With help from Rhi and Bek the barghest, Prim's Toll the Dead finishes off the last hobgoblin general. Bek shifts back to her goblin form and says, "Thank you all. You have destroyed the leadership of the Goblinoid Army, which will now fall into chaos and disorder. Surely, you will be heralded as heroes when you return to Freeport. Now go quickly before you are captured by some power-hungry hobgoblin."
Okay. Do you want to fight your way back through the camp? Or should we say through the upheaval in the camp (due to the fires) and the darkness of night, you are able to make it back to Freeport without incident?
"Well, running sounds good to me", says Prim. "Thank you for your help, Bek."
(With all the chaos I'd be surprised if there wasn't a small fight. Returning scouts, ambitious hobs, etc. But Prim just wants us all to get back alive)
Okay. So, you make it back to the East Gate of Freeport City as the sun begins to rise over the horizon. After verifying who you are, the gatekeepers graciously allow you to enter the city. You are escorted back to the Frelian Defense Forces depot where Sergeant Sloan greets you each with a reward of five hundred gold for your services plus badges making you honorary members of the Frelian Defense Forces as special agents. Also, he gives each of you a special letter from the mayor of Freeport giving you access at any gate or pier into or out of the city without question. Leokoris is given a promotion within the FDF to lieutenant, and everyone levels up.
"Well, well... 'loooo-tennit', ain't we all hoity-toity now?"teases Skorli with affection. "Anybody know iff'n there be a pub or alehouse that serves a good dwarven brew? None o' this watered-down stuff from 'round here... My treat!"
(Prims first thought, after happily jumping up and down and squealing in happiness at raising a level, is "how do I get new spells?" She quickly doffs her practical protective uniform to her comfort-zone pink)
She exitedly babbles to anyone around: "Misha, could you help me learn new spells? Lieutenant, are there any libraries, or other spellcasters, who could help me?" Only after her desire to look for spells is satisfied (for the moment) does she ask "Sooo, Skorli, HOW strong are these dwarven brews? Would they, as they say, 'knock me flat on my butt'?"
(OOC: Bruce, I've sent a PM about her spell search)
As Prim asks around about spells, you hear rumors and stories about the Dark Lord and the Society of Kh'tai Wood to the north in the Lands of the Inner Seas. Also, you hear whispers of a powerful necromancer simply known as Nick living on the island-continent of Vinlandia to the east of the Free Lands of Frelia.
When Skorli asks about dwarven brews, Sergeant Sloan laughs and gives him directions to the Longbeard League Ale House and Meeting Room in the port district, a local hangout for all sorts of dwarven sailors, including a few pirates. He mentions also the House of Gilain Merchants' Guild where only the finest dwarven brews are served in a comfortable, leisurely sitting room. "Thirdly," the sergeant says, "you can ask any decent barmaid or tavern master for a pint or two of Red Cromyn's Firewater, imported all the way from the mountains of Kormenla."
”Sure thing, Prim! What would you like to know that I already know? I’ve never taught anyone before. I might be able to teach you how to turn yourself invisible or even duplicate yourself. I could show you how to make other people do what you want. Or even put them to sleep!”
Misha joins Skorli and the others for a drink wherever they end up. ”So, Prim… how long have you been doing magic? How did you discover your talents?”
(Uh-oh. You asked Prim to talk) Prims eyes and smile practically glow at the chance to talk shop with a fellow caster and talk shopping with another girl. She speaks happily and excitedly in the equivalent of an upper class British accent. "Well, I'm the youngest member of the Perianth clan, 13th in line for the throne after my brothers :Peregrine, Percy, Perseus, Pericles, Percival and my sisters Petunia, Peach, Peony, Perinneal, Pearl, Peridot and Persephone. I'm determined to be the first to discover the secret of life...;ITSELF! That will allow mortals to heal and restore life to the fallen and give necromancers an option besides the "raise an undead army" thing. When the goblinoids invaded our land years ago, I was a child, and wanted to help. I was too far down the line of succession for a political marriage, and I'd seen what forcing Persephone into religion had done to her. (Looking concerned) She has "Mother issues" to this day, poor dear. So I convinced mother that instead of paying the Church for healing training, I could get arcane healing training. Mother said she'd cut my schooling if I didn't get straight "A"s, so I made sure to hit the books. Spellbooks, that is (Smile-Hehe -snort). Four years of school, two years of adventuring research, and here I am. I'm trying to learn healing spells that a wizard can cast, if you know any. Do I recall you asking about styles and shopping when we met?"
