Ran sighs as the angry frogs make their appearance and rain poison darts at him and the others. He must have felt over confident from bypassing the greenhouse not to have expected an attack once they got to the shrine. The little buggers darts hurt something fierce, but captain said to take out the red frog, so he will.
Assuming it's not asleep from what ever wizardry Nalomentarys cast, Ran pulls around his long bow and lets two arrows fly at the red grung.
Attack 1: Attack: 19 Damage: 7
Extra Attack 2: Attack: 8 Damage: 8
He does his best to aim at the red frog's legs to try and knock it down, maybe so it will slip and hit its head.
One Superiority Dice: 6 extra damage to a hit and then the red grung has DC16 STR save or be knocked prone (Trip Attack)

Mica weathers the storm of darts and arrows that rain down around him and the others, even as the ground around him erupts with vines and thorns. At the Captain’s shout, he follows up his original attack on the red creature with two more arrows in quick succession, hoping to disrupt it’s magic

Meili caught the poisonous (of course it was poisonous, it was grungs the group was dealing with) dart from the air, spun around, following its motion, and sent it back at the green frog. A moment later the volley of fire from the group swept away the remaining frogs to the left and Meili could switch her attention to the other flang. She moved towards the green frog behind.
If the difficult terrain is gone - sword/unarmed attack
Atop the roof, the two Green Grung tuck their legs under themselves and go to sleep. Both the Yellow and Red Grung stagger briefly but remain standing. This is for but a moment, however, as a volley of arrows from Ranand Micarip into the Red Grung, which spins and then tumbles off the roof to land with a squish on the stone floor below. As it falls, the thorns surrounding the party wither, brown, and then flake away to nothingness. Meili advances and slashes the nearest Green Grung with her sword, leaving it alive but badly wounded.
As the Yellow Grung on the rooftop draws another arrow, Eligos steps forward. "I think not," he says, drawing a diamond from his pocket and holding it aloft between two bent fingers. A prism of light refracts through the diamond and shines in a beam upon the Yellow Grung. Icicles begin to form on its wet skin and the Grung tips over and falls off the roof, joining the Red one in death.
Their ambush in complete shambles, the larger Orange Grung inflates his throat pouches, trumpeting a shrill alarm call. It, and all the other remaining Grung [save for the two asleep on the roof] leap away in all directions, as fast as they can. They all jump away 25' and then hop away another 25'. [Meilican make an AOO on the wounded Green Grung if she likes, and the party can continue to attack the fleeing Grung at range if they like. Otherwise, we are out of Initiative.]
With the battle over, Eligos offers, "My spell was still active, and I understood some of that croaking. The orange one shouted something about this temple being theirs 'by right of conquest,' and having unseated 'the servants of a rival god.' I hate this place."

Seeing the smaller creature flee left Danica satisfied and she didn't feel the need to chase it down or pull out her bow for it. Nodding at Meili's point though, she replied, "Best we don't linger then."Walking with the rest of the group towards the entrance before craning her neck up at the roof. "What about th' nappers? Leave em?"
The elf brushes her fingers against the brow of the skull seated in the center of her wheel shield before a bright Light began to emanate from it. She angles her arm so as to have it point to the entrance of the shrine and inside if at all possible. "I don't suppose one of these cubes will be conveniently on display out in the open for us? If there's no rush, I can try an take time ta Detect Magic n see if these cubes are magical."
Mica recovers his arrows from the fallen grung and looks over at the corpses of the hybrid jaguars and serpents. “And I wonder who those servants of a rival god were, or even which god we are talking about. Still I guess we should go see what we won.” Mica walks around to the entrance of the shrine, staying close to the Captain as she shines a light into the building. “Might not even be a cube in there, Cap’n. Kobolds said they were already taken. If you can trust ‘em.” He looks around the entrance for any signs of writing or markings to point out to Eligos before his spell runs out.
Ranfinds only a primitive shortbow and arrows with the corpse of the Yellow Grung. The Red Grung, meanwhile, has a short staff (little more than a baton from the point of view of a medium-sized creature) decorated with feathers and animal hair.
[This item could be used as a spellcasting focus for a druid or sorcerer.]
Tall monoliths flank the entrance of the shrine, decorated with images of a jaguar with six snakes sprouting from its shoulders. A stone door is set into the shrine beyond, standing open allowing dim light into the interior. The monoliths are covered in a repeating pattern of runes which Eligos touches and translates.
"...'Shagambi teaches us to fight evil with honor'...".
Moving carefully into the interior of the shrine, through the open door, the party walks down a short flight of steps. They descend into a fifteen-foot-high, moss-covered room. Four statues of Omuan warriors stand in alcoves to either side, overlooking a barred gladiatorial pit in the floor. Each statue looks like it was meant to hold a spear, but its weapon is missing. On the far side of the chamber, a stone pedestal stands conspicuously bare. A relief on the wall behind it shows a monstrous jaguar with six snakes protruding from its shoulders, fighting off a squat, frog-like humanoid armed with a spear. To the left of the relief is a narrow tunnel with stairs leading down.
The pedestal has a square-shaped stone hatch in the top of it. Nearby, the bloated corpse of a man wearing now-familiar Cormyr Company armor lies on the floor.
The mural of the jaguar and the frogman has more script beneath it. Eligos moves carefully around the corpse, eyeing the statues for any hint of movement, and then places a hand over the words.
"... 'At noon, a brave kamadan hopped down from her rock. She saw the evil in the Omuans’ hearts and decided to lance it like a troublesome boil. The kamadan fashioned a holy spear, but she left it by the riverbank and a crafty grung stole it. In her rage, Shagambi the kamadan forgot all about the Omuans and chased Nangnang the grung forever across the sky' ...".
After reading it aloud, he touches the mural just above the script. "There are holes here, in the wall. Someone has stuffed them full of rags."

Mica looks at the mural and grunts “It looks like the fight between the grung and the kamadan have been going on for ages.” He steps forward and carefully looks at the mercenary corpse, trying to determine what killed them and see if they had anything useful. He looks up at Ran and the pedestal and answers “Aye, looks like they got this one, and left this one behind while doing it. Unless the real prize is hidden downstairs.”
[To clarify, the square shaped hatch atop the pedestal is closed. It looks like it could possibly be opened but there is no handle or other obvious mechanism to open it.]
Listening at the stairs, all is still and silent in the lower levels. Based on the accoustics, Randeduces that the stairs down must connect somehow to the lower-level fighting pit visible through the gated hole in the floor. The scarlet bird flits off from his shoulder to perch on one of the crossbeams over the pit, cocking its head to peer down into the darkness.
Mica, looking at the dead body, you see deep scratches on its neck that seem to be self-inflicted, as if the decedent had been clawing at his own throat prior to death.

Wincing at Mica's warning as she spares a glance at the body as well, Danica guesses aloud to the others, "Poison? Maybe that's what the rags are for... Stopping up the trap holes spewing out poison or something." She shrugs, clearing just guessing. But to try and find out more, she kneels by the body and murmurs a soft prayer to Selune as she brushes her hand against the holy symbol at her hip, offering a prayer for the dead and asking for Guidance as she tries to determine how exactly he died. If it was from his self inflicted wounds or something else.
The room suddenly fills up with soft light as Nalomanterys conjures Dancing Lights and floats them through the grate to the lower level. Like gentle Will o' the Wisps, the 4 orbs bob around the fighting pit below, slowly erasing the darkness until the group can paint a picture of what's below them.

Take a careful look inside the dead man's mouth, Danicasee's telltale burns and lesions in his windpipe... a sure sign of the effects of chlorine gas.
