Tests and Trials Game Thread

"Probably orders to watch us.  No matter if we can't read it."

The leather bit, apparently with some text in indecipherable goblin on it, is discarded.

Thir asks,

"Tribe come. Is ready?"

She looks up at the sky and then around and asks,

"Dragon?"

"Well if it was a spy or scout I am glad you found it.    Thir here has the rest of her tribe coming this way in waves.  Less people at once, better chance of getting her unseen.

He looks back the way he came from.  "We did run into one yeti.   It managed to run away right as we saw it.  Not a good place to fight it, it would have also probably have made us noticed by the dragon, so we let it go.  But we need to watch for yetis, too, not just dragons and minions."

Then he finally looks back to Mikram with his eyes narrowed a bit, "You really think we would just run off and leave you?  C'mon."  He gives him a smile and continues, "Kroshav would probably burst into flame if he did anything that mean.  And the rest of us would eventually feel guilty." 

Finally he replies to Thir.  "The home can still be dug to be made bigger.  We aren't done just yet.   We just need to get your people here safely."

"I may also burst into flame if my patron knew me to do something so cowardly.  Stain his good image."

"There are also still griffins about."

Kroshav seems confused by all the talk of bursting into flame, but he lets it go.

Cladmir looked at the group and has to ask:  "So all in all, how many bodies are we talking about that we are going to have to fit in here?"

Mikram glares at Jaq,

"Ye ain't funny ye pale faced Drow. He should have said something before just leaving. Flame or no."

He does seem mildly comforted by the talk of people bursting into flames for being disloyal though.

Thir accepts Jaq's answer with a nod and in turn answers Cladmir with the precise number of,

"Many. Tribe many."

Kroshav would explain his concerns about the tracks leading directly to the cave, both from their recent excursion, and from the daily back and forth to the Library. 

"We ought to keep watch, see if there are any other of the dragon's folks lurking about."

He's not well suited to either of those tasks, though, so would resume digging wherever Mikram directs him.

Jaq nods at Kroshav's comment.   "I can keep watch." 

"Do you think we should do anything about the tracks here?"

Thir nods to Jaq.

"I meet halfway."

She gives Jaq, a perhaps some would say, lingering pat on the cheek.

Before turning and heading back the way she and Jaq arrived from.

Unless Kroshav says otherwise, Cladmir plans to hang around close to him, taking watch shifts as needed.

Kroshav, Mikram and Cladmir head back inside to keep enlarging the cavern/tomb.

Mikram, not one to have wasted time despite having been abandoned, puts Kroshav to work on a spot he'd identified.

"There. Should be safe, keep leaving in pillars like aye taught ye."

He says not unkindly but still a bit short.

The air is soon filled with the grinding of claw on stone and dust.

Outside Jaq and Ernos...?

Ernos huddles down, using Disguise Self to stand out less against the snow, and watches the distance for any movement.

Perception: 13

Kroshav throws himself into the work, figuring the best way to appease the dwarf is to exceed his expectations.

Cladmir will work close to Kroshav as much as possible.  He may have come to trust new new party members, and the librarian, but with so many new comers he wanted to make sure that he stick close to the paladin and cove his back.

When he is keeping watch he will use skills he learned from the trip with the hobgoblins.  He will make a snow bank and hide in the snow.  Keeping him warm when needed from the wind.
