Venkman gets pale as he suddenly realizes what's in the box that the weird robot guy is holding. Then he looks green, like he's going to be sick.
"You're sorry?" Zeddemore, a sideways glance directed at Shavaris. "You people were sent to kill us. Actually, I think you were actually going to do it."
Spengler takes his time comforting Janine, then approaches Travin, reaching down again to pull the top of the box open.
"Where was he going?" He asks, gently, obviously referring to Ward, when he'd left in Travin's body. "Who does the other head belong to?"
Stantz is pacing, holding his forehead while he thinks.
"We have so many problems." He says. As he paces, the Twin Travins fall in behind him and begin to pace in the same manner, mocking his mannerisms. "We don't know who did this. We don't know how to get to Vigo. And now we're cut off from being able to safely go above ground and research buildings built by Ivo Shandor. So what do we do now? Think any of you can go to the Register of Deeds? Library? Can you even read our language?"
He considers for a moment longer.
"I don't know if I grabbed the right books. I don't even know if what I have here with me will give me what I need to figure out how to cure your infliction."
At the movement of the box and the words of Spengler, Travin clutches the box tighter and let's out a whine that sounds like a dying animal, the whine then develops into quiet sobs before Travin looks up, the light returning to his robotic eyes... "My body.. my brother... these are their remains... Ward was clever but stupid, he had the teleportation helm, he sent us a clue of his whereabouts, he told us who did this, the treasure, the papers."
A look of painful realisation seems to stab through travin's chest as he looks to the floor and then crumples on to it. "You're just selfish, the last words I said to my brother! You're just selfish..." he bursts into wails once more "I can't... I can't do this anymore... I don't deserve to go on. stop this, someone make it stop." his body shakes, wracked with guilt, grief and despair.
Dageron leaves the others to console Travin, turning his attention instead to Stantz. "You will be unfettered, and guarded. Do you see this bangle?..." He touches the magical bracelet and changes appearance to that of his Human persona. "We have several, and in his current state," Dageron gestures at Ward, "my companion is likely not ready for another field assignment. If you take his, then we can provide a few guards while you complete your research completely unfettered."
He looks to the others. "Which brings me to another concern. The bangles were from Strahd, and the heads and their box from possibly Vigo. We know magic works here, and must assume they can scry for us in this place. We will not be safe from the city's lawgivers if indeed they are being directed to us by our enemies. The bangles should allow some of us to confound their Human agents, but we must assassins and Stormtroopers will come for us as well. I suggest we set traps, and try to stay mobile."
Shavaris wraps her arms around Travin, glad to see he was at least reacting and talking again. She looks up to Dageron, "Travin is right. Ward sent us clues as to who did this. This box isn't from Vigo, it's from Strahd. I'm sure Strahd sent the police as well since Ward seemed to have gone after him." she looks towards the box and emotion enters her voice, "and lost."
Giving Travin another squeeze, she directs her next statements at Stanz, "Dageron is right, we are able to disguise ourselves if you need to get more information as you seem to be talking about. As for Vigo, the kids we just lost were hanging out at Coney Island the one that is missing was transforming into a vampire, he had the scent. So maybe that is a lead to Vigo? And for Ivor, will the library help you for that?"
Finally she turns to Travin, giving him all her attention. She tries to take the box out of his hands, but if he won't let her, she doesn't push it. She wants to hold his hands if she can. "Travin, I know the pain you're going through, I do. I don't even remember the last words I said to my sister, but I am sure it wasn't sunshine and cookies, we were in a deadly situation she put us in and I was not happy about it. And now... I live and she does not." Her voice quavers a bit, but she takes a moment and regains her composure. "Nothing I can say will take away the hurt. It will hurt, you lost your brother, but it wasn't your fault, not one bit. There are people here who need you, you can do this and you will. You're a fighter. You survived the junkfields and now you will survive this. Maybe someday you'll find the ghost of him as I found the ghost of Eloise. I will ask her to help find him." She pauses, holds his face in her hands as she looks at him, "Grieve now, take this time, but don't leave us. Please."
