"Now there's an idea..." Rikaria replies. "A prisoner exchange would be a much safer option than a straight fight. We don't know how many of them there are or how well most of us would be able to handle ourselves in a real fight. Most of us ain't Gerty here. But then they don't know how many of US there are. If we could convince them it's their best option, and that they CAN'T fight and win, it'd likely go a lot better for us."
She looks down at the unconscious goblin, then at the pots and pans, and then she has an idea. Then she smirks, and comes to a decision. "Yes, let's take him with us, and let's make sure to gag him 'fore he wakes up. And let's forget stealth. We can make our clumsy entrance work for us!!"
She picks up two of the pans and continues "Let's try and make as MUCH noise as we possibly can. Fool them into thinking there's a whole army down here!! Knights in clanking armor! If we manage to corner them without them getting a good look at us, then they'll believe they have no choice but to make the trade!!"
Gerty blushes as Rikaria congratulates her, but just replies with another shy smile. She then heads on down to the door that Will and Sasha are arguing at. "We don't have time for bickering, we need to find this boy and there are obviously other areas that he could be, this isn't the only option. But I do not think splitting up is a good idea."
As Rikaria talks about her plan, Gerty shrugs, "Could work, worth trying. Either way, lets do this now. Luke, you got the eh, bait?"
When Gerty returns with William and Sasha, she'll repeat her plan for them, and elaborate further.
"We'll shout and grunt like soldiers, and bang our pots and pans together. Be intimidating and loud as we can! We'll hold the torches at the back so we cast long shadows and mask how big we are. When we get to where the goblins are, we'll hold back and keep a distance if we can and offer to, what's that word? ... Parley! Then, when it's time to make the exchange, our tallest will go out there and make the trade."
She looks to William and Luke. "Luke, Billy, that'd be you two. Think you can play the part of knights? Billy, I KNOW you can. You're the best actor in town!" She smiles and winks at William, a complimentary gesture he has likely NEVER seen from her before.
She looks around at the others and says "I know it's a risk, but we don't know how many of 'em there are, or how well we can stand up in a fight against 'em. And we've already lost our opportunity to sneak up on 'em. I think this is our best shot. And like Gerty said, we ain't got time to make up a better plan."
Gerty quickly rummages through the mess, finds a pot lid for a makeshift shield and places a pot awkwardly on her head. "Come on guys, try and find something that'll work? Then I'm busting through. Let's do this."
She waits till she gets the signal that everyone is ready, then opens the door (if it isn't locked...)
(Let me know if that doesn't work with the shields - I was hoping if those that are proficient in shields could get the +2 AC)
Rikaria gives a few further commands as she rifles through the pots and pans, looking for some that might vaguely resemble a helmet and a shield. As she does, she gives further instructions, apparently taking quite easily to the role of field general.
"Luke, when you get out there, just try to stay quiet and help Billy by agreeing with whatever he says." (i.e. help action on the deception/performance check)
"Gerty, Shariel, we'll need you both at the front since you have the best eyesight. I know you're both hurt and I'm sorry, but there's just no other way. If you see any movement AT ALL ahead of us, call out for us to halt. It's crucial that we maintain a distance if we're going to play convincing soldiers and mask our numbers."
"Sasha and I will stay at the back to hold the torches, and to watch our backs for ambush."
She feels a bit guilty asking that everyone else go ahead of her, but it's just the most practical thing. She hopes everyone else sees that too.
When everyone's ready, she points ahead and barks out gruffly "Let's move out, men!!!"
"We'll just need to go by trial and error, I think," Rikaria replies. "We don't have time to search around every corner for the right path. Unless someone is willing to walk ahead of the rest of us, looking for footprints in the dark, I suppose. But it might not actually matter. Once the goblins hear us coming and that we want to make an exchange, they may come to us. But Gerty's got the right idea. Let's check the door first."
Gerty pushes on the door and with a little bit of effort is opens. The interior is very dark, and shockingly cold. Probably 20 degrees colder than the hallway you enter from. With her darkvison she can see three large stone containers near the far wall, a large pile of goblin sized skeletons to the right of the doorway and that's all you can tell from the grayscale vision. You will need better lighting to glean more detail. The only sound you hear is from your own breathing and the clattering of the pots and pans among your party.
Luke notices Gorf waking up and starting to squirm a bit....cursing behind the gag in his mouth. It makes Luke wonder what kinds of words goblins use to curse people
As they approach the door, Rikaria begins banging her torch against her pot-lid shield. She shouts in her most manly voice "Get that door open, soldier!!! We have to hurry up and find those GREEN-SKINS!"
Luke wonders if the Goblin is telling the truth. He's never actually seen or met a goblin before but figures some kindness might help. "Are you hungry? I could give you some food if you promise to help"

Sasha listens to Rik's crazy plan and smiles widely, stifling a laugh. "Sure, let's go for it." She says nodding, ready to stay back with her torch.
Luke nods then makes sure the goblin is tied up well enough to prevent escape as well as gagged before hoisting it up onto his shoulder
Gerty quickly rummages through the mess, finds a pot lid for a makeshift shield and places a pot awkwardly on her head. "Come on guys, try and find something that'll work? Then I'm busting through. Let's do this."

Luke begins to walk but stops short "Uh wait...which way are we going? Through one of the doors or continuing down the hall?"
"We'll just need to go by trial and error, I think," Rikaria replies. "We don't have time to search around every corner for the right path. ( using the pot lid as a shield will work, but for only one hit as it is not designed to hold up to combat.)
( who opens the door?)
(Gerty is)
Gerty pushes on the door and with a little bit of effort is opens. The interior is very dark, and shockingly cold. Probably 20 degrees colder than the hallway you enter from. With her darkvison she can see three large stone containers near the far wall, a large pile of goblin sized skeletons to the right of the doorway and that's all you can tell from the grayscale vision. As they approach the door, Rikaria begins banging her torch against her pot-lid shield. She shouts in her most manly voice "Get that door open, soldier!!! We have to hurry up and find those GREEN-SKINS!"
Luke wonders to himself if he should try talking to the goblin while the others fuss in the room.....He decides yes he should
"Do you understand what I am saying, little fella? I bandaged your wounds for you. Do you know where the boy is?"
Gorf shakes his head in the affirmative. Do you take the gag out of his mouth?
Luke wonders if the Goblin is telling the truth. He's never actually seen or met a goblin before but figures some kindness might help. "Are you hungry? I could give you some food if you promise to help"
You see the goblins eyes light up when you mention food and he again shake his head yes.
Luke takes out some of his leftover breakfast from traveling to town and shows the goblin. He removes the gag and offers the food to the goblins mouth
Gorf gladly gobbles down the food with no hesitation
After Gerty opens the door Rikaria notices a pleasant smell from the room. Kind of a mix of lavender and honey-suckle
