Geoff exhails deeply and places the Staff under his cloak. As he moves towards the second spider, he says to Shan who is leaning on her staff, "You look tired, are you alright, Shan?"
He retrieves his spear, cleans off the tip, and slings his shield onto his back. "Quite disgusting indeed. Job well-done everyone—is anyone hurt? I can help. We should be cautious before venturing inside."

Shan replies “Well I am more used to sit and read than cross a swamp. And the energy required to cast my magic is taxing. But I am fine thanks.” She says smiling.
As you move into the house, or what is left of it you are relieved to see that the giant spiders did serve as a deterrent for more monsters or large beast to intrude in their territory. For now, the place is safe.
OOC: You can take a long rest but you'll need to do guard duties. The whole swamp is still creepy.
Geoff says, "I'm ok Kinlin. I think we're safe for a little while at least... Escarin my friend, if you wish I will take the first watch. I did not exert myself too much against those spiders and I feel quite awake. I'm happy to take any shift."
"Sounds good to me Geoff, wake me when you wish, please do not over tax yourself my body needs less and less sleep these days it seems" Escarin smiles ruefully "I don't need as long as Shan to recover my energy, but then my powers don't work the same way. Anyway, call when you will".
Before resting Escarin takes a good look around their surroundings, looking for anything of value or interest.
Xorn begins looking around the area for the spider’s nest. As much securing the perimeter as looking to see if the spiders had secured anything of value in their life spans.
When he he returns to the house ”I am fine to take watch at any time as well. I am not all that tired anyway. “

Geoff quickly eats the rest of a ration then takes out the Staff, cups his hand over the tip and says, "Light come forth."
A small, torch-like flame seems to come out the end of the staff, yet gives off no heat whatsoever. Geoff puts his hand to the side and stands by the others settling in.
The night goes by without an itch. Well not exactly for some of you as insects start making your life a real nightmare as the sun settles over the horizon and the heat lets up.
In the morning you are relieved to see that the large and dark clouds are rolling by and that you are once again on the move. Like a miracle, the mosquitoes and other stinging insects go away as you all wake.
Xorn has made his rounds during the night and inspected the spiders' nests. Nothing but sucked out carcasses can be found many hanging from dying trees like grotesque fruits. It seems like the place has been raided al ing time ago and that no intelligent beings venture that way.

For Bryony
2 weeks you have been in this swamp and you have not seen anyone but that damn lizard, Bozak it says it's species is with its sibilant voice. You are in some kind prison. All around you are thick walls of straw and wood. You've tried to push through despite your binding to no avail. There are more of those creatures moving beyond your jail but you can't see through.
You are attached to the main post by an iron chain tied to your ankle by a rudimentary lock.
Geoff says, "Xorn, I have no idea how you found fresh meat this morning in this putrid swamp. Very impressive, and appreciated... especially since this part is making me feel quite uneasy. Does anyone else feel as if something is off?"

Chained as she is, Bryony can only bide her time. And quietly pray.
Prayer doesn't come easily to her. For all her life, prayer was reserved for someone else, someone she no longer followed. It'd be all too easy to drop into familiar routines, let the ritual words spill from her lips. Instead, her prayers are whispered and heartfelt, if awkward. Prayers of deliverance to Gods who long ago abandoned Krynn. Bound as she is, Bryony knows there must be a purpose to her captivity. Perhaps her captors have her in mind for a sacrifice eventually. As long as that chain remains, there's little she can do but pray...and practice. The exercises of soldiers come more easily than fumbling prayer does and two weeks is enough time to stretch and strengthen limbs.
As Xorn uses his axe to cut through a troublesome vine hanging low in the way, he looks back a Geoff and Escarin “Even in the places most remote and barren, there is life if you know how to find it. This place is teaming with life, it currently though is full of danger as well. We are close now, prepare yourselves and be watchful.”
Xorn moves to the first spider and retrieves his spear. The begins dragging the spider corpses into a pile away from the abandoned shack.
“We should find their nest. We may have liberated something of value. “