"Ivo, not Ivor." Stantz corrects Shavaris, though gently. "The library may help us with microfiche and all that. What we really need to get to is the Register of Deeds. Don't...don't worry about what that is, alright? If we have that sort of magic available, we can try to use it to get there and get some information. Not sure how I feel about that. Magic in this world is usually associated with the occult and bad things, but if it helps...well. We have to do something to clear ourselves before Strahd can get to us."
"Hold the phone, sports fans." Venkman says, looking at the bangle that Dageron is holding up. "Scrying? I don't care who sent the heads, I don't guess...okay wait, yes, actually I do...but...thinking out loud here... If someone is scrying or whatever, can they do it through those things? Or? I really wish I'd have grabbed the tylenol."
He reaches up, pressing the heel of one hand into a temple.
"Even if you can get to Coney Island,"Stantz continues, "How are you going to get the information you need from the Lost Boys? They're pretty dangerous. A lot of disappearances in that area we think are their doing, but it's a complicated situation. They're not really ghost, we're not cops...it's a whole thing. We might be able to get to the Register of Deeds if you can do that, but Venkman might have a point. I don't know."
Dageron looks to Adam, then the others. "We should not split up. We can provide protection to the library as a first measure. Once completed, then seek other clues, such as these 'lost boys. If Strahd really killed Ward and sent these lawgivers after us - and if his greatest concern really is the Humans discovering Vampires are real - then I say we help him realize that fear using them." He looks to the Ghostbusters, "To use Strahd's own trick against him, we would need your assistance. We do not know this world, or the complexities of your society. He sent the lawgivers, knowing exactly what to tell them to get them to come at the precise moment he needed them to. If we were to use the Lost Boys in a similar fashion, first extracting the information we need from them then exhibiting them to enough Humans - ones who are trusted and credible - his life will become infinitely more difficult. Can you think of Humans who can disseminate the truth about Vampires in your world to enough other Humans that it would have such an effect as to force the authorities of government to be convinced? We can ensure them 'live' specimens if needs be."
Bristling with energy and light after the frolicking in the streets with the cops they seem ready for the next adventure. With honking horns, stacked cars and people fleeing for their lives left behind then zoom after their friends. However, upon entering the doom and gloom of the sewer and the mood of recently losing someone their light dims a bit.
"Stupid Strahd. Here I was going to do him a solid favor too. Well, no ghostbuster vampires for him. He's too stupid. So revenge it is! If he didnt like the ghostbusters before hell doubly hate them now." The fairy flutter around looking for something and seeing the stinky walls and dark near lightness area they frown.
"Well, i can say it was very very likely Strahd. If someone else framed him they did a ridiculously good job. Blood trail even went to his building. So, kind of his fault if he let such good framing happen to him. Gotta reward that kind of hard work. Though. I'd like to deal with saving our world and Sarah first then deal with strahd."
They fly over to Shavaris and land on their shoulder as they tall with Travin. "Yeah, no leaving. I assume you want help getting revenge right? If he's scared of a few musty wizards with strange wands imagine the kind of horror we can Inflict on him." Delphinium gets a devilish grin as their aura flickers purple and darker.
They snap to as talk of Ivo begins. "I vote we stick together and whatever building you think this Vigo is at let's just go and beat him up. So, where too? I'm not the best at helping if you need to read. If we need to find stuff out I can hunt very well but research not my thing. I am more the boom, plot, scheme and punch kind."
Travin places a hand on Shavaris' arm as she touches the box, preventing her from taking the grotesque thing from him, he looks around at dageron and Delph trying to help and then settles his gaze on shavaris, still not letting go, still sobbing through his stunted speech "this has been my fault from the beginning, and no, I didn't survive the junk fields, they just didn't let me die... don't worry about me leaving, Strahd needs to die, Ralik and Shavaris need saving. Then this storyworld needs to end.
