In quick reply to Khessa, Hadi says, "I saw something yesterday. Something big! I thought it was a trick of the eye... but I think it's out there. And now interested in us."
T’bitha takes Khessa’s hand and allows to be guided by the warrior. “Where did Tristan and Dimitri go?” T’bitha scrambles along with Khessa as they crash through the darkness. T’bitha tries to slow Khessa and Hadi down in attempt to hide away.
"Dimitri advised to spread out" Khessa replies, attempting to follow T'bitha's directions on how to hide. "They must be running like us, but choosing a slightly different path. So the pursuer will have to choose who to pursue".
Khessa, you lead T'bitha through a thicket of brush and branches hoping to slowdown whatever is chasing after you, but the both of you find it more difficult running throw it than you had originally planned, though T'bitha thinks quickly on her feet and manages to get the two of you hidden, moving in a quiet pace, at least for now. Dimitri double times it as he continues to run as fast as he can, and for the sake of Tristan, we will say he joins Dimitri. Hadi sends his familiar back to distract this massive creature, but it didn't do much use this round.
Hadi's familiar was neither a success nor a failure, Khessa's branches were a failure, but T'bitha'sstealth was a success, and Dimitri's and Tristan'sdash was beneficial for them getting further away from the creature, but ultimately not a success for the group.
(OOC: The DC for using stealth as a mechanic in this chase has gone up slightly. Due to Tristan's move, unless we hear from him, I'll pair him up with you Dimitri (he'll just mimic what you do) and the group has split up into three groups with Hadi being in the middle somewhat keeping you all near each other in this pitch black forest. Dimitri and Tristan both do technically have 1 success while the rest of the group has none.)
Round 2
Each of you can sense something massive to your right once again, even in different groups, but nothing strikes at you, how would you like to take your turn?
Khessa is encouraged that this time the 'big thing', whatever it is, failed to hit them.
Since the blonde arcane warrior has led the escape through an area of thick branches, this time she tries to delay the pursuer with fire: an elegant gesture while she murmurs a few syllables and a mote of fire sets fire to the tangle of branches that a pursuer would have to cross to reach them. This, even should not cause direct damage to the pursuer (who may not yet be in the middle of the branches), will at least force it to deviate... taking a longer route.
The tall warrior-mage then resumes guiding T'bitha to the destination, as quickly as possible.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Growling, Tristan stops as the rope looses tension. Turning, he faces the creature chasing them, his eyes glowing once again. As ( or if) it comes into view, he raises a rune covered arm. One of the runes glows and turns black, blood leaking from the skin around it. A similar rune appears in front of the creature, spiderwebbing out into a lattice of words that surround it. Screaming in pain and concentration, Tristan commands the net to tighten. (Blood curse of binding, 1 Amplification damage)
The creature must make a DC 14 Strength Save or have it's speed reduced to 0 and be unable to take reactions. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of it's turns.
Without waiting to see if his magic works, Tristan turns and runs after the group again.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Seeing the branch nearby burst into flames from Khessa's fire, Hadi pulls out his whip and swings it towards the branches, hoping to catch the flame and shattering the branch, causing small ash and embers to rain down around the area; if doing else at least causing distraction.
Dimitri turned around and tossed the flask of oil (flask) at the fire Khessa started, watching it grow stronger and dash forward again with his bonus action (not sure if dashing actually helps).
STR save vs Amplified Blood Curse of Binding -> 12 vs DC 14
You all continue running and individually pile onto the small fire Khessa had created, until it becomes an oil fueled blaze. T'bitha blesses Khessa with guidance.
You currently have 1 success from this round and no successes or failures from the last, bringing you up to 1 success. If the creature fails the saving throw, you will have 2 successes.
(OOC: The dash doesn't help end the chase, but it can help if you're in failures instead of successes, but you're all currently in successes.)
Round 3
You sense there is something massive to your left, this time, but nothing strikes at you. What do you have in store for this round?
Khessa is heartened by the fact that this time too nothing has struck neither her nor her fellow adventurers.
