"Five... kobolds, passed through here about a day ago. Shouldn't be this far south." Gos stands up straight and takes a step back, letting the rest get a look at the footsteps. "They shouldn't be here, too south."
“I agree,” Ardyn said willing to go after the Kobolds as well. “but I think we should let Brottor know before we go after them, so he doesn't think we abandoned the expedition."

Everyone Having spent some time away from the expedition, Brottor comes looking for the party. "Ho! There you are. Have you found anything? Are we good to camp here?
Lord Orgosh "Kobolds? Wha..no. There shouldn't be any here. We did a risk analysis for this operation and kobolds were deemed a non threat as they didn't venture this far south. If they're just a one off rouge band, this shouldn't be a problem. But..if they'll regularly be this far south..it could be a problem. I'd like to know more. How do you think we should proceed?"
Gos taps her chin. "Best way would probably be to just continue but stay more on guard than otherwise. It only seems to be a few, so if we run into this group, we should be fine." She decided not to say the part about what would happen if the group of kobolds did have more than five. They could parse that for themselves.
As they are talking, Conductor takes out his eldrich cannon and sets it on the ground with its legs out. The cannon swivels around as Conductor looks for potential Kobolds nearby.
Ardyn stood silently his arms across his chest as he listened to the conversation, occasionally taking a look around watching for kobolds or any other possible threats that might be in the area.
Everyone Making the decision to proceed ahead as a group, you keep your eyes peeled for anymore signs of the kobold band. Nightfall approaches and you find an outcropping within a ridge to make camp in. It is small and uncomfortable, but it offers the best protection from prying eyes. Your group checks around and on top the ridge, just a little over 8 feet from your outcropping, you see a small fire about 300 feet away. The fire is positioned in between various large rocks and though it is hard to make out details at this distance, you can see figures around the fire.
Lord Orgosh With your spyglass, it becomes clear the figures are indeed kobolds. Five of them. Two of them are carrying spears and shields and the other three appear unarmed. But even with the spyglass, making out fine details at this distance is difficult. Especially since they're in between some boulders. They're white kobolds for sure which is what you were expecting. They appear to be cooking something. A small animal. Maybe fish or some other wild game. They don't appear to have any watches stationed.
"A hunting party of Kobolds, five that I can see, only two armed. No guards stationed, but also a strange sight. Kobolds don't need to cook their kills, they can eat rotten meat and not get sick... but they are crafty in their ways. This could be a sign their kind have finally evolved to appreciate cooked and seasoned foods... or a trap for the likes of us." Lord Orgosh offers the spyglass to anyone interested in observing their quandary. "We've no cause to murder hunters, and though they are Goblins they have committed no acts of aggression upon us. We can always attempt to parlay, and determine their business that way? Thoughts?"
Ardyn could see the orange glow of the fire in the distance, and the figure gathered around it, He heard Orgosh say it was a hunting party of Kobolds. "I agree with you Lord Orgosh, if these Kobolds leave us to be we should leave them alone". He said, seeing no reason to attack them if they weren't being hostile, but he did wonder why a hunting party of Kobolds had come this far south though. "However, it might be best to keep an eye on them until we move on or they do."
"Perhaps as a native to these lands I should go and find out what they're doing this far south? Wouldn't want 'em to get jumpy around foreigners.. no disrespect of course" Erskine offers with a shrug

“I do believe we should make sure they are far away from civilization.” Conductor will help search for the kobolds.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Kobolds notorious as miners as well? Perhaps they are an expedition of competition?" Lord Orgosh muses.
Upon showing him the tracks, Erskine scratches the goat behind the ear and examines the tracks further

"Why don't we follow the tracks and see if it looks like they're leaving? No need to cause a fight if it isn't necessary" Erskine says

Having spent some time away from the expedition, Brottor comes looking for the party. "Ho! There you are. Have you found anything? Are we good to camp here?
"Ho, Brottor! Some Kobolds have come by this way recently, it would seem. Have you encountered them in this area before?"
Lord Orgosh

Lord Orgosh laughs lightly. "No threat to a party as well prepared as we!"