I lost my brother a long time ago, I thought I could get him back but I was wrong. I lost myself too somewhere along the way, before I had hope, I was bargaining with myself, telling myself I could fix things..."
Travin looks away finally and glances to the two clones of his former body, then looks down again dejected and resigned to grief, he stays this way until the group moves again.
Shavaris watches Travin, unsure what to say. Hearing he no longer has hope, scares her, but she doesn't push it.
She listens to what Stantz and Venkman say and then Dageron's add and her head starts to hurt as well. She doesn't know what they are talking about, but knows they need to get moving. "Look, I'm game for whatever makes sense next, but we need to move, we have a short timeline and as time passes.... Ralik and I are going to be of less use to you all. So where to first?"
Adam nods to Dageron, saying “How do we get to the library, if that is the next step? Where does this exit? Then we need another vehicle, something inconspicuous. I do think we should all stay together. The bangles can disguise whoever needs access to the library, then we go forward from there. Do you guys know where we are headed, where this comes out?” He looks to the ghostbusters.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Well yeah, we're definitely going to have to go public with this whole vampire thing." Zeddemore said to Dageron as he tried to rub the feeling back into his face. "The problem is that we're going to have to get a move on with tackling some part of this. Vigo's an issue but at this point Strahd may be a more direct threat to us than he is. Which, I don't know if any of that matters because it's going to be hard to get the word out without going to jail first."
"Next one of you sad Sally's says something about going ta jail I'm gonna scream!" Janine warned. Her voice bounced around the inside of hte old subway station, reverberating off the brick walls all around them.
"You can leave the reading up to us...Fireflight, was it?... I'm not even sure what to do with you while we're in there researching. How many of those bangles do you have? Eight? That's enough for five of us and three of you. We can probably hide Fireflight pretty easy in a pocket or something. Adam and Shavaris can pass as human...but your clothes are weird. Actually, wait. Your team was all over the news yesterday, correct? We'll come back to all that. Getting a car is going to be tough in this situation. One focus at a time. Let's get to the library, and then we'll figure out everything else after that."
Spengler was nodding to himself as he said this, then seemed to decide it was time to move. He started the slow walk out of the subway station after that, heading off toward one of the nearby rail tunnels with a flashlight in his hand.
"This should take us close to the Manhattan library." He said, before adding, "At least, I think so."
It wasn't exactly next door to the library, but the maintenance chaseway for the subway station was only a couple blocks from their destination, according to Egon. They'd come up through a manhole cover and had found themselves lucky enough to be inside the pipe-chase, where they had enough room to hide, store any equipment they were leaving behind, and begin making arrangements to hit the streets.
"So who's going?" Stantz asked. "How many bangles do we have again? Egon, did you say eight? Is that right?"
Travin doesn't talk as the group walk, doesn't sob or wail any longer, he stares at the floor and clutches his box of gore tight. As Stantz comes up with a plan and asks who is choosing to go up, travin merely sits down in response, looking over to Janine and patting the floor next to him, inviting her to sit too. To leave the rest to the plan, gathering info and guarding the ghost busters. Maybe he thinks to little of Janine's usefulness or maybe he just expects her tendancy for high strung reaction to endanger the group, either way he wordlessly invites her to sit.
"The name is Shavaris, not Sally." Shavaris retorts to the annoying receptionist. As she hears the ghostbusters concentrate on Strahd, she gets worried. She's so very glad to have Ralik back, but she didn't really think about the situation she would put herself in. She looks down at what she is wearing as they say she has strange clothes and shrugs, she thinks they are fine.
She is happy to see Travin get up and move, her back is especially happy as she herself gets back up and follows. She looks around the place as she does, everything so very foreign to the wood elf as they walk through the tunnels. "I don't know how many bangles we have, I know I have one that I'm willing to give up if that helps. What are we looking for in the library? And would it help to go under the cover of night? Or is it night?" She is realizing how confused she is on everything and looks to Adam for some sort of sense about what is going on.
