Unfamiliar terrain, unfamiliar plant-life, and an out-of-place patch of loose sand conspire against the best laid plans
how bad? 9...
It is not a full-on fall, just a couple setbacks that cascade. You keep trying to make progress but you end up lower every time, until you are barely keeping control. As you slide lower the air gets warmer and the bugs start biting - just the annoying kind of bites but it is adding insult to injury. And not without injury - by the time you get off the steep part of the slope, you have each taken 3 damage in the form of cuts scrapes and strains. Not to mention embarrassment.
(Vrawl wasn't climbing, his idea was to find a plant and use wild grow on it to make it easy for him and anyone else to climb up or down. Sorry I didn't explain my plan very well. Did he still slip and hurt himself?)
Calmly brushing the dirt from his fur Vrawl looks around. In the warmer area he has found a few plants growing in the dirt. "Earth father make this plant grow," Vrawl casts wild growth on the plant hopeing it will make a good support so he can climb this accursed hill.
((Sorry - you are at the bottom of the ridge, the low road, you can just walk NE from here. You tried to get to the high road but could not make it. Climbing now would be out of your way, more difficult and twice as much effort as the climb you did not succeed at.))

"Well, that path seemed a waste of effort." Jade grumbles as she brushes dirt and stone pebbles from her black hair. She glances to the path they had managed to slide down, and the far-off higher road they had attempted. She shrugs and gives the others a sassy smile. "Not going to climb up there again, so let's just make do and head onward." She turns and starts out, scouting the path ahead of the group again...
Up on the hillside it was green with shrubs and grasses and plants past the flower stage, but down here it is a riot of life. The birch and pine trees are smallish and well spaced, but between them grasses, bushes, wildflowers, mosses and berries are lush beyond anything you saw in Spain. You can stay on dry land on the lower part of the hill so far, with peat bog off to your right.
Your mode of arrival probably scared off some creatures, but you can see deer and elk not too far, squirrels and mice and such are everywhere, and every shape of bird are flying to and from nests, all trying to get food into themselves and their young in the short northern summer. There are no signs of people, the only pathways are worn by the deer and elk or whatever. The going is moderately rough but the days are long - you can probably cover 5 miles with reasonable care. Trying to be extra stealthy would cut that in half, and you supposedly have 10 miles to get to Baba Yaga's domain (Zminza Seven-eye did not say the name but everyone knows what a hag means saying "Great Mother in Siberia")

Vrawl stops, inhaling deeply the scents. "We are in the earth father's paradise it seems." His growling tone as calm as a growling tone can be. "I don't think we need to worry to much about going quietly until we get closer to the great mothers home."
Shrutsena chuckles briefly, "I doubt creeping along will help us avoid attention. We just need to make sure we don't do anything to draw it to us. That said, I don't think we should creep, but still shouldn't rush. Let's start going though, I'd really like to get this over with."
Gurag stands after sliding down the rock slope and dusts himself off in frustration. He looks up the hill where they were moments before, glaring at the hill for its offense. "Allow me to heal, if I may," he says.
((the healing spell does magic effort (d10+2) and V's stormcaller ability heals all allies for 1 extra point every WIS spell you cast. Not sure how I want to feel about out-of-combat casting - outside the turn sequence magic should not really be infinite, but let's ignore that for now and say...))
Over the course of a couple hours and a couple miles progress, you are all at full capability, though you'll be glad of some actual recovery when this is all done. A couple of things happen: (1) because of where the mountains behind you are, later in the afternoon this whole area is shaded. The change in sunlight is pretty obvious, and though the temp stays warm, it feels chilly. It gets damp, heading towards foggy, and it will rain later. Probably rains every day or overnight from the microclimate. The colorful cheerful birds get muted and the ominous drab ones take over. Instead of happy bunnies and squirrels frolicking in the sun it is rustling in the undergrowth.
(2) the foothills to the left get steeper, and the lowlands to the right are much lower and wetter. The walkable ground is narrower, with a shoreline rather than a slope, abutting mires with moss floating on standing water. Trees (and you) are limited to a shelf 10 to 30 feet wide between the bluff and the mires. You can probably get another couple miles in this shady daylight, but then sunset will come fast - not really any twilight what with the mountains.

Shrutsena glances around their surroundings and back at the mountains, "We should start looking for a safe place to make camp for the night, I'd rather not get lost in this mess or camp on ground that will sink before the night's through."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I'll find us a place to camp then." Jade says with a sassy smile over her shoulder. She moves ahead, her lythe body moving easily through the few trees on the land between the steep slope and the marshland.
Deciding to camp early, our heroes look for the first good spot rather than covering miles. Despite being hours from sunset, some nocturnal animals are taking advantage of the shade, so maybe this is a good idea. They even see a tiger flash past - up the steep cliff to the left, where you would not be able to walk - probably heading back where you came from, where the big herbivores graze.
You find a spot where the shelf between bluff and mire is not too narrow (20 feet), the bluff is steep enough to back up against, and there isn't a streambed right through the camp. Because as intermittent rain falls there is definitely flow from the foothills to the lowland that could be unpleasant. You have the oilskins Zminza gave you (except Gurag, who relies on his armor and orcish fortitude) but no tents. You have probably made it 4 of the supposed 10 miles to the supposed fenceline. A couple more hours to real sunset, but it is shady, foggy, drizzly, and visibility is about 30 feet.

"This work for you lot?" Jade says as the others catch up. She stands, leaning against one of the trees nearby, but not in the marsh itself. She gives them a nod to the camp area she had picked out for them.

"We can be like watwr and take the easy path it seems." Vrawl hikes up his pack, and heads off down the trail.

Jade - WIS: 4 Damage: 8
Vrawl - WIS: 13 Damage: 2
Shrutsena - WIS: 4 Damage: 5
Gurag - WIS: 13 Damage: 9
(Vrawl equals worst healer ever, totally spaced we have infinite spells.)
Vrawl will try and use his healing magic as well.
Jade healing 18
Shrutsena: 15
(Each should get 2 to back, one from the spell, and a extra one cause we are outside.)
Jade smiles at the healing. "I'll start out, scouting..." She then moves away. (Rolls I believe are in my earlier post.)
