Tests and Trials Game Thread

The shadow creature is unable to catch the twisting dragonborn but the golem still standing there takes a swing at it.

Unfortunately the shadow creature, though looking far less imposing than when it first appeared, is a harder target to hit than Gethren and the golem's swing goes wide.

His prey taking from him, Kroshav bellows in anger and slashes at the shadow creature.

Attack: 28 Damage: 17 slashing plus 4 necrotic

The dragonborn's rage billows over, he has fully lost his shit at Gethren vanishing and promising to come back for Lurn.

The hulking shadow takes both blows meant for Gethren and looks much the worse for it, large streams of shadow evaporating off it now and in places has become nearly translucent. Whatever is driving it doesn't let it give up and it attacks with the same intent, falling on the raging paladin heedless of the inevitable outcome.

Attack: 15 Damage: 13

The golem punches the shadows as the go by with a stony, and highly effective fist.

Kroshav, without even moving, slides through one of shadow creature's new gaps without harm while the golem's fist hits the last bundle of shadow squarely. The knot of shadow shakes as it unravels, and with its unraveling the creature disperses entirely around Kroshav.

The golem turns to Kroshav,

"We are nearly done below. I will see to the wounded, though it is difficult through a golem."

The golem turns and proceeds to stand over Mikram, unable to offer aid yet.

Clopping stone feet can be heard down the stairs, just audible over the blood pounding in Kroshav's ears and cries of disappointment from Sword at not getting the kill and an overwhelming need to find another enemy.

Frustrated at Gethen getting away, and the golem letting him escape, Kroshav vents his anger on the poor stone construct.

The golem's back is turned as Kroshav bisects it. Sword cries with joy that rings through him,

Mikram lays before Kroshav but most of the rest of the landscape is hidden by snow and darkness.

Behind him the sound of heavy foot steps continue to echo up.

((Still have your second attack! The golem's are susceptible to necrotic damage.))

<An enemy approaches!>

Kroshav charges the steps, slashing down on whoever on their way to attack him!

<Kill them all!>

Kroshav hurries down the stairs and turns on the landing to see a trio of golems. All look to have see fighting and all ask,

"Kroshav? What is happening up on the surface? I lost contact with the golem?"

Insight: 6

They all (or rather just the Librarian) seem completely unaware of the menace radiating of the dragonborn.

((Not enough movement to attack them this round so the second attack is lost, but...))

Two attempt to move past him and the third moves to stand beside Kroshav.

They didn't stop Gethren!

Sword skitters off the little golem's arm as it tries to go past and it stops as three rough faces all turn to look at Kroshav.

The toneless voices of the trio don't convey any surprise or worry as they echo around the dragonborn,

"Kroshav are you okay?"

Arcana: 10

((Kroshav can take his action, the Librarian is still unsure what is going on.))

Kroshav bellows in rage as he sweeps his blade at two of them.

Attack: 9 Damage: 16 slashing + 7 necrotic

Attack: 19 Damage: 12 slashing + 9 necrotic

Something small, irritating and annoying resists in Kroshav's mind as he makes his swings. The first barely scraps one of the golems while the second swing skips Sword across the wall between two of them.

Another pair of golems appear at the bottom of the stairs, behind them 'stand' the Librarian and Joe. Both look up at Kroshav with concern. The Librarian and the golems all say,

"If you can hear me Kroshav, do not resist."

A wordless command sends the trio of golems nearest Kroshav into a dogpile. One dives at the tall dragonborn's legs while one attempts to wrap his waist and the third tries to wrap his arms.

The Librarian's eyes also flash as the trio leap.

((@Spider, give me three athletics (or acrobatics) checks to avoid being grappled, pretty sure you beat G2 and G3 without needing to roll though.

Also, please give me a wisdom saving throw.

If you beat the golems you are not grappled and if you beat a wisdom saving throw of 15 you can take your action.))

Kroshav plants his shield against one golem and leans into it, getting a booted foot up into the midsection of a second one and thrusting them back with a furious roar of anger, spinning and knocking the grasping arms of the third away as he throws his arms back and bellows his fury into the sky, heedless of whatever the Librarian is attempting.

He rakes Sword across the third golem.
