Rhyrie Swiftdark "You do have a little time....a couple days. But you don't want to be around vulnerable people if hunter catches up with you. They are unlikely to care about harming innocents to get you."
Valindra hadn't considered that she might get the poor farmboy killed. "That's an excellent point. Alright, then. Why don't we leave now. Lead the way to Pitth, if you would please."
Rhyrie Swiftdark heads out of town, heading south into the deep wild woods. After a couple minutes she finds a path and follows it. The woods are full of animals, and insects...but only slight signs of halfling use: foot prints, turn bits of cloth and and the like. She walks for most of the day, keeping a slow and steady pace. Then heads off the path into the wild. Another couple hours of walking through the woods, were the ground rises in places and gets rocky.
Rhyrie Swiftdark "This is it. The entrance is up there at the top of that rock. You should be ready, there is a good chance something might be in there..."
Valindra follows Rhyrie through the wilds and comes to the place where she's indicating the entrance to Pitth. Upon Rhyrie pointing to it rather than going in first to show it is safe, Valindra becomes a little suspicious.
The cave is very rough, crooked , and dark. Just five feet in, around a bend, it's too dark to see. Rhyrie Swiftdark snaps her fingers a couple times and five bright fireflies made out of light form and float around lighting up about a ten foot sphere.
A gigantic spider with black hair mixed with a little green, about the size of a small horse, backs from the light, about then feet away, back into the darkness.
Rhyrie Swiftdark"Well, first you need to get past the spider. It would be better to sneak past it or something. Leave it here to guard behind. Just in case. "
Rhyrie Swiftdark"Invisibility works. Hunting spiders don't have anything like scent. I have invisibility to animals, so I'll be fine. You don't need to worry about me. "
The giant spider has no perception or special senses, other then sight. So once it moves to the side, it is easy to walk right past it. The spider does not react when you pass it at all.
Rhyrie Swiftdark dims the five glowing fireflies, then carefully walks past the spider too.
Rhyrie Swiftdark brightens the five glowing fireflies, once she is past the spider
Only about twenty feet past the spider the cave forward takes a turn ninety degrees straight down. The tunnel downward is very rough, twisty and narrow. Looks to be less then five feet wide in lots of small spots. You can't see the bottom.
Rhyrie Swiftdark"This is where we climb down. It's a bit twisty, but it goes mostly straight down. As you can see it's a tight fit, so that makes it an easy climb. Somewhere in this down tunnel is an earth elemental in the ground. I'm fairly sure it is only ordered to stop people that climb up. As we are climbing down, we should be fine. But just in case it attacks us, be ready for that. Invisibility won't work on it, it can feel you on the ground. "
As the tunnel is narrow and twisty, it is an easy climb down. A couple hundred feet down, a face forms in the rock and follows you down for a couple of feet, then fades away. Another couple hundred feet and the tunnel ends inside a large stone hearth. A low opening leads out into the rest of the room.
The room is a large stone room more then 100 feet across. Anvils, stone tubs, metal buckets and all sorts of tools are all over this room. A lot of tools lay on the floor, covered in dust. No one is in the room that you can see.
Rhyrie Swiftdark climbs out of the hearth "Well, all right, your safe from the surface. They won't find you down here"
With a couple sounds of something scraping one stone, you hear something come down one of the darker edges of the room. Then stepping into the light is a gnome skeleton, wearing bits of rusted chain mail and scraps of clothing. It does carry a hammer in it's left hand and it slowly moves forward.
The tunnel you just climbed down is roughly three feet wide at most points. The hearth opening is ten feet long, with a two foot high opening leading to the center of the room. (you just climbed down the chimney of a large central fireplace)
The glowing fireflies only light up a rough 20 sphere as they fly around. Beyond that is deep darkness. From the high arc of the ceiling of the room that you can see, the room you are in is quite large....maybe something like 100 feet across and has a dome like shape.
Valindra casts the cantrip "Summon Bonfire" and stands so that the fire is between her and the skeleton. (Assuming that it will at least mostly fill the hall between her and the skeleton)

Rhyrie Swiftdark "ok, follow me"

Perception Roll to see if she has any guile: 6
Perception: You don't sense Rhyrie Swiftdark being deceitful or trying to trick you.
Rhyrie Swiftdark "If you want to rest a bit, I'll hide our trail and set a false one. Just to be safe."
"No need," says Valindra, entering through the cave mouth into the beginnings of the Underdark.
Valindra shivers at the sight of the spider. "So, how do I approach the gnomes?"
Rhyrie Swiftdark "Well, first you need to get past the spider. It would be better to sneak past it or something. Leave it here to guard behind. Just in case. "
"I have a spell that can make me invisible. Would that be enough? And how will you get past the spider? Do you need me to cast the spell on you too?"
Rhyrie Swiftdark "Invisibility works. Hunting spiders don't have anything like scent. I have invisibility to animals, so I'll be fine. You don't need to worry about me. "
Valindra casts invisibility over herself and attempts to sneak past the spider.
Stealth Roll: 6 (plus whatever bonus being invisible grants her)

Climbing is hardly Valindra's strong suit, but she attempts it anyway.

Rhyrie Swiftdark climbs out of the hearth "Well, all right, your safe from the surface. They won't find you down here"
Valindra notes the tools laying on the ground, as well as the face in the wall, she calls out, "Hello? Is someone there?"
Valindra's voice echos in the empty room.
With a couple sounds of something scraping one stone, you hear something come down one of the darker edges of the room. Then stepping into the light is a gnome skeleton, wearing bits of rusted chain mail and scraps of clothing. It does carry a hammer in it's left hand and it slowly moves forward.
(How many feet wide is the tunnel?)
The tunnel you just climbed down is roughly three feet wide at most points. The hearth opening is ten feet long, with a two foot high opening leading to the center of the room. (you just climbed down the chimney of a large central fireplace)
