Randy shakes his head at Omen's antics then looks back to the general. "You can count on us, Sir. We'll get that freighter for the rebellion. Those imperial bastards will pay for what they did to my mall. If that's all you have for us then we'll say our 'eat shits' and be on our way."
General Rieekan smiles at Randy. "Good, this shipment of weapons is very important to the Rebellion. We're all counting on you two." He turns to Omen and frowns, "Unfortunately, thermal detonators are expensive, and we have none available."
With your briefing complete, General Rieekan dismisses you with a nod. “Thank you gentlemen, may the Force be with you.”
Back from your memories, you approach Martle Station. You receive a transmission from station control: "Shuttle 201-7, we have you on our scopes. Please relay your business in Martle Station space and transmit your identification."
The two of you possess false identification provided by the Alliance that can transmitted and should stand up to the lax scrutiny of station officials. All that's left is to give the traffic control personal your reason for visiting the station.
What do you say? Give your reason and make a Persuasion check.
Randy keys the communicator, "We're here to do a bit of trading. Need some supplies for the homestead. Wanted to go somewhere safe to get it done. Long Live the Empire!" He turns off the communicator before Omen can interject.
“Trading is such a narrow term, don’t you think? I am an explorer of antiquities! A disciple of history on a quest to unravel the fabric of our galactic tapestry through obtaining brick-a-brack that may be perceived as junk to the untrained eye, but to me is historical treasures! My co-pilot is just an engineer and doesn’t understand the subtitles of the business.”
Randy fumes internally at Omen's comment ("Doesn't understand the subtleties (?) of business? I was BORN for business") but remains quite, waiting for the imperial response.
Before station control can respond to your request to dock, the third member of your team emerges from the back of the shuttle. You two see a tall, dark haired human and he says...
"Subtle... that was subtle... Let's hope they buy it "says the human. He walks past both of them, wearing an old leather jacket with some patches on it, black pants with a corellian stip on them and black leather boots. A blaster pistol is open carried on his hip. "Allow me to fly this thing before they think you are drunk with corellian whiskey. " he sits at the controls and the shuttle begin to follow a smother flight plan. "It is illegal to fly drunk in most of the systems you know?" he adds with a smirk on his lips.
Randy relinquishes the controls of the ship. "Please. Be my guest. I'm just glad you decided to participate in our little venture. So long as you both follow my lead I'm sure we will come out of this in the black." With that Randy turns to the shuttle's system readouts where he checks for any engineering red flags.
"Parn Starbright is the name " he says not looking back to his two companions "And I was appointed to this mission to be, mainly, the pilot. If you are going to steal a ship you need someone to pilot it. We will need to rig up some of the systems though, for it is a big ship, but we will cross that bridge once we reach it"he says as he maneuvers the shuttle towards the station. "First let's see if your promise of business is enough for them to allow us to dock."
Martle station control clicks back in, "Well, your identification checks out," you hear in a bored tone. "Please transmit your docking fee." The voice pauses for a second, and then says, "...100 credits."
You all realize that the standard docking fee is only 50 credits. What do you do?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Parn laughs with the comms still closes.
"That sleemo want to steal us. Let me try something."
He opens comms again
"Please check your records, we already paid 75 credits in advance before departing to lock our docking bay. We delivered it to Rolbios three cycles ago. Transmiting the 25 credits to you now... plus 10 credits as a special thank you..."
You hear some clicking on a keyboard and then silence. You finally hear a resigned sigh. "Okay." The voice's tone changes to all business. "Please proceed to Dock 7E and the station computer will guide you in."
After an uneventful docking with Martle station, you sit in Dock 7E. Out the front windshield of the shuttle you see local dock workers and wrench monkeys working mixed with a few bored looking Imperial Navy troopers mulling around.
“Wait one second.” Omen says, and he double checks to see if the comms are still off. He shuffles in his copilot chair to set his red-eyed stare on Parn.
“This is the first I’ve heard of this Rolbios fellow, and why would you have advanced him 75 credits?! Every hatchling knows the standard docking fee is only 50! We’re on a tight budget.”
Parn, after completing the shutting down process and let the nav computer running a full diagnosis of systems while they are away turns the chair smiling.
"That's the beauty of it my friend. I never sent that creds. I got us docked for 35 credits, half the price and a little bit more for keep that guy quiet. " he stands and walks towards the exit ramp. "Now, I'll left this one on stand-by mode. If everything goes well we do not need her anymore, but never hurt to have a plan B just in case... " he accomodates his leather jacket.
“Oh-ho! Well done! On the monastery they said you humans were sly, but I never thought of it as a compliment until now. Perhaps you can try your human mind tricks with those Navy Imperials over there to ascertain the location of the oddities shop?”
"That was well handled, Parn," says Randy, fluffing up his adorable, furry body to appear larger. "The next part of our plan is to find Passk. He has a store where he sells space-bric-a-brac. We should ask somebody for directions, but do it without drawing unnecessary attention to Passk. Perhaps we just ask after purveyors of oddities in general."
"Better not approach the imperials. They tend to ask too many questions. Let's see if there is a terminal from which we can access the information of the station, if not we can always try and ask anyone.. ." suggests Parn.
Randy shakes his head at Omen's antics then looks back to the general. "You can count on us, Sir. We'll get that freighter for the rebellion. Those imperial bastards will pay for what they did to my mall. If that's all you have for us then we'll say our 'eat shits' and be on our way."
