OOC I'm not sure what's going on. Is the prisoner following us? Is he restrained somehow?
IC
"Er... boss? Misha? What's to prevent ta little guy from hollerin' and givin' away our position?" asks Skorli worriedly.
Thank you for asking Skorli - As a runaway in time of war Bek's chances of mercy are much better being with us instead of being against us. Misha, I know this bit here is challenging, I just want to get close to the top of the hill and then we will slow down.
ooc - Leokoris tied Bek's arms behind his back lashing together his wrists, and then his elbows, making running very awkward
"Ye hear that, goblin? Yer chances o' stayin' alive depend on ye stayin' quiet-like, and no tryin' to escape. If'n ye call out fer help, I'll make sure ye don't live to regret it..."
Misha grins at Bek and makes a nodding motion to Skorli,
“That there is Skorli, Bek. I’d listen to what he says. He means it. He has a great big hammer that he named. I think he talks to the hammer too! I never talked to a weapon or tool before. I usually just talk to other people. Although, I can and do speak to forest animals! I had a forest friend once. A squirrel named Peony. She was a great friend. She died. Goblins killed her. That makes me sad. Have you ever been sad before, Bek? It is not a good feeling. Sometimes I just want to cry and cry when I think of Peony!”
Misha continues to scurry along behind Leokoris, keeping pace, side by side with Bek.
”You’re so fast, Leokoris!” Misha turns to Bek, “She is so fast!”
Bek nods at Skorli and Misha, following Leokoris as best he can while keeping clear of both Skorli and Varen. As you get to the top of the hill, you see spread before you the Goblinoid Army in all its horrible glory. In the midst of all of the campfires and tents is one very large tent, possibly several tents put together to form one massive structure. Flags, pennants and banners fly atop of and festoon the tent.
"Yes, I know what it is like to be sad," Bek says to Misha once he is able to catch his breath. "I cried when they took me from my home and brought me here to fight."
Down low, everyone, we are trying to be not seen...
Bek, you are doing awesome, keep it up...Speaking in a low tone to all Leokorlis slowly unwinds Bek's restraints...
Misha, can you look for the 2 biggest flags we can see, please?
Skorli, can you count the number of flags by the big tent for me? thank you
Varen, can you please take wing for 5 minutes and have a look around from above? I'm wondering if this is all of the Goblin Camp or is there more just out of view? Also keep an eye out for their latrines and horse lines, too, please and thank you
I'll be counting campfires. This helps us get an idea of how many are down there...
“Sure thing! I have just the right trick for this job! Nobody will even notice!”
Misha pulls out some gum arabic and chews it up until it is mushy and spits it into her hand. She then plucks an eyelash off herself and pushes it into the gum “Invisibilis!” And she spreads the gum with both hands. It begins to glow and then faintly disappears as she makes a bubble to envelop herself and Misha becomes invisible.
She heads into the camp to look for the two biggest flags.
Skorli mutters darkly about trusting goblins and being assigned menial tasks but he obeys. He trades out Frigga for his crossbow, which he keeps aimed at Bek. "Best pray I don't cough 'n accident'ly squeeze the trigger..." he snarls in Goblin.
Perception to count flags: 16 (Passive Perception 13)
Leokorlis, you see dozens, possibly hundreds, of campfires,
Varen, as you fly overhead, you see a sprawling camp containing thousands of goblins spread between three hills, one on which your team is standing and trying to be inconspicuous. The main pavilion is in the central valley. To the northwest, you see a large oak tree under which several goblins are sleeping. Nearby, you see another aarokocra with two humans and an elf preparing to attack a hobgoblin and a couple of wide-awake goblins.
Skorli, you see one large flag flying over the pavilion. Four smaller banners mark the four entrances to the main tent. Around these banners and scattered throughout the camp are pennants with various symbols on them. You count nearly a hundred pennants. From what you know, this looks like the main body of the Goblinoid Army with most, if not all, of the goblins and hobgoblins here.
Misha likes to talk. So much so that she has been called a “chatty social butterfly” which she truly holds close that term of endearment (if it really is one); however, she also knows when to keep quiet and she pitter-patters around the camp looking for the largest flags.
Skorli Bonebreak reports to his superior, "There be one large flag over ta main tent, and four smaller ones near ta entrances. Beyond that, there's dozens, everywhere. In me official estimation, there's a crapload of goblins everywhere, 'n we don't want to try and fight 'em all at once. Recommend against a direct frontal assault.... sir! Perhaps a feint or a diversion of some kind to draw away their attention from us."

While walking and talking, Varen tells Leokoris that yes, he can fly.

"Dinnae pay 'er no mind, precious," the dwarf whispers to Frigga, stroking the warhammer. "They mocks what they can'ts understand..."

“Oh! You don’t want to be here? They told you to fight? How terrible!” Misha feels bad and begins to pout.
”Do we have to keep Bek tied up, guys? He might not be so bad after all!”
As they crest the hill, Misha gasps at the number of tents and campfires. “We have to go down there?!”
Varen smiles darkly. “Heh, this should be fun.”

”Ill scout, for now.” Varen takes to the sky, stealthily flying on a recon mission. What do I see?

Misha, give me a stealth check with advantage.
Also, Varen, since you did so well on your investigation check, give me a perception check, too.
Ok, here we go.

Oh, everybody, btw, this is what Varen looks like.

Okay.
Varen, you see a strange blue light coming from a distant hill.
Misha, the biggest flags you see are the ones around the main pavilion in the center of the camp which were described earlier.