”Oh my. That is a really big family! I have never been around so many siblings before. I had one older brother; however, he’s off doing goodness knows what now. My parents are long since deceased. They both lived wonderful, happy lives. I had their ashes kept with me for a long time before deciding what I was going to do with them. I finally decided to plant them under trees so I could always talk to my mum and dad! Whenever the wind got to blowing and their branches were flailing about, I always thought it looked like they were playing or dancing with each other. So sweet! But yeah, those mean goblins came and trashed my home and my forest and my parent’s trees. They burned everything. Now, I have nothing to return to. Sad, really. I do have a new friends though. They’re like family. Leokoris and Skorli have been wonderful people and I just love talking to them, though I wonder if maybe I do more of the talking and they do more of the listening. Regardless, they’re so wonderful and I’m glad to have met them.
What were we talking about? I was going to show you something? Oh! Magic, that’s right. You want to know how to heal? I know how to heal! I can also keep people from dying. It’s a neat trick I learned…too little too late, I’m afraid, but I know it now so I’m eager to try it. I mean, not really, that would be sad to have to use it, but it is good to know that I know it.
Shopping? I do enjoy shopping. I like trinkets, I think they’re so much fun.”
You head south to the port district, pass the Inn of the Swan where you first met Sergeant Sloan, and reach the piers. After passing several piers with ships moored to them, you come to a large, well-lit tavern with a picture of a dwarf with a long beard and two mugs of frothy brew. Above the picture are the words "Longbeard League" and below it says "Alehouse". From the open doorway, you hear the boisterous singing of sea shanties followed by a bawdy song about a dwarven miner and a princess. As you enter, you see dwarves of all sorts and a few elves and humans, all having a grand time. In the middle of the room, you see a group of dwarves in sailor outfits listening as a human bard and his dwarven friends in the garb of regular townsfolk sing about the misfortunes of the miner who fell in love with a princess, giving up all he had to prove his love, only to be rebuffed for having such a short beard, and how he spent the rest of his life travelling the world in an effort to find a way to make his beard grow.

The general takes a hit from Leokoris but is still standing.
Prim, your turn.
Rhi turns his martial arts against the general striking with his spear followed by a backhand from his fist. (rolls on sheet.)
Prim does another Toll the Dead for 5 points, a phantom bell appearing at the tip of her umbrella, that only the hob general can hear

Skorli says, "The buggers will likely fight amongst themselves to see who gets control of ta army. No sense gettin' in ta middle o' that!"
It's like my grannie used to say - you got to know when to walk away, know when to run....
We have had a good night, so far, let's go home ...

Leokorlis sips her ale, making a mental note to find out where to buy saplings for planting....
Shopping, great idea, I wouldn't mind picking up some javelins, and maybe some potions, too.
While she sits with her mates in the tavern Leokorlis is keeping an eye out for any potential trouble...
Perception 22
(ooc: modifier should be +2 rather than +6, sorry, resulting in a 9)
Everything seems to be fine right now, Leokorlis. No trouble in sight.
Skorli, where would you like to take the party for a good dwarven brew?
Skorli says, "That there 'Longbeard League Alehouse' sounds like a right jolly place, let's head o'er there!"
A dwarf bar, o good- Leokorlis says, relieved...Lead on, Skorli, lead on...