“I don’t know if that “Marlboro Man” on the billboard is the right application for my bangle. I can go along to cover and bust some heads if things go south.” He turns and looks at Shavaris, saying “Hey Sally, you could go as that lady I saw on the ad on that strange box of pictures that said “Where’s the Beef?” Hah! And I can go as an old man who likes to read and sniff books….” He looks at the rest of them for ideas and discussion as they prepare who should go into the library.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"In our world, there are professional entertainers. Their craft necessitates an entire market of supplies, notably Disguise Kits. Many spies and rogues use those when infiltrating someplace, especially if their face is known. Does your world not foster such an industry? Could we not attain mundane disguises for your cabal, while we wear the bangles?" Dageron offers.
While the others ponder different plans, Ralik focuses on his breathing and tries to calm himself down. The environment and situation were all too over stimulating for the Nomad.
"I don not need a bangle. I have my own ways to deceive the eyes." He says with a little flourish of Minor Illusion. He still looks dejected though.
"My and Shavaris' lives are at stake here. If we kill Strahd we die. If we don't do what he says in 6 days, we die. I hope you and yours understand the amount of faith we have put in you and the amount of self control it takes to not just be done with the task. We have chosen the many obstacle road to keep our hands clean of innocent blood and to do the right thing." Ralik says before turning gravely serious.
"Despite this, I must tell you. I have a greater goal. I will do my best to do this the way my heart says is right, but if you fail before the last day, then despite how weak I may seem, I will take the wrong path. I have made my word to complete my greater goal, and I will not break my word." He says shifting eye contact with all present.
Ralik lessens his intensity "I still do no think Strahd is stupid enough to leave so obvious a trail to his own door step. He does not want any attention, yet you think he did all of that, knowing we know the truth and could bring him to calamity. I hate him more than any of you. I know him more than any of you. I do not think attacking him is wise. Not until me and Shavaris are free of this curse."
After he says what he felt he needed to them, he moves to Travin and sits by him. Ralik puts a hand on his shoulder and just sits, being there for him and needing nothing in return.

With no sign of Janice coming to sit with them, Travin looks to Ralik, clutching his box, and taking a chance he whispers as low as a robot can whisper, "you weren't our primary directive... We were sent to get Sarah back from Viggo and stop the magic being stolen... You should kill them, their bodies wouldn't be found in the sewers, and they don't really exist to start with... Aren't the considerations and restraint just exhausting? Isn't dying once enough? You think the group would blame you? They were ready to kill for you the second we got to that building..." Travin goes quiet and stares off at the wall once more, dejected.
"I am thankful for all of you willing to do whatever is needed for me, I do. They may not be real, but my choices are. Who I am, is real. My path is not one of comfort and easy choices. My path is a constant test of my heart. Even if they are not real, it is not in my heart. I am sorry." Ralik says to his friend in a soft whispering tone with no animosity apparent.

Venkman shrugs when so much doubt is cast down upon the trip to the library.
"We can do this or not? Someone else would have to go into a costume shop for us. We're too well known. If you guys can do that for us, we'll just do our own thing while you do whatever. We can meet back up later? Or not at all that's cool too. Just so long as we get past this mess I'm game for never seeing any of you again."
Spengler's eyes shift from Venkman to the Dawn Guard, then to the rest of the Ghostbusters.
"I don't agree with Peter entirely, but I can see the validity of his point. We may be holding you up. We can rendezvous back in the subway station tonight if that works better for you."
Feeling torn with all the turmoil of the situation, Shavaris looks up to Spengler and Venkman, "If you all don't mind, I'd like us all to stay together. We are in a strange world." she peeks over at Travin as she says this, but continues on, "And we obviously need help. If the library is the next logical step, sure we can work to get you costumes if that is what you need. I am assuming we will need to purchase such things and I doubt our gold will work? Or will it?" She pulls out a couple for them to investigate.

Spengler had paused putting his proton pack down.
