"Alright crew," Sparhawk addresses his friends, "Let's make ready." Sparhawk will make sure they have all their rations, and previously mentioned items to help safeguard their expedition.
"Baron....So my understanding is we are looking for the location of a storm giants skull. If we are able to get into the main chamber of this queen, what should we be looking for exactly?"
He will also spend some time in prayer and meditation, contemplating the disturbing dreams and visions he has been having. He does not know what the gods have in store for him, but he feels this mission will better prepare him for his fight at Luskan.

You head out, plunging through the water up the river. Lir and Frangipani swimming ahead keeping senses open to any obstruction or dangerous thing under the water. Quickly the sun filled sky is swallowed by the dense foliage of jungle and you make good headway up the river.
Your first couple of hours heading up river, nothing out of the ordinary or dangerous catches your attention. Lots of brilliantly color fish, and crawdads along with luscious water plants abound in this thriving ecosystem.
( someone in the boat make a perception roll for this leg as well)
Tomas sits next to Bjorn, observing and pontificating on all the glorious ways a fella can meet their end in this environment, along with some mentions of the 2nd most powerful litch recorded, Acerak. A fellow long gone but having left a horrible and lasting legacy of undeath in Chult. It turns out he is responsible for the never ending dead plague throughout the jungle.
Zaal keeps a good watch on the shorelines, occasionally catching some movements in the dense bushes, but nothing that seems out of place as the boat follows Lir and Frangipani up river. Luckily, the current is not super strong at this point in the journey as the river is wide here.

You move up river, The swimmer’s guide the boat around some underwater boulders as the river curves around a bend. You pass under some thick branches of some ancient trees. Sparhawk’s stomach momentarily churns as something on the tree branch leaps towards the boat.
A man with rotting skin and empty eye sockets leaps from the tree and misses the boat, making a big splash off the port bow. It is quickly whisked away by the current and sinks out of sight in short order…
Tomas could barely contain his laughter at the folly of the dead…” guess his mother never taught him to swim, ha…”
"Well, I always thought I got sea sick easily" the captain smiles, "but it turns out, undead actually make my stomach churn. Pretty funny for a Paladin....eh."
The half orc smiles, then turn more of a greenish color and throws up over the edge.
Frangi watches the dead man sink momentarily wondering how much of the dead need to be eaten by water life before they stop moving.......
She notices the riverbed has a lot of bones caught in the rocks, mostly where the river bends….
you make another couple hours up river, those on the surface notice the occasional group of undead off the right hand shore in the jungle with a few moving about on the shore. Off the left side shore mostly just jungle and it’s usual birds and random critters. Nothing terrifying surprisingly.

As they get closer to the garden, Sparhawk becomes more alert, ready for the random vine attack or undead. He keeps a watchful eye for any danger. (Perception: 12

Seeing the dead man jump towards the boat, Zaal perks up a little... just a little, and moves to where he has a better view of both sides of the ship. He pays little mind to Sparhawk wrenching... it just seems like the more decent thing to do rather than watch the whole thing.

He absently accepts the bandana from Eberk, nodding his thanks without taking his eyes off the shorelines.

You figure you are only about a mile from the entrance at this point. You have made remarkable progress. In the left hand shore you begin to notice there are bodies of those man sized monkeys, that the crew noticed during the overnight in the garden. Appears they were rather brutally killed. Most of the gaping wounds are on their backs and legs. There are approximately 10 or so that you can see.
"From what I can tell, we aren't too far from the garden. Let's make sure to visit it while the sun is up this time." (Depending on time of day, we'll head in or make camp and do a long rest until the next morning if that is agreeable)
"Hey Bjorn, let's fish up one of those monkeys with your glaive and take a look. Those wounds look brutal. By what I can tell, they were running away from something...see the wounds on their backs?"
(Investigation/ medicine to look at the wounds closer: Claws, arrows, blade...etc.: Investigation: 8/ Medicine: 10

Under the water, Frangipani and Lir notice there is a distinct lack of fish, or any other life normally abundant in this river.