"Follow me!" the blonde arcane warrior, feeling Eilistraee's inspiration, decides "Let's try to cover even the last stretch by opening up a path where the vegetation is thicker. The thick of the branches should hinder it, who is bigger, more than us. And even if this were not the case... we could at least erect easily a new barrier of fire".
Athletics (with Guidance), to push through the branches easier than the chasing monster: 21
(OOC: @DM: In case she wishes to, may Khessa use Action Surge to push herself beyond her limits, thus rolling a 2nd time? The 2nd roll would not benefit from Guidance, of course, but in case of an especially bad 1st roll... Would this be allowed?)
Turning around to see the smoke and ash causing difficulties for their monstrous pursuers, Hadi reaches into his pouch and pulls out a small diamond. As it glows in his hand it begins to flash brightly and he sends a blinding ball of lightning backwards, hoping to give them just enough of a pause to get further away. ((Attack: 16 Damage: 15lightning)
T’bitha continues to run with Khessa leading and Hadi nearby. She pulls her holy symbol and channels Eilistraee invoking Twilight Sanctuary. The dim light of twilight surrounds T’bitha in a 30 foot sphere as it emanates from the Drow priestess. The sphere moves with her as they all crash through the forest.
Hadi is granted 7 temporary hit points
(Channel Divinity: Twilight Sanctuary
As an action, you present your holy symbol, and a sphere of twilight emanates from you. The sphere is centered on you, has a 30-ft. radius, and is filled with dim light. The sphere moves with you, and it lasts for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated or die. Whenever a creature (including you) ends its turn in the sphere, you can grant that creature one of these benefits:
- You grant it 1d6+3 temporary hit points.
- You end one effect on it causing it to be charmed or frightened.)
Hoping the fire is trapping the monster behind, Dimitri followed Khessa into the thicket. He wished they would prove too much trouble for the monster and it would turn around to find easier preys, but he didn't think the monster was an ordinary predator. So they'll have to make it out. He darted through the branches, making distance.
You all can hear the crashing behind you, giving you the bad thought that the monster must have broken through whatever Tristan had done to it, and continues to chase. However; Hadi tosses a ball of lightning back in its direction. You're not sure if it hit or not, but you did toss it in the correct location. T'bitha provides some extra protection to you Hadi (in the form of temporary hitpoints) Khessa leads the rest of you into this low mess of tree branches and brush, and Dimitri quickly catches up as all of you burst through the veil of darkness into the blinding light of the day sky that you haven't seen in almost 24 hours.
The blinding light and change in scenery is enough to temporarily blind you and cause you to trip and fall prone. You all look up to see this massive white eye once again. It stops dead in its tracks at the edge of the forest and veil. Just staring at each of you. You can see massive black appendages moving along the edge of the veil, unable to pierce it.
(OOC: You're officially out of the chase encounter!)
Khessa is really surprised, now that she can see well enough how the pursuer looked like. She wonders the motivation of the creature. Why attacked? It has no mouth, so it should not have been for feeding. Unless she has other means of feeding, of course. Was, maybe, a sort of guardian? But with what task?
'Maybe it can talk?' thinks the tall warrior-mage.
"What's wrong with you?" the blonde arcane warrior tries to scold the eye (but without coming back near it) "We didn't do anything to you... and still you attacked and chased us. Would you like to tell me why, pretty please? Maybe by talking to us you could get something more than the burns and the disappointment that your useless attack and pursuit has brought! Don't you think?".
But if the creature does not reply, Khessa leaves it be and talks to her fellow adventurers instead: "Great job all guys!" patting all on the shoulders (except Dimitri, for she thinks he would not like it) while smiling broadly at everyone"Now we have what Ozemon wants. How we bring it to him? Someone knows the way? I'm not from here, sorry, I come from the Rivenis Kingdom..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As you finish yelling at this massive eldritch horror Khessa, a large toothy maw appears below the massive eye, it seems to say a single word, but due to the massive amount of pain immediately delivered, you're unable to hear it. You all take 6 psychic damage and I need a Wisdom saving throw from everyone.
You all also notice now, there is a small plume of smoke coming from above the forest. It's not large, but it is visible.
