Kira's initiative: 19

Init order: Caelyn; Pernach; Pepper; Kira; Blue slug; Ashe; Red slug; Cyril

The tables have a jumbled mess of alchemical and arcane equipment scattered across them. It was obviously tossed like someone made a quick, or desperate, search for something. As you stack up at the bottom of the steps, you can hear the large slug-like monstrosities moving about in the slime that covers that floor. (Caelyn, Pernach, Pepper and Kira are up!)

“Flip the tables and use them for partial cover?” Pepper suggests to Pernach.

As Pepper and Pernach discuss using the table Caelyn draws her bow and looks to Kira. she whispers to her Ill try and give you a good target to blast! Be ready.

She holds a second waiting for Pepper and Pernach to move forward as well and checks to see if Kira is ready. Caelyn then moves down the stairs to get a line of sight, moving herself into the corner right of the stairs.

Her fingers feel the arrows feather a last time as she pulls back her bow and releases the arrow towards the red slug. Trying to either hit it or get its attention with her arrow for long enough to give Kira a better shot at it. 

Movement: guesing 25ft to the corner just down the stairs and a space up. 
Action: Shortbow Attack: 19 Damage: 7
Bonus action: Provide Help to Kira so she can attack the slug with advantage

"Got it." Kira runs down the stairs after Caelyn. Once the arrow is fired, Kira raises her cannon, a beam of energy flying from it and at the slug.

Force Ballista attack: 21 Damage: 15 force

OOC > Let's make the DM work! Adjudicate, DM! :) Pepper is going to try to hem the red slug into the corner with the table. My thoughts: it's a slug, not an ooze, so it has some bodily integrity, so it can't just ooze around a barrier. In game terms, I'm hoping this gives us some cover?

Pepper assumes Pernach is on board, and moves into the room, sheathing both swords in an impressive display of coordination, then lifting and shoving the table directly in front of her, turning it to pen the red slug into the corner as best she can, hopefully giving Pernach some cover from which to strike it.

Free object interaction: sheathe both longswords as per Dual Wielder Feat
Move: to the table in front of her and onward pushing the flipped table into the corner.
Action: Athletics to flip table and shove it into corner with slug behind it. Athletics: 23

Question: I assume we are all at full hp? My sheet has me down, but I don't remember when that would have been...

• Yes, you are all fully rested and restored after the trip.
• Caelyn, you can only provide Aid as an action (unless you have a special ability) and can only provide aid in combat if you are within melee range (5') of the enemy. If you are within 5' of the slug, then your ranged attack is with disadvantage.
• The entire floor counts as if it has the grease spell on it! Caelyn, Pernach, Pepper and Kira - Make a DC15 Dex save as soon as you reach the main level or fall down. If you fall down, make a DC17 Con save...

…”Whoa!” Pepper calls out as she windmills slightly. “Slippery! Stay on the stairs if you can!”

Con save 3 well that took a turn for the worst

Seeing Caelyn take a pratfall as she steps on the floor, Pernach attempts to remain standing.

Dex save: 15 

With their feet firmly under them, and seeing Pepper blockade one of the slugs with a table, they focus on the other slug. 

8 (wild magic rage)

A strange coruscation flickers over some of the runes and sigils engraved on Pernach, and a bolt of blinding light shoots from their chest at the slug. 

DC 14 con save or it takes 1d6 radiant and is blinded until the start of my next turn.

Closing the distance, they swing at the slug with an overhand blow.

Attack: 25 Damage: 13

Kira dex save: 19

• Caelyn moves into the room and finds that the slime here is significantly more slippery than what was on the steps! She falls face-first into the goo, getting it all over her hands and face...(Caelyn is prone, so no attack, but I will let her bonus action of giving Aid to Kira stand!)
• Pernach manages to retain his footing, and a bolt of blinding light shoots from their chest at the blue slug (DC14 Con: 14; immune to binding) then gets just close enough to strike it with its greatsword! Unfortunately, the slashing weapon is less effective than Pernach expected! 
• Pepper also sees Caelyn go donw and manages to keep her footing in the slimy good. The slime helps her move the table towards the red monster, then flip it up on its side, trying to pen it into a corner!
• Kira gets to the last step of the stairs and sees Caelyn flop on her face in the slime, and then Pepper wall off the red slug in a corner, blocking her line of sight. She rethinks her plan...???
• The Blue slug sends an appendage towards the warforged, trying to grab it! Attack: 25 Damage: 11 (On a hit, Pernach is grappled.)

As the creature's appendage wraps around Pernach, another blast of radiant light strikes the creature. (DC 14 con or 1d6 radiant).

Annoyed at the less than usual effectiveness of their attack, Pernach persists.

"My blade isn't having much effect, what works best on these things?"

Medicine: 21

"Hit it more!" Pepper yells from where she is questioning her choices. "Lots more!"

Pepper will hear her name amidst a blue streak of Gnomish cursing, and she'll get the feeling Kira isn't happy with her.

The gnome switches to Common and calls, "I'd apologize for this, but I'm not actually that sorry." Then she puts down her miniature cannon and starts throwing vials of acid.

(Tasha's Caustic Brew in the direction of the slug, anyone in the line has to pass a DC 15 Dex save or take 5 acid damage at the start of every turn for a minute or until they use an action to clean the acid off themselves)

(At which slug? The one Pepper is trying to wall off, or the one Pernach is attacking?)

Pepper's Dex Save: 11

..."Son of a..!" Pepper yells as acid sizzles on the floor and the table all around her, miraculously missing her.

Ashe spots the slugs and quickly comes to the conclusion they must be eliminated. His mark sizzles and pops beneath his armor as he raises his hand toward the red slug and a familiar undulating orb of chaotic elemental energy forms at the tips of his gnarled fingers. "Pernach, Pepper, get clear!"

Chaos Bolt Attack: 10 Damage: 12 let's say it's psychic damage

• Kira gets to the last step of the stairs and sees Caelyn flop on her face in the slime, and then Pepper wall off the red slug in a corner, blocking her line of sight. She holds her action until the slug tries to come over the table, then shoots an acid spray at the creature. (DC15 Dex: 18) 
• Ashe also holds his action until the red slug comes over the table, unleashing an undulating orb of chaotic elemental energy that splashes across the creature's side. 
• The red slug barely slows despite the magical attacks, striking out at Pepper! Attack: 24 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. On a hit, Pepper is grappled.
