Darwin is rocked by the force of the creatures attack, sees Hamish fall and rushes forward to stand over him. "Oh no, I didn't mean for that to happen, I thought a bit of noise would be ok", he says keeping an eye out for any more creatures. If he sees a cat creature, other than the one in the cage, he throws his dagger at it. If nothing is visible right now, he will be ready to throw the dagger if one appears.
Thrown Dagger (either immediately or as readied action): 10 Damage: 6 (piercing)
The cat up with Toryn attempts to bite him again and yet miraculously fails so spectacularly that it manages to lose its balance and fall off of the balcony (Nat 1 attack rolls have consequences 😂).
Already badly wounded, the twenty foot fall deals 7 bludgeoning damage (2d6) and proves fatal.
You now have a downed Hamish, a cat in a cage and a lot of dead cats.
How does the party proceed. You are now out of initiative order.
Darwin kneels beside Hamish and looks at Ida, "We need to get him out of here, if you carry him, I will keep an eye out for more of these things", he says motioning at the cat in the cage.
"Hamish is hurt, come back Toryn", he calls up to the dwarf.
Ida calmly reassures everyone, "Hamish will be okay, but I need the cat to be moved outside. Darwin- can you please carry the trap outside and see if you can find something to wrap over it so the cat will calm down before taking it to the Duke."
Once Darwin leaves with the trap, Ida lays her hand on Hamish's chest and focuses on him being better, on him up and moving around like normal, on him laughing with them over their next meal. She taps into her own energy and feels it enter him.
Darwin nods, "I hope you are right Ida". He then drags the cage to the door, making sure not to place his fingers where the cat could reach them. He takes a quick look back at the others before opening the door and dragging the cage out.
Once outside he pushes the cage against the warehouse wall so it can't open and looks around for something to cover the cage with, or to see if Aldheim is within earshot.
Toryn brings the tarp to Darwin and they return to Ida and Hamish. Found this. Toryn lays it over the and uses his sword to cut it down to size. He then rolls the remainder up and stuffs it in his pack.
Hamish gasps as he sits up, eyes wide underneath the unruly bangs that hang over his face. He looks around for a moment before calming. "Sorry. I didn't realize how much that would hurt. But I think maybe I angered it. I didn't mean to, but I think I hurt one of them when I whispered. I'd only done that once before," he rasps. He rubs his calf where the bite was, but his eyes stare into the middle distance, zoning out as he considers something unspoken.
The Cat predictably evades.
Ida's up.
Due to the cat being distracted by Darwin, I'm going to give her Advantage
Ida turns to face the cat Darwin injured with his dagger. She raises the battle-axe from her hip and swings down upon the very angry kitty.
[Rolled in App ]To Hit: 23 Damage: 8
That is a killing blow.
Is there more to you would like to do with your turn?
Ida sees Toryn still going strong, so she kneels down next to Hamish to assess his wounds
Hamish, I need a death-saving throw from you.
Then it is Darwin's turn again, after he makes his CONSAVE
Darwin

Toryn looks down at the chaos from the balcony and sees others attending to Hamish. He walks along the balcony to ensure there are no more hiding.

With your dark vision and a 17, you are fairly confident there are no more kitties.
Ida calmly reassures everyone, "Hamish will be okay, but I need the cat to be moved outside. Darwin- can you please carry the trap outside and see if you can find something to wrap over it so the cat will calm down before taking it to the Duke."

Aldheim has not returned.
You can't really see anything that would do the job.
Toryn comes down from the balcony and goes to help Darwin look for something to cover the cage.
Perception: 22
You spot a large tarp, excessively large for the job, about 5 feet squared.
"Let's get you outside Hamish, and get some fresh air. We achieved the goal- we trapped the one and the rest are dead."
Ida is anxious to tell Aldheim they had cleared the building, and more anxious to get back to the Duke to drop off that demented cat.
