Korvo returns Zolo's salute, properly, then grins wide as 905 starts in on him. Shaking his head, Korvo looks at Zolo and says, "good luck." He then turns to look at the pilot's seat, half covered in firefoam. "To all of us..." He squeezes past Zolo just enough to grab his bag and pulls from it a towel, then returns and wipes off the chair. As he sits down, Korvo replies to Zolo's question. "I have no idea what state this ship is really in, this is my first time flying her. However, if the preflight systems are accurate, we shouldn't explode. At least, not right away."
(It doesn't have to be a bad ship - remember, Korvo is used to military-grade craft and equipment, and less trusting of civilian stuff. Especially if it is operating out of Hutt space!)
(I think we are just joking about the ship as people tend to do- not a reflection on the actual ship. :) . Fayva is used to luxurious government or private ships, by comparison this one would be pretty basic!)
(Hah. Well a big part of the humor of Star Wars is the millennium falcon is always breaking and falling apart- and it’s still one of the coolest ships in sci-fi..).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Korvo's demeanor shifts again. As he begins to talk to Fayva, he becomes serious, more focused. Any awkwardness or thoughtlessness immediately replaced by methodical training. All business. "Alright, the first and most important lesson I learned in combat flight training was dubbed "tactical communications" by my flight instructors. Who to tell what to, and when. In controlled space, a busy starport sky, or a warzone, it is absolutely imperative to coordinate with the control towers and other craft. However, in a place like this, or our destination, your ship is another person's play thing - potentially. And any honest information you give can be sold to dubious third-parties. You might recall that when you all boarded I announced we had already been cleared to takeoff. Clearance comes in stages. Firstly, flight scheduling is done well in advance of traveling, including your craft information, transceiver information, origin, cargo, crew manifest, destination, and estimated travel time. All of that is to be submitted to local and national authorities. We skipped that. Secondly, pre-flight checks need to be coordinated with the local tower. We did that and they granted us a kind of preliminary clearance. However, thirdly, you are supposed to coordinate with the tower as you taxi and leave. We are not doing that either. Not coordinating with the tower can be dangerous if they skies are crowded, which these aren't, and if planetary security forces are present, which they aren't." Korvo begins pointing out the helm control features, how the pre-flight check set a number of those systems to a "ready standby" status, and which buttons, switches, pedals, and dials need to be interacted with next. As he explains the controls he engages the flight systems and the ship's flight and navigation systems come to life. "Now we go."
Zolo stands and lets 905Jan clean is greasy hand saying, "Oops, sorry bout that Jan, but if you don't like grease you probably don't want to look over there." Zolo points out of the door to where he and Astro just came from. A long trail of greasy wheel marks and boot prints can be seen.
"Zolo scratches his head embarrassed, "Yyyyyeeeaaaahhh, sorrry. I'm afraid oil and grime come with the territory when it comes to machinery, but well do our best to keep it confined to the engine room. But cant make any promises!" Zolo will let 905 finish and then will head back to the engine room, " Come on Astro lets go monitor the engines while we take off and see what we are dealing with." Astro beeps in response and follows, both of them leaving a second trail of grime on their way back tot he engine room.
“Nice takeoff! Very smooth. I think I see how you did some of that. Hopefully this is a quiet journey.
Any thoughts on tactics once we get there? We’ve been given this electronics disabling device- our own droids are terrified of it. But supposedly this guy is a force user who likes a lot of battle droids around. ..” Fayva says, then she looks with concern at 905Jan to see the response to all the grease. “Uh Oh… little spill.”
Korvo is quiet for a moment. He focuses on the navigation redoubts then releases control to the ships astrogation system as they enter hyperspace. "This part is entirely auto-pilot. We don't do anything while in hyperspace, except listen for alarms." He refocuses his attention on Fayva.
"Well... Those things aren't toys just anyone has access to. I know explosives well, and that is milspec. I would be more interested in using that thing on the guy than the droids, for starters. Those force users tend to be mean customers, but he started as one of us, and bounty hunters do love their toys. Any blasters, vibroblades, lightsaber-type weapons, etc., would be disabled. At least, temporarily. As well as any other toys he might have, like comms or a droid control module. Only slug throwers would be unaffected. Then he would be left with whatever powers he had. Depending on our team skillset, we could surround him and open up with everything we have. Secondly, we would ideally have control of the battlefield in advance. If we can setup the environment to work for us. I could whip up several more explosives which we could use if we draw him to a choke point. Of course, some force users have a sense for those things..." Korvo grows silent, looking past Fayva, lost in memories for a moment. "Killing one of them is hard to do, and almost always comes at a cost."
905Jan beeps aggressive sounding curses in binary, furiously cleaning the tracks that were left by Zolo and astro. He follows behind them, trying his best to clean thier trail. “Note: grease and Mess leads to accidents.
Tactics: infiltrate base, pretend servant. Get close and exterminate.” 905jan replies while cleaning all of the grease. “tactic: hope the pipe is not of sewage.”
“Yes we do!” Fayva gets a big smile and pulls out her datapad. She projects the holographic layout. She shows the pipe they had considered using to sneak in, and other things they had noticed about the facility.

(I didn't actually mean it was like a piece of crap but now it is. this is fine)

(nope i want it be literal trash now. because it would be funny)
(lol - now I don't feel bad if / when we inevitably wreck it! NPC loaner ships never end well!)
(ya its meant to get you to planet. you'll get the ship i emailed all of you once there)
(Hah. Well a big part of the humor of Star Wars is the millennium falcon is always breaking and falling apart- and it’s still one of the coolest ships in sci-fi..).
(true)
(also if yall wanna take off now go for it)
With that, Korvo looks to Fayva. "Ready for your first lesson?" He then looks back to Zolo and 905, "whattya say folks, good to go?"
“Let’s do it!” Fayva says.

Pilot check = 23
(No need to do that in a take off with clear sky's)
