Temple of Ishassara

Assessing the situation, Liam decides the best course of action will be to take out the two smaller gricks as quickly as possible so that the group can focus on the larger one.  Shifting sideways to position himself between the gricks and Nia, he fires off Magic Missile at 1st level, with all three bolts targeting the grick that Gregor isn't standing next to (so G2).

Damage: 8 Force.

"Take out the weaker ones first so they aren't harrying us while we deal with the big one!" he shouts out to the group.

The Alpha Grick opens its beak wide, letting out another loud SCREEEEE. It looks at the other two smaller gricks, and makes some clicking and chittering noises, motioning them to attack your group. It seems to be standing down for now.

Crispy and Chubby are up!

Crispy sprints up, passing Gregrage, and does what she does best, sarcasm and pain mixed in with saucy sexiness, and attacks a little grick, IF I can use sneak attack on it due to Gregors proximity. If not, I attack the Alpha.

Sneak:Attack: 16 Damage: 13
Offhand: Attack: 25 Damage: 7

"That's gonna leave a mark!" She yells. Gods, those nat 20s, they favor me today.

Enjoying the sight of Gregor attacking the Alpha Grick, Chubby takes command of the battlefield as only a Battle Master can. Calling out commands, directing the troops...he’s in his element. As such, he uses his Commander’s Strike maneuver, and forgoes his own attack, ordering Gregor to immediately attack.

Gregor, you get one immediate attack on the Alpha Grick. And please add 7 extra damage to your attack damage (due to my expended superiority dice).

 Assuming the Grick that Gregor and Crispy were fighting has been slain, Gregor will be invigorated by Chubby's very inspiring orders, and move the 10 or so feet to attack the Alpha Grick (I hope thats allowed by Commander Strike, it dosent say anything about movement)

Because Gregor did not choose to attack recklessly at the start of this turn, he cannot activate it now sadly, so he will try his luck and hit the Alpha Grick normally. (fingers crossed)

I'm pretty sure we blew up that little grick, though.. LOL

With a coordinated team attack, Grick one which was out in the open is felled easily. Grick two slithers quickly towards Crispy, lashing out with its tenticles:
Attack: 12 Damage: 11
If hit, it then pulls you in for a bite attack: Attack: 8 Damage: 12

Next up, Nia!

Order: Liam, Gregor, Crispy, Alpha, Chubbs, G2, Nia.

Crispy weaves rapidly avoiding the attack, all instinct and experience - regrouping with the nearest ally to prepare and counterattack.

She points at Nia, smiling, expecting something amazing to happen.

Nia narrows her eyes dangerously, aims her staff first at the Alpha and then at the remaining Grick. A quick prayer to Mystra that her magic be strong enough and to Tymora for luck, and then  she cast Scorching Ray

Ray one on Grick Alpha: Attack: 15 Damage: 7

Ray two on Grick 2: Attack: 17 Damage: 11

Ray one on Grick Alpha: Attack: 11 Damage: 5

Grick 2 takes a scorching ray to it's body, the smell of scorched flesh fills the cave as it lets out a screech.

Smoke fills the area after a brilliant flourish of fire bursts the alpha. All is quiet for a moment, before the smoke clears and the alpha can be seen still standing tall, two small scorch marks, only grazing it's stone like exoskeleton. You all realise in this moment, if you hadn't already, that this is game on.

Liam, Gregor and Crispy.

Order: Liam, Gregor, Crispy, Alpha, Chubbs, G2, Nia.

Crispy narrows her eyes, standing in a battle stance, motionless.

(Cue western showdown music riff)

"TSK!" Crispy makes a sound at Liam, clearly annoyed. "You're ruining my closeup with your questions! Hells!"

Gregor’s still pretty preoccupied with the Grick Alpha. Let’s try this again:

Hit: 12

(AUUUUGGGHHHH)

Yeah, the G2 is still up for now, although covered in it's own purple blood.

Gregor swings cauciously at the alpha once again, trying to ensure he doesn't open himself up in his defenses. His axe just misses the mark, glancing off. He lets out a frustrated ROAR, spitting saliva everywhere.

I'll join in with Gregor and do what i'm good at. (Using inspiration.)

Sneak Attack: 17 Damage: 15
Offhand Attack: 17 Damage: 3

(Oh that is just plain downright pathetic.. Sorry guys, i'm useless this round.)

"HELLS!" She screams.

"Don't worry. I'll get another chance next round.." - Crispy

The short swords glance off the Alpha's stony skin, you're just unable to find purchase. The smaller Grick you were just engaging in attempts an attack of opportunity as you dart over to it's Alpha: Attack: 14 Damage: 12

 Liam, you're up!

Order: Liam, Gregor, Crispy, Alpha, Chubbs, G2, Nia.

Liam wants the second smaller grick out of the fight, especially given how troublesome the alpha is proving to be.

Lv1 Magic Missile, all darts at Grick 2.

Damage: 13

After that, Liam continues to hold his position between Nia and the alpha.

And that does it! Three darts arc around a broken pillar, two around the right and one around the left, slamming into either side of the grick just as it was rearing back for another attack. It falls to the ground dead with a heavy thud.

The alpha grick rears back and emits another loud SCREEEE before lashing out at Gregor with it’s tentacles;

Attack: 12 Damage: 9 If they hit, it brings you closer and lashes with it’s beak; Attack: 8 Damage: 8

As it lashes out at Gregor, it simultaneously swipes at Crispy with it’s tail: Attack: 16 Damage: 15

Order: Liam, Gregor, Crispy, Alpha, Chubbs, Nia.

Crispy takes the grick's tail attack like a pro, but still grunts at the impact. She spins around, realigns herself and prepares to strike again.
