(OOC - Would Painter's Tools proficiency help? From XGtE, this seems closest to "make a quick copy of a piece of art you saw", since we're copying, not making a map from observation. I'm also not clear on what Ability this would be, though I'd think DEX. Up to DM of course though!)
Kerri nods to Mae, giving her a smile. She walks over to the map, looking back for Mae to follow. She holds up the paper on the wall next to the map. Then letting go with one hand, she points back to the woman, again holds the paper up, then hands the paper towards her. Assuming she takes the page, she starts trying to copy the shape of the coastline onto her paper., fluidly drawing it in with her charcoal pencil. Then adds the river and the bridge. At that point she stops to step back and take another look.
Moving back, she starts at the top and puts in the main road coming into town. Then one by one adds in all the roads on that side of the river. She then switches to the other side of the river, putting in the roads there as well, still working mostly top to bottom. She doesn't bother trying to include the buildings. At one point, she stops, furrowing her brow in concentration as she doesn't seem to see where she's supposed to connect two of the roads. Finally, she looks at Mae. "Where?" she says, the word sounding a little strange, but it seems to be Common. She points the tip of the pencil to each road. "Connect?" She waits for Mae's input then continues.
Once all the roads are in place, just puts in some marks for the landmarks, then copies down the names in a small key. Her last step is to put in a compass rose. Although, rather than copying it, she makes what looks like a very circular flower with larger petals pointing in the cardinal directions and gradually smaller petals in between.
Doc looks at Lancelin with a curious glanceHow would you know so much about these kind of creatures.
"Don't think I can get more information from this investigation unfortunately, but it is pretty important information I believe. How about we head to the tavern now to hear what people are talking about?"

Seeing Mae and Kerri work well together with the parchment, she adds, "Do you girls mind also copying down the names of those that have disappeared? And once we're done with that, can we move on to the tavern? Unless there is anything else that needs to be done here?" Mina is getting a little antsy, wanting to get outside and see this fog for herself, but try to get as much done before the sun sets.
Kerri can certainly make a skill check with that tool proficiency. With advantage per Mae's aid.

Kerri nods her head rapidly to Mina when she asks about copying the names. She starts to reach into her pack, but stops as Nix suggests getting the list from Giles later.
Kerri creates a remarkable replica of the hanging map.
"Kerri! This is amazing," Nix exclaims smiling happily at her companion's work. "Really if you want to make a career change cartography might be something to look into," she adds. Nix's admiration is audible as much as the smile on her freckled face. "Shall we go," she then asks everyone with a curiously arched eyebrow.

"Sweet! Let's go, I'm interested in seeing what a rough tavern is like! Will I need my weapon? Surely not, its still a normal establishment, correct?" Mina looks a mix of trepidation and excitement as they head towards the Flagon. When they arrive, she is one of the first ones through the door, drinking it all in, wondering who would be the best ones to talk to about the last week..
"Weapons are peace tied as in all the taverns but I wouldn't say you should leave them behind, " Nix replies to Mina. "I won't of course being a Warden but I'd ask no one draw a weapon unless I say to," she then explains to the party as she leaves the Warden Hall.
Giles follows the group out but lingering in the doorway looking on as the party.
"I'll keep the fires burning but keep in mind the time," Giles reminds everyone but looking at Nix with a softer expression. "Good that you're home again, " he adds as he and Nix exchange a lingering glance before she gives him a soft smile.
Nix then turns towards the bridge in the direction of the docks and the Black Flagon. The young ranger has a lingering smile for the first time since the party arrived in Drynna.
Belkris is happy to walk in the fresh air. Walking near the docks brings fond memories of his time as a sailor. With a smile and light step he walks towards the Black Flagon tavern. Once her arrives he confidently opens the door. "Yes lets depart. I wonder how many will already be drunk deep in their mugs"
Kerri smiles broadly at Nix's praise of her map. She takes it and hands it out to Mae, nudging it towards her, hoping she will take it.
She decides to leave her pack here since they'll be back. But she does grab her halberd. She's not sure what the rules are for that - but she figures worst case is she has to check it somewhere when they go in the tavern.
Mae looked at Kerri curiously when she spoke some, but with an encouraging smile. After doing her best to help Kerri with the map, she was relieved it came out as well as it did. After all, music was her thing, not art for the most part. She gladly accepted the copied map back and offered a quick thank you, smiling brightly at Kerri again and put the map in her bag for reference later. "Yes, the Black Flagon sounds like a fine place to really get into our investigation, let's go there for sure!" She leaves a majority of her things in the hall but takes a small dagger, her flute and lute and follows the group out into the town again. She took a note of the lingering gaze and smile from Nix, but simply filed it in her mind and headed off with the group. "Taverns are wonderful places!" she said on the way. "Some of the best performing venues are in taverns and inns! Captive audience and all..." She laughed a little until they headed inside, then gave a cursory glance over the room. In particular she was looking for anything obviously out of place or suspicious, and also anyone she might know.
Doc follows the others towards the tavern. When they enter he takes a good look around if there are any groups of people that show a particular interest when they enter.

