Vars nods as his comrades discuss the map. Locating the keyhole, he decides to try touching the key to the map. “Perhaps this key was intended to be for his tower? This keyhole on the map could be where he plans to build it.” He presses the key to the spot on the map as if he were putting it into an actual keyhole.
“Huh, there are already three towers, so maybe the three towers don’t have anything to do with three are one?” Vars frowns, it had taken him a while to locate the third tower at the bottom of the map, “why would he need to build another one if there are already three?”
"Well, as I said, perhaps these are not actual towers in these places, just clues on this map to how we open the secret door behind the map."Sorsha says.
"Perhaps you are right," Vars says to Sorsha. "Though, depending on the conclusion we reach after we are done here, perhaps we should consider trying to locate the closest tower and see if it really does exist."

The key goes into the hole and your able to turn it like a normal door. The doorway opens in to a small room . The center of the floor is a circle with runes carved into the floor boards

"Good job Vars."Sorsha says with a wide smile, giving the ranger a pat on his back as she cautiously moves into the small room, avoiding to step into the circle, trying to study it. Perception: 6 Investigation: 18 Arcana: 9

Sorsha is able to figure out that is a teleportation circle of some kind. She is unable to decipher the location symbols ( arcana too low) but you figure it likely is related to one of the location on the map
[So this is an anchor point, useless to anyone who can't cast the Teleportation Circle spell, right? But Abernath (or anyone with the spell who knows this place) could use it to return here?]

Not necessarily. Some times these circles are active spells maintained by a physical component , but someone who knew the spell could use the symbols to return here or go to the other end point at will
Sorsha ( having rolled so well on the investigation) notices the door frame has three crystals embedded in even intervals, and on the door itself, a matching set of crystals that are glowing. They appear to be the same type of crystal as the one embedded in the study wall, behind where the paintings hang in the hallway.
Sorsha informs the others of her findings and conclusions, not sure what to make of all this yet. Arcana to understand purpose of crystals?: 21
Sorsha understands that magic shares the properties of electricity in that it needs conduits to flow and connections to achieve an effect. Often times the spells connections are created via verbal resonance and somatic gestures of the magic wielded themselves and other times the connections require a physical component as a trigger
[Are the crystals at the same positions as those three towers? I'm guessing you can teleport by entering the room and closing the door behind you... Maybe it also requires something else. Like the scroll Vars has, perhaps.]
Vars eyes the room, taking in his surroundings as he listens to Sorsha's explanation, "I have a feeling that this is either linked to the place where the keyhole is on the map, or one of the towers. I wonder if the towers have similar rooms to this for easy travel. However, this would mean that Abarnath has the ability to return whenever he wants, assuming nothing happened to him on the other side. Of course, if something did happen and he was discovered, whoever found him could easily travel back to this location if this isn't just a one way trip." He nods to Sparhawk, "As I said before, I do think talking to Irongrass again would be good. Perhaps this is enough to earn a reward--I certainly think it is. Either way, I'm not to keen on jumping in that circle unprepared. It would be best to have someone else look it over and see what they make of it. Perhaps they can figure out where it leads without actually using it."
"Could be. The poster said information about his whereabouts or fate. I think we'd better interview the gnome."
"Although, and this is just a thought... If the circuit is broken as you say, then we could pry loose those crystals that aren't glowing, and their magic wouldn't reach us." He raises an eyebrow in a manner suggesting he's joking, but only half-joking.

Frangipanis eyes darted over the map following Bjorns indications as she stared down from atop his head.
She shifted back to her genasi form as she slid down his body nodding eagerly as she got her face within an inch or so of the map.
" Ruathym.....Spine of the World....Chult.....and they all look slightly different. Oh? is it a magic map? What if we touch the key to the keyhole?"
It does not appear to move

( basically, with the door open, the circuit is cut)
Sorsha shares this somewhat mysterious insight as well, not sure how to proceed.

“Hum”. Sparhawk ponders. “Do we have enough to give Snodgrass details for a reward or do we need to continue to investigate?”
