Giving Mica a shrug as Ran and Meili step onto the bridge she says, "Let's make it quick then. Double time, but watch your step." Giving Nalomanterys' a pat on the back for Guidance for good measure. While her eyes are down to look at her feet, the elf was also staring rather warily at the lava for any surprise bubbles that might burst out at them or something like that.
"I thank you, Danica." Nalomanterys announces with a bow as his wounds completely stitch up. He follows the others onto the bridge.
((Do people want me to use my last lvl 2 spell slot to look like a fire newt again? I'm not against it, but I think the chances of it working are lower against the warlock newt))
Hewis already at the bridge, looking across at the tunnels beyond. He looks back, shaking his head. "Nothing else coming, yet." Then he joins Meilias the first two across the bridge. The bridge itself is sturdy and strong, a testament to dwarven engineering. Walking across it at an even pace, you have no difficulty crossing safely. To either side, you see that the magma chamber wraps around the complex in a "U" shape. There are ledges and walkways on either side. Some are accessed by bridges like this one, while others seem to only be accessible by heavy lengths of chain that span the gap over the lava.
The heat is indescribable. If any of you, as children, succumbed to the temptation to open the oven to peer at baking cookies, it is similar but more intense. The magma glows with thermal energy and any sweat still on your bodies is instantly wicked off by the dry heat. Those of you with keener senses [Danica, Meiliand Mica] notice it isn't just heat, but sound emitted by the lava. There is a noise, just past the limit of your hearing... a deep hum that you can feel in your teeth.
Once across, the worst of the heat abates. You find more tunnels and mine cart tracks, which lead toward the passageway where the 6 firenewts emerged from. So far, nothing else seems to be coming this way.

Mica crosses over the bridge close behind his companions, trying to avoid looking down as the heat from the lava below baked his skin. “The heat is what draws the firenewts. Remind me of this the next time I complain about the jungle’s heat.”
Across the far side of the bridge, he moves toward the intersection where the newts first appeared and looks down each of the tunnels, looking for any sign of the other newts or the forge itself. Perception: 6.

It was the first time in her life Meili regretted being born a human and not, say, a tiefling. The one she knew never suffered from heat. She tried to get to the other side as fast as possible, potential ambush be damn.
"I don't think you will hear any complaints from any of us anymore."She breather in the little less scorching air trying not to cough, and moved along the wall to the intersection, as carefully as possible.
Mica, please give me a CON save against DC 10 - to see if your Pass Without Trace is still up after the damage you took in combat.

The party slips down the minecart tunnel to the next large opening. You hear the clanging of hammers on metal, banging out a rhythm in the warm darkness.
The hammering sound grows louder, but it’s not coming from the chamber ahead. On the tracks in front of you sits a large minecart. You are able to shelter behind it as you peek into the room. This enormous, hexagonal chamber is a working smelter. Three rectangular pits in the center of the room are filled with molten iron, the orange glow less than that in the magma crevice but still enough for you to see. Nine devices of dwarven design and make, arranged at the south end of each pit, siphon off the liquid metal and draw out the impurities. A smaller pool in the southeast corner, just to your right, holds what appears to be molten silver.
Two firenewt warriors are tending to the machines. So far, they haven’t noticed you.
Just then two more firenewt warriors ride into the room from the west. They sit atop large red scaled monsters that simultaneously appear birdlike and reptilian. Across the back of each beast is also a bound and motionless humanoid form. They appear to be dwarves, bruised and emaciated. The riders shout something to the two by the smelters.
For any who understand Ignan:
Riders: "What's going on? We heard sounds of battle from the entrance. Why are you just standing here?"
Smelters: "Battle? A stranger arrived claiming he had brought more prisoners for the glory of Imex. XXithiss and the others went out to help him carry the bodies."
Riders: "A stranger? Well something is wrong. We heard the clangs and cries of combat. Go and warn Xhan while we have a closer look."
The riders then dump the dwarves onto the ground beside their mounts.
[You are all clustered behind the minecart at the south end of the large room, peeking into the chamber.]

Meili did not understand all the hissing and clucking, mixed with the cracking of fire but considering the beasts, the only way out for riders was back where they came from. According to the map, they could as well ride past the group. Meili said as much. "It is either this or we risk being discovered anyway. Besides, those dwarves can be still alive we can not leave them."
She did not attack immediately, though, waiting for everyone to get ready.
Danica quietly surveys the room before mouthing a silent curse as she lays eyes on the dwarven prisoners. As the fire newts speak, she glances at her crew to see if there's any flicker of recognition as to what was being discussed in any of their eyes. Nodding with pursed lips at Meili's words, she leans in close to the others and suggests in a barely audible whisper, "I can try and tangle up the mounts so's they won't be able to run away easy. Shouldn't hurt their captives either. Just be mindful of all that molten shite."
With that said, Danica is waiting for everyone to agree and confirm that they're ready before casting Entangle on the area just west of the riders, but right underneath the western most rider. But would certainly hold that action if anyone else proposes an alternative plan.

Mica kneels behind the minecart and strains to understand the newt’s conversation. They were speaking in a much faster dialect than he was used to, their words jumbling together but he understands the message. “Yes, we should go now”he answers Ran and Meili simply “Before they have a chance to warn the others, they know something is amiss.” Mica stands from behind the cart and moves toward the pillar to the west of the room for cover, calling out to the newts in primordial “Release the dwarves!” Initiative: 22.
Nalomanterys confirms what Meili and Mica heard: The riders were suspicious of the sounds of fighting they heard and were going to check it out. The wizard rolls up his sleeves and prepares to attack this group of newts and riders, and hopefully save these Dwarves. Initiative: 8
"Let's go then." Meili took off the mask for a moment to wipe the sweat from her brows, put the mask on and walked towards the bridge.
If nothing stopped her, she intends to cross it.
