I hope we are not interrupting you" she nods at the older grey haired individual,"but we are here to report for duty."
"Ah here they are! Well met to you. May I introduce Maxwell Ashbridge, a master reader of Candlekeep." She steps aside.
You can now see an avg height human man of about 70 years or so. He has silver hair that is slightly receding on top and pulled back into a braid. He is wearing well made traveling clothes. "Yes , yes. You all look quite capable. Tell me have any of you traveled into the underdark before?"
(I'd like everyone to roll a d20 for me. 15 and above you have had an adventure or two into the underdark. 10-15 you've heard tales of things that live down there. Under 10 you dont really know anything about it.)
