"That'll be five silver," the lady behind the counter at the herbal shoppe says to Misha. "You know, we have garlic and oregano, too. Only a silver each. Plus we have some rare herbs and spices used by the chefs from Mina' Al'ukul, including saffron, coriander, and dragon peppers."
Misha hands over the silver. “Ooo! If I can afford it, yes! Also, do you have any cooking oil? It’ll help keep things from sticking to my skillet and add to the flavor! Olive, vegetable or peanut oil will work!”
The little gnome gets excited to cook for her group. She looks to Skorli, “Scarborogh fair? Cannot say I have ever heard of it. It sounds nice, though. Why do you ask?”
Misha hands over whatever silver or gold she has left from her 3 gold and 5 silver left in her pouch to the merchant.
"Certainly. We have olive oil, of course. I'm not sure what a peanut is or how you would get oil from it, but I can ask around," the proprietor says. "Here is a list of what we have in stock as far as herbs and spices go," she says handing Misha a printed piece of paper. "For all of this, you can have your pick."
Misha excitedly picks one of each and a bottle of olive oil. She turns to Leokoris and Skorli. “Oh! It is a song? It sounds like a pretty song. You’ll have to sing it sometime to me.”
She pats her bulging pack with all the spices and oil, “I am ready. Thank you for being so patient!”
Misha follows Leokoris and anticipates the fish and chips she is describing.
Once at the barracks, Misha undresses and neatly folds her clothes and places them on the end of her bed. Then, she pulls a nightgown over her head. She collapses into the bed and pulls out her long, raven black hair with red highlights that is tied with blue ribbon. Her hair spills down and over her shoulders and back before she lays down for some rest.
”Goodnight Leokoris! Good night Primrose! Goodnight Skorli! I look forward to whatever tomorrow brings! I think I shall dream of swimming with narwhals in an ocean of caramel tonight.” And with that she soundly puts herself to sleep until she is awoken the next day.
The soldier looks in on her squad, with a pinch, listening to the slow, steady, atonal yet oddly harmonious rhythm of troops sleeping in a barracks room. And then sets to work cleaning her weapons before racking out herself.
We are waiting for everyone to get all the supplies they might need. Misha and Leokoris were at an herb and spice shoppe. Primrose was looking for an arcane focus, a rod or wand of some sort, I think. Rhi was talking about getting a tattoo. Most everyone else has gotten +1 weapons and armor from the Frelian Defense Forces (FDF) depot. If anyone needs anything else, Freeport is the largest port city on the planet of Niersala. You should be able to find just about anything you need or want, within reason, of course. Sergeant Sloan will return tomorrow afternoon (game time) to get you all started for the camp of the Goblinoid Army, at which time, I will probably make two new threads, one for each team.
Rhi looks to the FDF quartermaster and asks, "Do you happen to have a shortbow? And a quiver or two of arrows to go with it? How about a nice spear, preferably one that has excellent balance?"
Kadakithes grabs a short bow (+1 to hit) off of the shelf along with a quiver of ten arrows (+1 damage). Then he goes to another shelf and pulls out a long black spear (+1) with a beautiful metal point. "Try this one out for balance," the quartermaster says to the bird-man as he hands him the spear.
Windy takes her hand-smoothed stick and whacks his head just enough to hurt.
"Rude it is to call a lady ma'am, yes?"
"Windy fights as animal". Her arm and hand transform into a large bear arm and paw. She swipes it around, nods her head in approval. Seconds later she stands in bear form; large, grey, overly hunched and panting and growling loudly.
"You have something for Windy, yes?" she says to the man telepathically with a wide smile - at least, she intends it to be a smile - on her bear face.
"Um," Kadakithes thinks for a moment, eyes wide and rubbing the sore spot on his head. "I -- um -- don't think the FDF supplies anything for bears. Um, maybe you could use this quarterstaff (+1)?"

Leokoris smiles, remembering...Thank you, Skorlis... that was one of the songs we played when we were kids, my brother and our cousins...

Leokoris thanks the shopkeeper..
If we're all set, then? We should start heading back to the barracks, and grab some fish and chips from a cart on the way if we see one...

Okay.

Windy walks around muttering to herself and cackling.
"Oh yesssss, Windy knows, Windy knows"
She searches for someone to help prepare her for the adventure ahead.
"Hello? HELLO? Windy needs help, yes? Someone will come help, yes? YES?"
She cackles some more.
The quartermaster clerk Kadakithes quickly hurries to help the old crone. "What can I get for you, ma'am," he says as politely as he can.
"Ma'am? MA'AM?"
Windy takes her hand-smoothed stick and whacks his head just enough to hurt.

Dire asks if they have any special or magical Rapiers.
D&D since 1984
"Not magical, but top of the line," Kadakithes says with a smile as he hands Dire a rapier (+1).
Rhi, I need you to join Goblinoid Army -- Team North: https://ddb.ac/campaigns/join/2887879118664502
"Foolish man. What good is a staff to a bear, yes? HMFPH!"
She snatches it from his hand and walks away in a huff, cussing and moaning
Dire holds the rapier and tests it and says "This is a good weapon. How much do I owe you?"
