Alhorn steps out of the tavern, takes a big deep breath, almost enjoying the smell of the outdoors he looks to the others to see which way we are headed. "well lads, lead the way" Alhorn scans the area trying to see sign of where Nasquam has ran off to.
Barden and Galfaen notices that there is a narrow meandering game trail that heads in a south east direction. The hoof prints reveals that this is a deer trail.
Alhorn sees foot prints that just stops a few feet from the Inn's door. Its as if Nasquam just vanished after taking a few steps outside.
The party travels for several hours and the trail ends at the edge of a slow moving river, filled with lilies. There are several vibrant red trees growing along and in the river itself. The banks are filled with reeds. The sounds of croaking frogs can be heard as the party stands at the riverbank.
I take my waterskin from my pack and lean down to the rivers edge and fill it up with the fresh water. I then strap it to my belt once filled. Afterwards I fill my hands with water and wash my face and run my hand through my hair. "it's so peaceful and refreshing out here, don't you all think so?"
"Yes! Just be careful you do not get.... Bogged down, Cobbs." The Firbolg tested each step in the muddy environment, considering his size might cause him to sink in. "We gotta get across there then, mate?" He called back to Elyot, filling up a waterskin.
Elyot trailed after the others as best he could with his smaller stature. Somewhat out of his element while showing small signs of discomfort. "Ugh, anyone even know how far it is to this village?" Venting a tired breath as they eventually come across the moving stream. "Great... now what?" Also squatting to refill his waterskin, though cautious not to take a sip from it. "I dunno about 'refreshing', mainly just bloody damp and hot." Watching the others. "Well I'm not wading through that, looks dangerous. Surely there's gotta be somewhere we can pass across?"
"Here." Bardan offered an arm up. "Hop on my shoulder, small one. All that mapwork, you could use the rest."
The bottom edges of Bardan's cloak were covered in muck, and he elected to simply remove it, exposing his loosely put together chainmail short. A shield made of wood sat on his back, and a metal shovel on his belt.
" 'fraid I'm not an ideas man. One of the other folk is probably better off coming up with how to get to the other side."
"Damn" Brac looked across the river, trying to figure out the best way across. "I could attempt to swim across with a rope maybe, then the rest of you could use that to sort of pull yourselves across...but this mud...could get stuck or worse start to sink....any other ideas?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Glanced at Bardan as he offered to help, though being called 'small one' only made him roll his eyes, even if there was no ill intent behind the words. "Maybe as a last resort? Who knows, could be leeches and stuff in there." He cringes at the thought, turning his attention to Brac, "You think you could make it across? I could probably climb across without much trouble if we got a rope tied up. We should probably come to a decision soon. It's already getting dark, and we've only got three days." Elyot wipes his brow, keeping a weary eye about for any dangerous wildlife. Perception21 (Originally rolled an 8, I think editing the post made it re-roll.)
Sadly the damp air continues to obscure his glasses, forcing him to occasionally wipe them down with an embroidered handkerchief.
"Ok well I am willing to start us off. I also have a further 50ft of rope so that should give us the extra length we need to wrap it around some of the trees.make it more secure as we go....here pass me your rope friend" Brac puts out his hand in Alhorns direction. Brac smiles again, happy that Elyot thought his idea was worth at least something.
Galfaen offers his rope as well, before settling himself down in a meditative position, oaken staff firmly clasped in both hands. "Perhaps I may be to find out if danger lies within these waters. I will need a few minutes to attune my mind to the local fauna."
While distracted by the rather cumbersome climate, Elyot mainly lets the others work through the plan. "I've got some more rope too if we need it. Actually-... here, let me help." The Halfling walks over towards the scattering of trees, finding the one closest to the riverbank which is still within reach. Then brings out a set of tools, mainly a small hammer and a box of Pitons . He starts by nailing one into the trunk of the tree in order to test if it would hold...
"Might be able to better tie the rope to this, or to use for as extra support. I dunno how sturdy these trees are though."
Brac collects the rope from those who have offered it and ties thee ends. He walks over to the tree Elyot had secured his contraption on and rigs up the rope. "Alright, lets see if this works..."
Brac begins wading through the water, the rope slung over his shoulder, slowly drawing it out as we made his way through the bathing trees. He had left the chest on the shore with the others needing both hands for this task.
Elyot would have handed Brac the hammer and the box of pitons before venturing into the river, if he could carry everything with him. While that his happening, Elyot begins picking a few rocks scattered about the water's edge, stuffing them into a belt pouch.

Its 100 ft wide.

There are a string of trees growing in the river that spans the width of the river.
"I have 100ft of rope, perhaps we could make some kind of rope bridge between the trees, and scale across"
not sure what check to to do for this

(Ritual cast of speak with animals)
Galfaen can feel the ebb and flow of nature around him. His eyes falls onto a pair of aquatic turtles near the riverbank.
Alhorn passes a smile and nod in Bracs direction, reaches into his pack and pulls out his rope and hands it over to Brac.
"Lets hope it holds" Alhorn says to the group with a sense of hope!
Meanwhile he scans the riverbank and tree line with his eyes and listens closely.

i remove the rope from inventory now correct?
Don't remove the rope, because you may figure a way to retrieve the rope again in the future.
With an 11 you do not see much and hear only the natural sounds common in swamps.

Athletics roll: 6+4 = 10.
Brac wades into the water and the water is waist high when he reaches the next tree.
