The ape starts dragging Vrawl, and take heart for a second when Jade 20...juggles but keeps hold of her rapier. But being hit by lightning is obviously not what an aquatic creature likes, so he is dropping Vrawl and making tracks, when Gurag's long spear gets it right in the neck. Bog ape drops and bleeds out.
"Ok, I guess fighting at night is not my thing." Jade complains as she kneels down and simply stares at the corpse of the bog ape. She runs a hand through her ebony hair as she glances to the others. "Everyone in one piece? More or less anyway?"
In general, Vrawl knows well, you have to be very careful with (1) things that live in swamps and (2) primates. Bog-dwelling apes sound like an awesome vector for diseases. Plus they are not mindless, since Mind Trap worked on them, so it is a little too close to cannibalism for you civilized folks. But thinking about, he does conclude:
The one that escaped injured, plus the corpse by the shoreline, will probably discourage other attacks. Laying it out with the respect shown an enemy might enhance that.
A fire would not hurt either. More likely to deter local carnivores than attract attention.
Primates are usually omnivores, so stuff the bog apes like must be around. And indeed, there are some excellent leaves and berries close at hand. Your rations had dried meat, hardtack, nuts and such, so something fresh and warm would round things out nicely.

OK then, back to rest without fire or food. Though the air is warm enough, drizzle fog and bugs keep things unpleasant. Shrutsena and Vrawl have the remaining watches. Some arms reach to gingerly retrieve their fallen comrade from the shoreline, but otherwise nothing threatens. Nocturnal hunters and foragers do not really keep their distance, but you are not on anyone's menu apparently. And morning comes early - this far north, this time of year, sunrise is only 4 hours after midnight, and light starts an hour before that. The pre-dawn sunlight comes from northeast, and Vrawl is treated to Sky Mother's most glorious colors.
You recover all but one of your lost HP - you will need a real recovery period for that. But you will have a lot of daylight to reach your goal
BTW we did not cover it, because I missed Veth's statement at first, but: Chosen One is powerful but not pleasant. Jade cannot drop below one HP while Vrawl lives, but she feels all the pain of that damage. Better than dying, but only just. And Vrawl hurts, too - every time she would have dropped, he feels his soul restraining hers from the afterlife, like all the skin on his body being pulled radially. Lesser beings could not take it. Last night was only the second time it happened since you gained that power. Not sure what would happen if she was totally destroyed, and you do not care to find out. But it sure is a tactical advantage.

"Ok, wow, I feel like someone let a giant use me for a punching bag." Jade grumbles as she gets up. She stretches and massages the more tender places as she glares out towards the swamp.
((I apoligize, I thought in had posted after Vrawl' s insite.))
Rising with the sun Vrawl spends some time gathering berries, and edible plants "If we add these to some oats we will have a decent tasting breakfast." Vrawl goes about starting a fire. "Anyone got the cooking pot?" Looking over at Jade he asks "you gunna be alright?"
"I'll be just fine." Jade says with a grin, one that is not quite to her normal brilliantly sassy level, but close. "Just get some food in me and a bit of time to walk off this funk, and I'll be just fine."
A decent warm breakfast raises spirits, and you are still on the move before 5. The drizzle is light, it should burn off before noon, but the morning bugs are not your friends. At least the cheerful birds have replaced the creepy night sounds. And imagine the bugs if the birds were not eating them - ouch.
((if you need anything done before you move on, we can insert that here. Otherwise...))
You make good time in the morning. After a couple miles the bluffs to your left become merely very steep - there are Siberian Bighorn in their summer range grazing on land too steep for much else. Except whatever eats them - tigers and wolverines and bears and leopards have left tracks from their nighttime hunts. There is not much space between the very steep hillside and the shore, 10 to 20 feet mostly, and sloped towards the water more than before. And Vrawl and Shutsena can sense you are approaching a Major Arcane Power - not close enough yet for most spells to be affected, but in a mile or two things might get hairy. The birdsongs are still cheerful, but sometimes their colors move separately from their bodies.
So it does not seem comforting to have your path blocked by a circle of stone, 30 feet across and a foot high, on ground that seems deliberately levelled - slightly cut into the hillside even.

"I Should probably sneak up and have a look at that... What do you guys think?" Jade asks, glancing to the others as she puts her hands on her hips and regards the stone wall ahead.
Regarding from a distance at first - the level ground is about 2 feet beyond the low stone wall, cut into the high side and built up on the low side, so the shoreline actually sticks out about 10 feet in an unnaturally even arc past the rest of the shore. The water is more clear and open than it was, almost a lake rather than a mire. The wall is of roughly dressed stone, a foot high, and forms a pool filled within a couple inches of the top. You cannot see much into the stone pool from this angle - you stopped about 50 feet from the near edge.

Shrutsena gestures at the ape in the water, sending a blast of lightning into the water to try and fry it before it can flee.

Shrutsena nods, "I am fine. Anyone know if those things are safe to eat? It wouldn't hurt to supplement our stores."
"A little sore but good. That is for the save, I wasn't looking forward to a bath in that bog."
Vrawl attempts to apply his common sense about what he knows about nature to answer Shrtusena's question.
Wisdom roll: 9

"Let's get some more rest," Gurag says, preparing a fire. "We have a lot of marsh to cross tomorrow."
Shrutsena nods and heads back to his makeshift tent.

Shrutsena stretches and dismantles his makeshift tent, "This is why I utilize magics and stay back as much as possible. Shall we move on?"

Vrawl nods. "Food is good medicine." Once he gets a pot, Vrawl boils some water adding in dried oats, the berries he found.
