DM: My head hurts trying to figure this out. As a fighter, I can use Second Wind to heal myself, once every short rest. With chilling around the campfire, sleeping, and the watch cycles, how many short rests would you consider that? i.e. how many times can I use my Second Wind feature to heal 1d10+4? Once or twice?
If only once, Chubby heals 5. If twice, he heals an additional 12.

So a short rest in my campaigns last 2 hours, a long rest 6-8.
Dont’t forget on a short rest, you may heal by rolling upto your maximum hit dice + con modifier each time.
After a long rest, you are fully replenished.
Technically, you shouldn’t have to use it during a rest, that’s what hit dice are for... Does that help?

So on his watch, Gregor will approch the most docile looking snake in the vacinity, chanting and clenching his bear fang in hand. Assuming the required 10 minutes pass without incident Gregor speaks out to the snake.
”Hello snake friend. Gregor be being nice guy, have nice rat just for you!” Gregor pulls out a dead rat from somewhere in his magical coat with many pockets. “This one be being dead and all, but if you be Gregors friend and tell Gregor some answers to Gregors questions, you can live comfortable life with many alive and plump tastey animals.”
”First question, well first what is snake friends name, and second, what you be knowing about cat temple by here? Anything be being helpful, even rumors from other snake friends.”

I think Chubby has a secret sticker book which he's pulling pictures from...I picture him sitting there with his tongue out, thinking REALLY hard, like a 4 year old working on a crayon drawing for mommy and daddy.

Crispy puts a hand on his shoulder just as Chubby is about the crumple the map and throw it over his shoulder. He looks at Crispy, and she nods and winks at him, as if communicating silently about his frustration and commitment to the mission. Chubby relaxes, sighs, and considers redoing the map.
Nia proudly shows off her own rendition of the map.
Crispy looks over the map. After a few seconds of silence, and looking at Nia, she pats her head and squeezes her cheek, rolling her eyes in pleasant amusement.
”This map is incredibly accurate...! If only you had some stickers.”
Yeah, west is north compared to the rest of the continent- if that makes your brain hurt because north is usually up, I'm happy to map it the usual north = up. It doesn't matter really, as a self contained map.

“Why you be calling big ape ‘King’? Is he scariest thing on this island, because that would be making Gregor’s job much easier.”
”One last question for tonight. Is there a big boss or king snake Gregor can be talking to, to make sure that snakes and people friends be getting along, because lots of people friends be coming soon, and Gregor would rather have snakes be friends with people if people coming inevitably.”

”Is that a literal soon, like snake king be coming in next few minutes, or a soon as in next morning soon. Anyways Gregor be thanking you for help, Gregor and friends will be trying to be quiet and leave snake grounds as soon as possible.” Gregor then gives the rat he’s been holding to the snake as reward.
The snake seems to pause slightly before taking the rat- "sssssurvivor in temple me thinksssss" it hisses before retreating with the rodent.
A few moments pass by, Gregor before you hear a hissing, whispering sound. Just one, feint "Issssssssshhhhhh" ... another, "issssshhh" and another, "iiissshhh". You hear it grow louder and surround you "IIISSSSSHHHHHHHHH..." Before suddenly falling silent.

The next morning, Gregor assembles the party before breakfast is served and gives them a brief breakdown of last nights talk with the snake.
”So Gregor be talking to snake yes, and learned a few things. Snake refer to Ape as King, however Snake also refers to another thing as ‘King Snake’. Gregor not sure if this means King is just most powerful member of species, or if king also means demon, but anyways a ‘King Snake’ be coming soon.
Also, Cat People of temple be dead for long time according to Snake, however a survivor is also in temple. Gregor not sure if that be meaning a survivor of tribe people, or a survivor of building/exploration crew, but Gregor be thinking we best be double timing it to temple.”
