“We’ll said friend, let us continue with our journey…” Stun says to Eskee. He then sends a signal the rest of the group that they’re ready to continue forward. 

Maverick calmly stops walking speeds his arms out and says

“Stop, the woods are waaaay too quiet, something is not right, (Sniffs the air) something is burning. Stay here!”

Using wild shape immediately after he says that, if possible, Maverick transforms into a baboon and takes off to the the trees to get to the highest point possible to see what he can see

Maverick sees smoke in the distance, coming from a hilly area of the forest. Also, he hears what sounds like screaming coming from the same direction.

Maverick comes back to the groups and transforms back and says 

“seriously, all of you how is your health? I saw smoke in the distance, and heard screams. I spend my days living amongst the common people who live in the woods and if the screams are coming from them I can’t ignore any wrong that is happening to them. I ask for you to join me, it could be more gnolls, it could be goblins, and it could be some of the kings men doing unspeakable things. Either way I have to help. I understand if you don’t want to go, helping random people in the forest is not what you signed up for, and I will hold no hard feelings, but I have to go.”

Maverick makes a quick glance over to Eskee in hopes that he knows that if the shoe was on the other foot without hesitation and without even having to think about it Maverick would drop whatever he was doing to help Eskee as well as hope Eskee remembers that these types of people are the same type that have houses and helped him in the past

“I deeply appreciate your healing, friend,” Asshrak says to Maverick. “Alright! All you can stay here and cower, but I’m with maverick!“ He then turns and follows Maverick.

“This will be a great time to practice our virtue, friends. I understand your feeling Maverick, we must not allow evil to thrive, no matter in what form in comes in.” He begins to walk in the direction Maverick is headed. 
“Maverick! I am with you, but let us approach Quietly. It’s better to see what we are dealing with before we take any action. We will cast away this evil Together!”

Stun begins to move with the group

“How does this sound for a game plan. When we get close we move slow and steady, spread out in a line but stay within 10 feet of one another, that way if something goes south we can help each other. That should at least allow us a good view of what’s going on and where we want to go. Once we get an idea of what’s going on we group back up, make a brief game plan, and move in, unless someone else has something better?”

“That’s the plan I had in mind, we walking into the unknown. No matter what we see, we most not react to what is occurring. When must responded in unison to defeat whatever evil is occurring and help those in need.” 
Stun then pauses for a moment…

”What is most important before we proceed, is no matter what happens, we have to be there to support each other. I think it goes without saying at this point, That I can count on you guys!”

Eskee takes in everything the group is saying. He says quietly, almost to himself, “Very strange.”  To the group he says, “It is decided then. Letsss go.”

OOC: I wanted to double check… if I remember correctly that last bit took place over three days. So we got a long rest, right?

OOC: That’s what I’m assuming 

OOC: For sure

OOC: if anything, we got like 3 in lol

OOC: cool, that’s what I thought. Then Maverick made me second guess myself when he asked how everyone’s health was. Thanks for the answers. 

Yes, you've had plenty of time to rest, heal, and prepare whatever magic you might need.

As you approach, you see a small house in the side of a hill with smoke billowing out of the windows. About a dozen goblins are hollering, shrieking, and dancing in the front yard. Off to one side is a family of halflings surrounded by several goblins and their boss. "That's what you get for not having a tribute ready for us," Maverick and Stun hear the big goblin say in common as he pokes the father halfling in the gut with his scimitar.

Can i roll for an insight check on the number of goblins?

Insight roll: 20

“ I can cause the ground to shake as well as produce a cloud of rain over the house and the goblins at the same time; however, it will only last for 1min. Do you think That could be enough to distract them for a moment and allow us to surprise them and the rain might be enough to put out whatever is causing the burning or at a minimum keep it from spreading. What do you all think?”

"I don't know much about these goblins, but they seem dimwitted like children. We have to split them up if we have a chance to defeat all of them. I like your plan Maverick, but the the surprise attack has to be on the big one, he seems to be the leader of the goblins. He falls, they will remain confused and divided, giving us all the advantage. We also have the earliest opportunity to save those tied up." Stun addresses to the group.

"The more we keep them off balance, the advantage will grant us the win."

OOC: still waiting on insight check 

“I agree with Stun. Keeping them off balance is a good plan. Let’s do thisss,”  Eskee says to the group.

Above is kind of the layout I imagine, us being on the wood line.Maverick draws out this plan in the dirt.  “What do you guys think of this? Maybe Eskee horse shoe behind us to get across from the leader to freeze him in place right after Stun and Asshrak do a range surprise attack on the group of goblins immediately after I cantrip the rain and ground tremors. remember we will ONLY have 1min to pull this off. If we don’t then shit is going to hit the fan quick and at full force. Unless someone else can add to or has another idea?”