Lancelin read a book about various creatures from the Nine Hells. It didn't go into exact detail but it did talk about fiends being summoned by others to do their bidding as well as them coming to the material plane for their own shadowy agendas. This book was kept away from the general public but the young bard was able to get his hands on a copy. Giving brief explanations for the difference in devils and demons but very few other such beasts. The tone of the volume was almost cautionary as if to advise the reader to avoid such beings at all costs.
Nix nods at Belkris for opening the door and she enters. A Sun Warden in the Flagon isn't exactly rare but Nix turns some heads. It isn't however silent until Belkris and Doc enter. It's comical even as the bards playing on a small stage at the back of the room even falls out of tune with one another due to their striking appearance!
"Wadern," a lavender skinned tiefling man swaggers up to Nix with a smirk. "You keep interesting company," he adds looking over the group. "Word is they've come to stop the disappearance, " he says as the low murmurs of the patrons return as well as the bards resyncing their instruments.
"We are," Nix replies. "Any news we should be aware of Balefire," she asks as the tiefling smirks again.
"Buy a round and we'll see who talks," Balefire replies moving away from the party back behind the bar.
It's a dimly lit places with small fires in three separate fireplaces and light also coming from enchanted sources above in the rafters. The decor is sparse but the patrons, about sixteen individuals spread throughout the cramped place, sit drinking.
Belkris takes the stares in stride as he is used to it. He looks around for anyone playing poker "Perhaps I can glean information as a I play a round of cards."
"I'm not assuming anything really, just presenting a hypothesis. It would be the way I would normally conduct an investigation." Lancelin says to Giles with a polite smile
"I wouldn't say I know a lot about fiends, just that they are often being summoned by others to do their bidding. I read that in a book once, since you're wondering." He says to Nix with a polite smile.
"Yes, that is remarkable." Lancelin chimes in as Nix praises Kerri's and Mae's work with the map. He is in fact not that surprised as he knows that Kerri always have been a skilled painter.
He follows Nix over to the Black flagon, bringing his rapier and his dagger along, but leaving the rest of his gear at the Warden's hall, noting Nix's smile as they leave. On his way to the tavern he walks by Kerri, giving her some signs as they move along, giving her a nudge and a smile.
As they enter the tavern he quickly scans the taproom for threats but also for those most likely to provide him with information pertaining to their case. As the smirking tiefling suggests they should buy a round he strides over to the bar and does just that, patiently starting an inquiry into the disappearances.
(Lancelin would like to cast Enhance ability Eagle's Splendor on himself before entering the tavern if that is okay)
Mina follows Lancelin to the bar, "Thanks for buying a round, I owe ya," and she takes a seat and looks around the bar, seeing if anything in particular stands out. Watching as most have gotten over the newcomers and going back to their conversations, seeing if any are not or look like they want to have a chat.
She then leans over the bar towards the purple skinned tiefling, "Balefire is it? I'll bet being the barkeep here, you hear a lot of information. Mind if I ask you a few questions?" She tries not to get too much into his face, but this whole thing is exciting to her. "Over the last week, have the disappearances each night continued? Just like the week before, one per night?"
Lancelin can cast, how does he do so? What does this magic look like?
Belkris can see a table near the end of the bar in the cramped space a group playing cards but at his vantage he can't tell what card game they are playing. He would need to get closer to find out.
Lancelin approaches the bar where Balefire is busy working. Offering to buy the entire bar a round Balefire announces this as the sixteen other patrons give various sounds of approval from cheers to simple grunts.
"That'll be...," Balefire pauses sizing up the ale, wine, and spirits he's just served thanks to Lancelin, "15 gold," he adds having drained nearly a keg of ale and two bottles of decent wine.
When Mina settles in with her drink and starts her questioning, Balefire chuckles.
"Let's have the coin and I'll answer your questions...within reason, " Balefire explains looking to Lancelin then winking at Mina.
Mina give me a persuasion check, at advantage with Lancelin settling the tab.
