As you go to aid the fellow dwarf, the door between you and the crew deck is rudely shut before you have the chance.
Over the rest of the afternoon however, you do eventually meet a few more of the crew; A female Dwarf who appears a bit of a tom boy named Runi, Ragar, who offers up a game of dice to whoever is game and the one who you saw being thrown around, a quiet Dwarf named Fimlin.
Thought I remembered you mentioning Ragar's name before, so I went looking back through older posts...and I found this. Only problem I have with it is that it's a little unclear on who exactly was being tossed around. Was it Ragar or Fimlin?
Nia gave Chubby an odd look but followed him out, chattering about magical theory. Knowledgeable practitioners might be disturbed by the lack of actual substance in Nia's words but it at least sounded impressive. At crispy's shout Nia smirked. "Uh oh, the missus wants you."
I don't believe so, not yet. You guys have met: Gorum, Thorbore, Runi, Fimlin, Daalmin, Orvi and Faro. So far, you have not conversed with: Burgol, or Ragar.
It’s getting late aboard The Golden Lining and the off duty Dwarves have retreated to the crew quarters in the lower deck. The ship is gliding smoothly through the night sky, all that can be heared is the soft swooshing of sails and the grumble of fire overhead.
I find it difficult to imagine Liam allowing anyone to just wander off to sleep at a moment like this, not when they know there's an apparent murderer aboard. He'd request that the dwarves help him find and identify Ragar before anyone is dismissed to sleep.
Upon hearing his name (called by Crispy), Chubby wink and politely bows to Nia, "Thank you, my lady. Until another time, perhaps?" and then saunters off to catch up with Crispy and see what it is he's needed for.
Upon being brought up to speed by Crispy on the task of finding the missing Ragar, he has an idea (with an ulterior motive, perhaps?). "All living things gotta eat, right? I bet you a bottle of '86 Gramgurn that eventually this Ragar fellow will get hungry and try to sneak into the galley and grab some food and drink. I'm gonna go hang out down there and keep an eye on things...."
With that, he heads downstairs, shuts all the doors (so he can tell when someone tries to enter), grabs a chair, and settles down with a good bottle of mead. Errr, "milk". Yeah. "Milk".
"Alright." She says. "I'll hang out below on the crew deck. If anyone's acting shifty, i'll...handle it."
Crispy hangs out on the crew quarters deck, trying to find a dark corner, squats down tightly, and leans against the wall. If anyone comes in or out of the crew quarters, she's got this area covered.
Gregor grabs Nia and Liam before they dissaper to who knows where, and quickly pulls them to a corner no one could hear or see them talking
“Me be thinking my friends, that with fading magic res-E-dew, missing dwarf friend, and puncture wounds, that a dark magic or scary creature, like vampire be involved. You two are magic friends, can you check Gregore hy-pot-e-thus?”
Liam looks pleasantly surprised at Gregor's conclusion and request.
"That's quite the astute observation, my friend," he says calmly with a firm nod, "and yes, that's exactly the train of possibility that I'm intending to investigate, since it seems Crispy and Chubb have searching for this Ragar fellow under control. And what do you intend to do exactly?"
He then turns his face to Nia, though not so much as to exclude Gregor. "And Nia? Is this a bit grisly for you, or do you think you'd like to help?"
Gregor scratches his chin and stares at the corner of the room in contemplation.
“There be no bug friends by body, which makes easy murder case no happen, but maybe Gregor can find insect friends by ship supplies and they give clues? Gregor can probably do not much else other then be body guard.”
Gregor then points at the two younger team members and says “Gregor be big boy with bulging muscles and a good sense for danger, but you two probably best be having buddy system so nothing ambushes you yes? Until we land, must be assuming enemy is on ship at all times, maybe someone should tell other friends this too.”
Gregor then wishes his teammates good luck, and heads for the ship supplies where he will take his time looking for any insects.
Put your spoiler here. Assuming that he’s taking his time, and just looking for insects on the supplies or really anywhere on the ship, do you want me to roll any dice, or just proceed to finding something and casting speak with animals?
"You just made two good points," Liam says slowly. "One, you ARE a great bodyguard, and two, we have to assume there's an enemy aboard this ship. Staying in groups is a sound idea."
As he says this, he motions towards Ruven's quarters at the stern of the ship, before looking back at Gregor.
"Go find your insect friends if you can, but I don't think you should take too long. Our esteemed captain and employer is in no less danger than the rest of us."

Chubby is a big galoot (all brawn, no brains)....that being said, I’m confused about searching for insects. What am I missing? When you first said that, I was picturing maggots, but those only show up on decaying dead bodies days later. How are insects involved here?
Honestly, I've been wondering the same thing. I've been assuming it's an RP or backstory factor, but it WOULD be nice to know the specifics if that's the case.

You saw Fimlin being thrown around earlier. Perhaps Gorum couldn't find Ragar?

But Chubby DID meet Ragar earlier?

So the above mentioned post which mentions Ragar by name was a mistake or typo then?
Oh, I see it now- Yes, that was a typo. Replace that with Burgol

Got it, understood.

"Gregor, wait!" Liam calls out as Gregor turns to walk away.
